Hi ladies. Can I join in? I'm 11wks 2 days. Have my 12 weeks scan next Thursday but have already had quite a few.

Not feeling too bad. Super tired, waves of nausea and headaches but can't complain compared so some others.

purplesmiler · 29/06/2018 11:31

Thanks @InDreamland had a poor nights sleep too like @sexnotgender was awake at 3am feeling sick had to get up and have a cold drink along with a ginger biscuit as my tummy wouldn't settle. Think I managed to drop off again around 5ish for an hour or so. The sicky feeling comes and goes. It's all for good reason though.

DLWxx · 29/06/2018 13:14

Can I join in please ..... I'm 12 weeks tomorrow, first scan on Tuesday, very excited and scared all at once, this will be my first one, due mid January as far as I'm aware!

How's everyone feeling, I still haven't been sick, but feel sick most days, not sleeping well, haven't slept for a whole night in weeks, always so tired, I hope this gets better soon.

Jigglyjugs · 29/06/2018 13:56

Hi DLWxx and janefx40!
I'm with you on the sleeping, I can't seem to stop getting up to pee! Managed the gym today but defo over did it..... now eating McDonald's to make up for the lack of energy - poor kid! I'll eat loads of veggies to make up for it Grin. Finally got my scan date today - 17th of July! Eee!

pixienewbie · 29/06/2018 16:24

Hi all, I’m 10+4 and had my booking app yesterday where they took blood. Had a voicemail this morning that they needed to speak to me but now I can’t get through and stressing out a bit. Anyone else had this?

purplesmiler · 29/06/2018 16:29

Welcome @DLWxx and @janefx40 we are a friendly bunch

Also @pixienewbie I haven't had this specific experience but have been waiting on results of blood tests earlier in my pregnancy so know the worrying feeling! Hopefully you will get an answer soon.

InDreamland · 29/06/2018 16:32

Hello to everyone who's joined us!

The lack of sleep is awful and needing to pee in the middle of the night is so annoying..

Has anyone else been getting any mild dull stabbing type pains in their lower left or right sides? Like just either side of their tummy area. Been getting them all day. Are they normal? cue panic

Jigglyjugs · 29/06/2018 16:52

Yes I've had a few twinge that seem to move from left to right and then central. I've also now got an achy pain in my left butt cheek, but wonder if that's just from excersising! Honestly, I feel like I'm falling apart already! Shock

InDreamland · 29/06/2018 17:07

Oh thank goodness. I was worried about it. It's all very anxiety provoking.

My boobs have also been really itchy.

pixienewbie · 29/06/2018 18:43

Thanks @purplesmiler heard nothing so trying to comfort myself that hearing nothing means it’s nothing too serious. Could be a long weekend though!

purplesmiler · 29/06/2018 18:48

@InDreamland I've had some tightening in that area and occasional cramp. Things I've read say it is part of everything stretching.

Noodles14 · 29/06/2018 19:58

So I'm bored at home alone as hubby is away so I decided to do the ring test...dangle my wedding ring above my belly to see if it's a boy or girl. It first went backwards and forwards very clearly-boy- and then literally changed into circles- girl?! Ha ha- maybe I've having one of each - I have dreamt twice I'm having twins 😂🙈 Friday night fun!

cryptonaut · 29/06/2018 21:40

Caved and bought a new bra after work. Increased by 2 cup sizes so far. My boobs have felt so much worse after wearing a bra so hoping that having the correct size now will ease some of the pain.

@InDreamland I've heard that it's normal to get itchy around the stomach when the bump really grows due to the stretching skin, maybe that's what's happening with your boobs. Mine have been a bit itchy at times too.

Thamantha · 30/06/2018 13:28

Hello all,

Hoping I can join in. Midwife estimated my due date at 16th January, but I think it will turn out to be later as I have long cycles.

It is my first pregnancy so it has been a steep learning curve so far.

jadem1990 · 30/06/2018 14:16

Had an early scan today! The little one is very active no wonder I have no energy! Was measuring exactly what we thought ... so relieved after seeing our first little one xx

purplesmiler · 30/06/2018 15:39

@Thamantha I had long cycles too. My date was moved back after my early scan. I've been told that the 12 week scan will give a more accurate date. Also welcome to the group.

