I’ve just had my BFP after 3 years of trying, will be DC2 (touches wood). The NHS due date calculator has my due date around the 2nd Feb. Anyone else ready to jump on board? Grin

@Celebelly - I know!! I was only curious because they run in my family and my sisters keep teasing me about it! Lol 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

laurie7 · 05/06/2018 21:13

Yes you can @KimRobs87!! Those of you that have booked early scans how much are you paying if you don’t mind me asking? Am trying to convince my partner it’s a good idea.

Celebelly · 05/06/2018 21:15

Ours is £80. There is another one nearby for £39 but we had a personal recommendation for the more expensive one.

Celebelly · 05/06/2018 21:15

Also I just booked it and told my partner we were going!

MamaSarai · 05/06/2018 21:17

Evening all! Still no crazy symptoms, just really tired and little niggly pains. Did mention it to the doctor yesterday when I went for something else and he said not to worry about it at all so trying to steer clear of Google!

Still considering the early scan, can't quite decide what to do so would also be interested in knowing how much @Celebelly if you don't mind sharing?

@laurie7 I'll jump in that FB group too, but I think I'll also wait until after 12 weeks if you don't mind...still doesn't feel very real!

KimRobs87 · 05/06/2018 21:18

@Celebelly - 😂😂😂

ronniemipperton · 05/06/2018 21:18

I haven’t booked one yet but am eyeing up Ultrasound Direct for £90 Shock

But it’s in central London conveniently close to my work and gets very good reviews.

jeanzbeanz · 05/06/2018 21:32

@laurie7 I paid £79. There was a cheaper one but that was from 8 weeks, mine is at 6 weeks

hayleyfx · 05/06/2018 21:50

@laurie7 I’m paying £100 for my scan at 7 weeks. Very pricey but I live in the highlands (Scotland) and there’s not a lot of choice around here!! I could get one for £40 but means travelling to Perth so I’ll pass. It’s expensive but I would literally be beside myself with worry if I didn’t have an early scan 🤦‍♀️

Celebelly · 05/06/2018 21:59

Ooh @hayleyfx I'm in Aberdeenshire! We live in a village so it's a bit of a trek into the city for the scan but will be worth it!

hayleyfx · 05/06/2018 22:09

@Celebelly oh haven’t met anyone else in Scotland on here yet haha! Yeah, I was a bit shocked at the price but getting that reassurance (fingers crossed) is priceless! 🤞

jeanzbeanz · 05/06/2018 22:39

Hmm I was hoping I'd feel reassured by my scan but I've just been told by my brother in law (who is a medical fanatic / wannabe doctor) that it's basically pointless because anything could happen at any time, and I shouldn't count my chickens before they are hatched etc etc. Sad

hayleyfx · 05/06/2018 22:45

@jeanzbeanz wow I can’t believe he said that to you 😧 that’s the last thing you want to hear. My last bub stopped growing at 6 1/2 weeks but we didn’t find out until 11 weeks so my 7 week scan this time, if it’s good news, will be so reassuring for me despite future possibilities. Apparently, according to my midwife, if a heartbeat is heard at 7 or 8 weeks then the chance of MC goes down to 4-5% so it is definitely not pointless. If there’s a heartbeat then you have no reason not to be positive!! (That goes to everyone 😊) so don’t listen to that - worrying and negativity isn’t going to help!

hayleyfx · 05/06/2018 22:48

@jeanzbeanz oh and just want to say - I’m not sure if you’re close with your BIL or not so sorry if I offended you! Just felt annoyed on your behalf and all ladies here - the last thing we all need is negativity 😊

jeanzbeanz · 05/06/2018 22:52

@hayleyfx definitely no offence, thank you for your kind words. Xx
Wish I could stop being so anxious and just feel happy/pleased. Been so desperate to be pregnant, didn't expect to be so anxious once I got my BFP!

craftymum01 · 05/06/2018 22:55

Hi everyone, we got a bfp this week, due Feb 12 though my DS was 2 1/2 weeks early so we may not make February! I totally understand everyone's concerns. I had a 2nd trimester miscarriage in January so we have decided to wait until our 16 week scan (we have to have extras) before sharing the news. I am going to book a private 8 week scan though as it seems like an eternity away waiting until the 12 week scan! Congratulations to everyone, positive thoughts to you all!! xx

craftymum01 · 05/06/2018 22:56

Oh and I have done about 6 tests so far. My DH actually asked if he should pick me up some more when he was out as he knows how many I will do!

noseoftralee · 05/06/2018 23:20

craftymum you’re my due date twin!

craftymum01 · 06/06/2018 07:11

Seafoodeatit · 06/06/2018 08:43

anxiety is very common and normal in pregnancy, especially if it's taken you time to get there - I had that with my second, after 4 years of ttc the constant worry at the back of your mind can be overwhelming but you just have to get through it as best you can.

I took a two pack of clearblue tests last night - a digi and a regular one and I won't be testing again, I'll drive myself mad otherwise.

Does anyone else have to wait till around 7 weeks before they can book their appointment? it feels like the pregnancy is all in my head atm as the nausea hasn't kicked in yet.

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 06/06/2018 08:59

@Seafoodeatit I've got mine booked but it's not until the 5july!!! AGES away! I reckon I'll be 9+5 by then! I'm hoping it'll mean that the 12 week scan will be very shortly after so not much of a wait

angel0071987 · 06/06/2018 09:10

I just got a positive today. It's immediately after a m/c so not entirely sure wether to be feeling excited or not. Especially as this will be my 4th pregnancy (2 m/c's).
Guess cautiously optimistic is the theme of the day/month.
I'm also not entirely sure how to date it but guessing I'm around 5-6weeks. So due beginning of Feb!

Congrats all of you ladies too!!

Seafoodeatit · 06/06/2018 12:19

@TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong it'll come around sooner than you think, although it feels ages away now. I always think it goes quickly until the 20 week scan and then it goes slower and slower!

congratulations @angel0071987, I'm sorry to hear of your miscarriages, I hope this pregnancy goes smoothly for you.

noseoftralee · 06/06/2018 12:33

Tittifers I now have the Night Garden music rolling around my head

hannahetc · 06/06/2018 13:08

Hi all, I had a bit of a bleed yesterday. Panicked and came home from work so have had to tell a couple of colleagues. Saw my doctor and she’s booked me in for an early pregnancy scan tomorrow at the local hospital so now I’ve just got to wait and try not to stress. This is my first pregnancy and I’ll be 6 weeks tomorrow. Anyone have any experience or tips? ☹️
