I'm 10-11DPO and just had BFP on a digital. I know it's incredibly early but looking at a due date March 3rd 2019!

@bluebird3 yay that's great news.

Welcome to all newcomers :)

Interestingly I went to gp today as I have a uti. Explained i was 5weeks and that I had had two m/c. He said not to ring midwife for booking appointment until 6 or even 7 weeks (even though they like to see you here at 8 weeks and no way in hell can you get an appointment for the following week!!) he said no early scan unless we pay for it. Which fits with my m/c experience of the early pregnancy unit who wouldn't even scan me when I was unsure if was or wasn't miscarrying. They only saw me last time after I paid for a private scan (£100 the cheapest around here) and they said results needed confirmation and follow up by epu. Who then eventually (after having to speak to the sonograoher, saw me.)

Hi all!!! Can I hop on? I’m 27, got my BFP yesterday after feeling very strange for over a week!

This is my first pregnancy so no idea what I’m really doing to be honest with you!

I phoned my GP this morning, reason being I have quite a lot of medication on a repeat prescription and I’m not sure what I should and shouldn’t be taking. Got a telephone appointment but I’ve also been booked in for my first appointment with the midwife next week? Does this seem a bit early? I’m only about 15 days post ovulation at the min, think I’ll be due end of March.

When will everyone be telling their immediate family? My fiancé knows of course but I’m dying to tell my mum and dad but scared of something going wrong with it being so early on xxx

@bluebird3 congratulations!! Glad to hear all went well. I'm surprised you could see so much at 5 weeks 6 days! I'd love to have an early scan to put my mind at ease. Is around 6 weeks about the earliest you can see anything?

JessicaFaithH · 16/07/2018 12:14

@Charlotte1x hi, I told my mum last night and telling DP's Mum and her partner tonight. Keeping getting massive urges to tell people but then bottling it last minute. Think I'll tell brothers and sisters (I'm one of 6) after my scan as I think it will feel more real once I've had that. To be fair, main reason we're telling parents now is that we currently live with my mum and it felt like I was lying to her and I don't think it would be fair for mine to know and not his

Jodie1122334 · 16/07/2018 12:14

Hi @Charlotte1x !

First of all congratulations!!!

I'm in the same boat - in my 20s, first pregnancy - it's daunting stuff isn't it!

I think I am going to wait a week or two before telling a few select people (e.g my best friend who I would rely on for support if god forbid something was to go wrong). But I do just want to shout from the rooftops. I feel like I'm carrying a massive secret around at work today!!!

modgem · 16/07/2018 12:54

I'm with you both @charlotte and @jodie! woooooooo. I'm finding it hard not to blurt out pregnancy related stuff at work!

Willowtree31 · 16/07/2018 13:08

I was desperate to tell people with DD1- DH was very cautious and made me wait to tell both our parents til we had a scan at 7 weeks. I didn't tell friends til 12 weeks.

This time, I thought I'd tell people straight away but now that it's happened, I'm feeling quite cautious. I know lots of people since having DD1 who had complications and lost babies so I feel a bit more practical about it, which is quite sad. I'm hoping once we have our 7 week scan, I'll feel more 'safe' to start telling people I guess!

(Also worth noting that with DD1, I was vomiting every 20 minutes for the first 18 weeks so my work knew about it very early on!!!)

Jodie1122334 · 16/07/2018 13:09

@modgem haha tell me about it. I literally am sitting here wishing I could tell someone!!

I still don't even fully believe my bfp lines, I've got a clear blue digital to do when I get home tonight. I need to see it say 'pregnant' in black and white I think 😂

RachaelT · 16/07/2018 13:30

Hi, welcome and congratulations @Charlotte1x!

We told DHs Mum within a couple of hours of finding out but there's just the 3 of us who know - had my mum not passed away last year she'd have been the first I told after DH so I thought it was right his mum knew at that point.

Other family will be told after first scan with heartbeat, as well as my boss; everyone else can wait til they see a bump after 12 weeks 😆 or until they get a Christmas card from "RachaelT, DH & MiniT"

Baby160P · 16/07/2018 13:30

@Charlotte1x

I'm 8 weeks today and we had a scan last Monday to confirm the dates and makes sure the baby is where it should be. We saw a heart beat which was reassuring.

We wasn't going to tell anyone until 12 weeks but telling little find to our family was tough, even 'so you want a hayfever tablet?' And me saying 'no I took one this morning' even though I can't have any was hard to do!

We decided after seeing our little bean that we should tell close family.

Between us there are 11 siblings and 4 sets of parents/steps so close family is actually a lot!!!

Rach93x · 16/07/2018 15:14

Hi,

Im new to this and also jumping on this thread! 😊 Recently found out I was pregnant, slightly nervous but excited, it is my first, it was a massive surprise and I’m only 25. Not the youngest, I know, but still slightly overwhelming for me! My LMP was 1st June which lasted 4 days with an approx. 29-30 cycle, which puts me ovulating around 16-17th June.

I took some normal pregnancy tests around the 26th to 29th of June as a precaution, not too sure why, but had a feeling in my gut haha! All came back negative, expect with a very faint line for the test on the 29th!

My period was due the 1st July and I never came on. I took a store bought test on the 2nd which came back positive on my dinner in work I went and bought x2 clear blue tests. One of the two tests was the one with how many weeks pregnant you are. This said I was 3+ weeks , to be honest I did not think anything of this. I then preceded to take another clear blue test with my boyfriend, this again said I was 3+ weeks pregnant.