@jadem1990 that's brill news glad all went well.

I felt sicky again through the morning hoping it has settled a bit now as I've eaten a fair bit. Think I may need to invest in a bigger bra as mine are becoming uncomfortable.

cryptonaut · 30/06/2018 16:07

@purplesmiler from my recent experience I would recommend getting a new bra if yours is uncomfortable. I kept wearing mine and it caused me a lot of pain. Wearing my new (bigger) bra today and I haven't had any pain yet :)

Struggling with the heat today. Did yoga this morning and had to run to the loo mid session after a massive wave of nausea due to the heat, felt better after running my wrists under cold water for a few minutes. Now at a friends for a bbq and even in the shade I'm melting.

purplesmiler · 30/06/2018 16:12

I usually love the sun @cryptonaut but have become a full shade fan this past week or so. I have ended up back the house with the patio doors open most days.

InDreamland · 30/06/2018 21:35

Hi everyone! This heat is getting a bit much for me. I'm normally a sun worshipper but been staying indoors as much as possible this year and again crashed in the sofa for a couple of hours this afternoon. Also missing a party tonight which hubby has gone to without me because I'm just too tired. Feel like I'm becoming a recluse. Not been out with my mates or even seen my best friend since finding out and I'm finding it hard as only my parents and sister have been told. I'm actually not looking forward to telling friends ....... strange I know.

Hiya. I know what you all mean about the sun. I keep getting awful headaches and having to go to bed!!! I'm exhausted too but I was going to bed so early that I was waking up a lot in the night so am now trying to keep going until 10 - 10:30.

@InDreamland I know exactly what you mean. When I first got my BFP I wanted to tell people but didn't as it was too soon. Now I'm getting towards the 12 week mark, I'm feeling reluctant to share - it feels like our private thing now!!!

Sunnybuttercup · 01/07/2018 13:15

Hi everyone - I recently had my booking appointment with a student midwife and her supervisor. Both were lovely, although they did both seem very young (I think I had been picturing someone very kind and motherly in her 50s). Anyway, I came away with a letter from the student, asking if I would be willing to be part of her caseload of women whom she will look after throughout their pregnancy and childbirth (though obviously under supervision). She seemed very nice, and I would be keen to support a student midwife in becoming qualified, but then I spoke to a friend who said she had agreed to have a student midwife, but then regretted that decision during her labour, as the student took longer and perhaps wasn't as quite as skilful each time she was checking her cervix, and she said it really really hurt. So now I'm in two minds about it. Do any of you have any thoughts?

Jigglyjugs · 01/07/2018 13:16

It is so warm! Nearly broke a sweat bringing some washing in from outside! I feel terrible today too, headachy and a bit spacy, but I'm coming off anti-depressants so that's not helpful Sad.

My closer friends already know as one was inadvertently there when I found out 🙈.

InDreamland · 01/07/2018 14:31

@Janefx I feel the same. Want it to be our private time without people giving opinions and making annoying comments etc.

I'm so tired. Also got a fuzzy head. This weather is just insane. Only thing it's good for is getting my laundry dry.

@Sunnybuttercup I have no experience but I've no idea what I'd do. I'd like to think I would help someone to get qualified as we need midwives but I'd also be apprehensive. Maybe if it was my second I might but as a FTM I know at the moment I'm so anxious I'm not sure I'd have the confidence to say yes.

Janefx40 · 01/07/2018 19:13

@Sunnybuttercup it's a tough one - of course you want to do the community minded thing and help a new midwife but at the end of the day this is the most important moment and medical interaction of your life so if you don't feel this is right for you, I think it's more than fine to say no.

I agreed to a smear test being observed by 3 junior doctors once!!! I did regret it when half an hour later they were taking it in turns to peer down the speculum...

purplesmiler · 02/07/2018 08:31

Morning ladies,

Had a full day in the sun yesterday as we were at a gala and despite me drinking lots of water and re applying the factor 30 throughout I went to bed with an awful headache. So I will be keeping out of the sun today thats for sure.

My bloat seems to have gone down and symptoms seem less the past couple of days. Its has made me a little anxious but ive also read it can be normal around this stage.

@Sunnybuttercup you have to be comfortable. If it is already causing you some worries then it may be that you have another conversation with your main midwife.
