I'm 10-11DPO and just had BFP on a digital. I know it's incredibly early but looking at a due date March 3rd 2019!

I’m having a routine blood test on 10th July & doctor said he would check for hCG levels as I am a support worker and on one of my clients risk assessments it states that women up to 12 weeks pregnant can’t work with him so this is also something on my mind so we will just see aye. Just bizzare I haven’t bled as 3 Times I’ve had breaks off contraception (using protection during these times) and every single time I bled within 3 days. I suppose it could be my hormones balancing out but it’s just a bit of a coincidence that around the same time every night I go ever so sicky. Xx

Starheart · 30/06/2018 11:16

@TheWanderlust thanks . It's been a blur the last 24 hours . Glad I have the weekend to process everything having to work yesterday after just finding out was so hard !

physicskate · 30/06/2018 19:35

Getting nervous. Bad cramps today - two weeks and a day after egg collection, so I guess technically it's sort of the day my period would be 'due' on a non-IVF cycle?? Anyone else thinking they're about to start their period??

Kittymumma · 30/06/2018 20:10

@physicskate I keep having random period pain like cramps... on and off not like my usual period pain but not very comfortable. I've been told it's normal but still makes me worry.

TheWanderlust · 30/06/2018 20:50

@Kittymumma me too, some of the cramps have literally stopped me in my tracks whilst I wait for them to pass and then they go again.

Bloated on an epic scale today 🙄

Celebelly · 30/06/2018 20:55

@physicskate I accidentally clicked on this as I'm due Feb, but I saw your post and wanted to reply.

I was convinced my period was about to start before I got my bfp. In fact I almost didn't test because it felt identical to my period coming and it stayed that way for about a week or so. Even now I get that feeling sometimes. So pretty sure it's normal!

I'll skulk away back to the Feb thread now. Good luck ladies! X

physicskate · 30/06/2018 21:33

Thanks for the reassurance!! I know there's nothing to be done but wait and see. And keep everything crossed. And pray (despite being atheist).

ladycarlotta · 30/06/2018 22:12

@physicskate, just lending my voice to the others - I also had really dreadful cramps for about a week after my BFP, most of them bearable but a few incredibly painful. They weren't consistent and came and went, and - fingers crossed - seem to have stopped now. I took another FRER and my line is much darker than it was a week ago, so that's reassuring me. I think it is normal, it's just one of those symptoms you never think of.

PurpleFlower1983 · 01/07/2018 07:35

I’m having the period type pains too but it’s reassuring that others are too. I’m so bloated it’s unreal! I was Losing weight before and my stomach had gone down quit a lot but now it’s huge! Confused

pushit · 01/07/2018 09:03

I'm having quite a lot of pains too. Not period - more stabby and achy. It feels worrying doesn't it? But normal at our stage.

ellie80 · 01/07/2018 09:55

Congratulations ladies! I would like to join too please. I got my bfp yesterday and have a due date of 9 March. This will be my first and so am terrified and excited in equal measure! Also having sharp stabbing pains and so just trying to keep calm!

Kittymumma · 01/07/2018 10:33

The bloating is crazy lol already struggling to fit into my clothes Grin

TheWanderlust · 01/07/2018 10:50

Congratulations @ellie80

@Kittymumma ... feeling your pain. Bloat has now ruled out my favourite jeans 😭

PurpleFlower1983 · 01/07/2018 12:20

Same here re the clothes and I’ve just dropped 2 dress sizes, I’m gutted! Confused

frankiefumbles · 01/07/2018 12:24

@PurpleFlower1983 I know what you mean, but it's a great thing you lost the weight beforehand because your body will be in a better position (ie if you at your highest weight and put on baby weight that is potentially worse than putting on some baby weight with a lower starting point). I know it's pretty frustrating. I'm looking at myself in the mirror and vaguely dreading the process but it'll all be worth it in the end.

ladycarlotta · 02/07/2018 13:50

I know, very vainly I do feel a bit gutted about having put the kibosh on being svelte and lovely for the next 9+ months. I'm not at my optimal weight anyway, and did manage to lose a bit before getting pregnant, but at least I am healthy-ish and fit-ish. Just going to concentrate on maintaining and improving on that. And who knows, the first trimester might knock a few pounds off all of us.

PurpleFlower1983 · 02/07/2018 15:27

That’s what I’m banking on! I could do with at least another half a stone off!

frankiefumbles · 02/07/2018 17:53

I don't disagreed. I'm about 8kg heavier than I was this time a year/year and a half ago (whoops!!!). I'm a bit disappointed I've gone into "being pregnant" at this weight, but I console myself that it's temporary. Will be a bad day when I weigh more than the hubby though! He's 6ft and I'm 5ft6. Perhaps I should start over feeding him 😉 after all, we are both eating for two, right? 😂

ladycarlotta · 02/07/2018 18:38

I think it's maybe to do with the realisation that pregnancy puts an end to that elusive dream of 'the perfect body' I've been chasing most of my adult life. Even at my skinniest I thought I'd be 'better' if I just lost another half a stone. I caught myself having the single most toxic thought the other day - that I have 'robbed myself' of going into pregnancy at a perfect weight. lol wot. That is so disordered. I can't believe I thought it.

I promise this stuff is not as front-and-centre in my mind as I'm maybe making it sound right now. But I think reaching 30/being pregnant is making me re-evaluate what is important, particularly in terms of body image. I have a responsibility to look after my body while the baby is growing in it, and forever afterwards because my child will need me to be healthy. But the baby is not going to care if I'm a size 8. I feel a lot clearer in my desire to be healthy both physically and mentally, to feel good about myself and my body, and to accept that 'perfect' - if it is achievable - could have many forms.

frankiefumbles · 02/07/2018 19:04

@ladycarlotta I totally get what you mean. I'm totally on the same page. I totally caught myself having the same thought. Mad, eh?

ladycarlotta · 02/07/2018 19:09

crazy. I consider myself a reasonably intelligent woman but clearly there's a corner of my brain just full of codswallop.

loveisland · 02/07/2018 19:45

Joining the club 8th March 👌
