hammeringinmyhead · 21/06/2018 13:07

Hey all! Got my 20 week scan on Tuesday when I will be exactly 20wks. Looking forward to finding out the sex. No movement yet from mine.

EL332 · 21/06/2018 17:51

I am exactly 17 weeks today and my husband and I went for an early scan today and found out we are expecting a baby boy ❤️ I've always pictured myself with girls and was convinced I was having a girl so am now trying to start thinking of boy names! 🙂

Melaniesunflower · 21/06/2018 18:44

Has anyone else developed sciatic type pain? I have, started today in my left butt cheek!! I've asked a physio friend for advice, but will also speak to a physio at work tomorrow (I work in a hospital)

MouseLove · 21/06/2018 18:53

Hey ladies. I completely disappeared for a little while. I am now 17+2 but still haven't had my 16 weeks appointment as midwife had to postpone until next week. I have my 20 weeks scan on 10th July and we are NOT finding out the sex. I really want a surprise.

After then I'll probably start thinking about buying things, but at the moment we haven't bought a single thing. X

AnotherOriginalUsername · 21/06/2018 20:39

Currently sat in A&E with chest pain 🙄

Melaniesunflower · 21/06/2018 21:38

Hope you feel better soon AnotherOriginal

dw23 · 21/06/2018 22:14

Had my 20 week scan today and found out we're having a very active girl 💗 she literally wouldn't stop moving, think she was frustrating the life out of the sonographers 😂 but we're so happy, it's what we wanted.

Yes to the sciatic pain as well, it's an actual pain in the ass! I do manual labour job though lifting boxes (light of ones atm) so can't be helped but it sucks, I sympathize.

EL332 · 21/06/2018 22:31

@Another are you ok? Xx

AnotherOriginalUsername · 21/06/2018 23:26

I've been released. Tests normal except one for pulmonary embolism but was only marginally above negative. Sent home with instructions to return if it comes back - surprise surprise, it started as soon as I walked to the car park! Anyway I ignored it, went home and am tucked up in bed. May pop to GP tomorrow and get them to repeat the bloods

ND348 · 22/06/2018 06:49

hope you're ok @another

I'm also having issues with my sciatic nerve, it's mainly just in my back but literally crippled me the other week for a few days. Went to the doc who said my midwife has to refer me to physio but I don't see her for another week and a half and not sure how to contact her as she's only at the community clinic a few times a week! Dr suggested Pilates which I already do, looked up a few stretched with Dr Google and have been trying to do them everyday which I think is helping.

Also discovered the joy of what I think is round ligament pain yesterday, got up of a chair and was like *&%@! Worried me a bit as it didnt really settle for an hour and had to take a bath to ease it but not feeling too bad now so hoping that is what it was.... anyone else gettig that yet?

AnotherOriginalUsername · 22/06/2018 07:50

Feeling absolutely awful this morning but typically, there's no one to cover my shift so it's off to work I go for 12 hours. I could actually cry.

Newdad82 · 22/06/2018 11:10

Just had the 20 week scan and the hospital confirmed we're having a lovely baby boy !

(We already knew as I'd paid for a private scan a few weeks ago)

The midwife could get every measurement she needed so we're going back in 2 weeks

Newdad82 · 22/06/2018 11:10

*couldn't

dw23 · 22/06/2018 12:25

@Newdad82 Did you have a wriggler too? Our baby would just not stay still for measurements, had their arms over their face and legs crossed the whole time. 😅 We had a sneak peak of the bottom half and she said girl but wouldn't be suprised if that's wrong. The sonographer was extremely patient and persevered for over an hour so that's the only reason we don't have to go back.

Newdad82 · 22/06/2018 12:47

@dw23 - Yeah ! He was wiggling all over.. He was on the last scan aswell

The lady this time in the hospital was different and didn't really say much (unlike previous visits). Just that we had to go and out and walk up and down the stairs to see if the baby would move to a better position to see? That didn't work and he just kept crossing his legs and putting his little fist under his chin ! lol

Emma198 · 22/06/2018 23:43

Did you get through your day OK @Another?

I woke up this morning and turned on to my belly and there was a lot more belly there than there had been last night! Popped out and got harder. So bizarre!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 23/06/2018 02:02

I was sent home at 3pm which was a relief! Still feel awful, chest pain I can handle but drowning in my own secretions and being unable to breathe is getting boring now!

ReiofHope · 23/06/2018 13:51

What are people doing for not being able to breathe when lying down? I wake up with a very blocked nose and a very dry throat. Is there anything that can be done?
I'm currently 17+2 and my 20 week scan is not until I'm 20+6. It seem so so long away!

KB07 · 23/06/2018 16:45

@ReiofHope I am feeling exactly the same! In the mornings I feel like I can't breathe at all! So bunged up and sore dry throat, I'm fine an hour or so later once I'm up and about!

Any tips greatly welcomed!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 23/06/2018 17:14

Lots of drinks! I take a 1litre sports cap bottle of sugar free squash to bed (and usually end up refilling it at 4am). I also find lying on one side clears the opposite nostril, then turn to the other side and that clears the other!

Emma198 · 24/06/2018 23:09

I need to drink more 😟

Is anyone suffering with really bad trapped wind? Well, i think its that. Stomach is so hard and bloated feeling and actually quite achey. Meh.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 26/06/2018 16:27

I have Italianshark but not currently. Pregnancy slows your digestion down so altering what you eat a little may help. I find eating too much fruit makes it worse for me personally.

Been to my midwife appointment, baby heart beating like a trooper 😍

Bora8 · 26/06/2018 17:08

@italianshark try peppermint tea, I was in agony with trapped wind in the early weeks & that was the only thing that helped. Drink it regularly though, not just when you need it.