Out of curiosity last night, I googled what the tests mean and I thought it meant I was 5 weeks pregnant, the 3 on the pregnancy test, plus the 2 from my LMP. However, I since saw online that it means I conceived 3+ weeks ago and the doctor would say I was more than 5 weeks pregnant. With my taking the test on the 2nd July, this would make me first real pregnancy date as 27th May. (I had a full period on the 1st) I goggled what causes the HCG levels and now I am slightly worried as it could mean a molar pregnancy. I have also experienced cramping and really bad morning sickness and a high temperature.

Can someone please explain this to me? -Should I worry or am I worrying over nothing? With it being my first and me effectively being the ‘baby’ of my family I do not know what is normal ☹

Sorry for worrying and any help will be appreciated! Thank you x

littleredlady · 16/07/2018 16:13

Hi lovely ladies!

I found out I'm pregnant last Saturday, and after a few just-in-case-I-can't-quite-believe-it POAS-es, it's starting to sink in 😊 Due date of March 21st...

How's everyone else feeling - ok? We found out the day before we were going to Italy, so we're sat here in Naples feeling quite discombobulated while the news sinks in and we try to navigate the language!

This is my first, so it'll be lovely to have a community around so we can all help each other thru.

Deborah

TheWanderlust · 16/07/2018 17:10

Congratulations @littleredlady

I'm also away at the moment - we've got 13 nights in Spain to try and process and get over the sheer panic used to the idea of being a first time mum whilst speaking no Spanish at all 🙈

Are you noticing the extreme heat bothering you much? I'm noticing every now and then the heat seems to be making my stomach churn.

TopsyTurvyK29 · 16/07/2018 17:10

@Rach93x if you go to the due date calculator it will ask for the date you started you last period.. how long your cycle lasts then give you your due date. Hope that helps. I'm currently 7+3

TopsyTurvyK29 · 16/07/2018 17:12

@TheWanderlust I am struggling with any heat at all!!! Constantly hot and sticky, it's disgusting! I'm assuming this is what a hot flush is like 😂

TheWanderlust · 16/07/2018 17:15

Sorry @Rach93x I meant to reply to you in my last post but extremely carried away and hit post before I'd typed a reply.

Firstly, congratulations! I'm a "young" one too (24) and sounds like we have identical dates. LMP was first of June but my cycle is only 26-28 days. I've seen my GP and she has placed my EDD at 6th March which currently makes me 6+4

I don't think you've got anything to worry about. Embrace your journey and try not to panic (like me...I'm a super worrier)

TheWanderlust · 16/07/2018 17:16

@TopsyTurvyK29 glad it's not just me! Absolutely melting today which is a shame because we've still got 12 days to go 🙈

TopsyTurvyK29 · 16/07/2018 17:17

@kirstblxo I'm in Dundee.. I had an early scan at 6 weeks with my first as I was spotting. We have to wait till the scheduled time though if all appears to be ok. It's a long time to wait!! Everyone seems have had appointments etc but I've to wait till next Tuesday for my first midwife one which will make me 8+4. I'm just praying everything is ok as we've had to tell my other children 🤞

Rach93x · 16/07/2018 17:19

Thank you both, @TopsyTurvyK29 and @TheWanderlust

I have done the due date calculator and it was coming up with 6 weeks + 3 days. This is based on a 30 day cycle.

Anyone know why the Clear Blue said i was longer? - As you can tell am a worry wart and I am panicking - trying not too, but failing miserably! Is it anything to do with the Clear Blue being based on a 28 day cycle.

Also, 30 days is my average cycle length. The lowest being 25 but that was back in February. Other months range from 30-36 days.

Congrats @TheWanderlust hopefully we can all help each other through this!

angel0071987 · 16/07/2018 18:20

My whole tummy feels really heavy today. I'm starting to wonder if my dates are right and the last m/c I had (wasn't confirmed by anyone) may not have been. Although clearblue digital had it as 2-3weeks so can't really be wrong. Sure I don't remember this last time (although I know you can't compare pregnancies)!

Mandalaface · 16/07/2018 18:39

Hi all, can I jump on this thread?

Found out at 11dpo, which shocked me as it was 16dpo with DS. Today at 13dpo have a definite positive. Have been feeling sick for four days already and haven't even missed period yet! ShockAlready look a bit pregnant too.

I was scared of telling OH, but he seems really made up about it! I'm the one who's worrying about the pregnancy and it sticking.

Not happy about the lack of wine for the next year or so though!

kirstblxo · 16/07/2018 18:56

@TopsyTurvyK29 ahh I see!

I got a scan at 6+ 1 last Monday due to having an ectopic last year. An I have my first MW appt this Wednesday which will make me 7+ 3 weeks. I am getting another scan at 9 weeks to rule out anencephaly as my daughter that I had this February had it and passed away. So I'm very very nervous. But if I hadn't went through them both I would have had to wait until 12 weeks which I cannot even imagine doing as I'm such a worrier ha x

Hadders1979 · 16/07/2018 20:21

@kirstblxo I am so sorry to hear what you have been through... what a horrendous time you've had. Good that the scan went well last week... fingers crossed for the next one :)

Does anyone else feel really bloated? I have such a big stomach at the moment and feel so uncomfortable! X

HidCat · 16/07/2018 20:34

Big congratulations to all the newcomers! So many people in March - I love it! I hope you're all getting over the shock and settling into preggo life.

Just been googling use of Radix in pregnancy as I remembered there being some scare about it a while back but pleased to find out it's all ok so running myself a nice bath after a heavy day. How's everyone else doing?

Eva30 · 16/07/2018 20:40

hi everyone! Got my bfp, due date 24th March. I'm 31, had mmc last june so I'm full of fear at the moment Hmm
I am booked as part of a team to do tough murder in august, any ideas on an excuse i can use to get out of it without it being obvious? I started saying i had an ankle injury but i kept forgetting and not hobbling at the right moments haha
