BTW - interesting random thought I had today!! If you start leaking milk during pg, does that mean you lose your colostrum, or is that only produced once you've given birth?? Not that I am leaking, but just had a thought!!

BTW, you've totally put me off checking for triple Vs! They don't sound very attractive. Is it just pressure you feel? As I do have that a bit, but just put it down to the pain in my pelvis, whichis around the same area?

greedygreedyguzzler · 08/06/2007 20:34

just wrote a HUGE post and lost it.............v. peeed off, but will try and rem some of it

mrs - glad spotting has stopped. i think i know the type of baby books you mean, where you fill in all the details of your pg and baby's development, yes? i have had one each time! i love them!the one i have this time is a bit too detailed though, great for a first time mum with a bit more time though!

bodders - i have been wondering about babymad too....might do a search on her........stalker that i am!

had my 24 wk check today, all ok but bp a bit raised. think it was just cos i was rushing though cos i check it whenever i go to work and its always lovely and low!

a friend of mine who was 3 wks behind me with her pg lost her baby at 8 wks, but now she is pg again! i am so pleased for her! another firend was due 2 days ago, so i am excited about that too! fettlepettle - your BF (best friend, not breast feeding) must be due about now too?

chooster - the baby i treated had slight torticollis or wry neck from a difficult birth. basically, she turned her head to the right all the time!

iwillbe - i can sympathise with the ms, its horrible isn't it? not much you can do though i am afraid. if its any consolation, as soon as it stops you forget all about it and start dealing with the next ache/pain/problem! its fun this pg lark!!!............having said that, i feel positively blooming at the moment!!

have a great weekend all, i am off to a boring seminar tomorrow, but a fun BBQ on sunday.

sorry about all the typos but i am desperate to see eastenders that i have sky+d so that i acn drool over sean again! looks like dh is getting it again tonight!!!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 08/06/2007 20:39

hi fettlepettle - crossed with you!

my boobs leaked from about 12 wks last time. dont think my body had completely recovered from my previous pg. but i am sure it was colostrum and not milk coming out at the start for dd. milk only comes in once they have been stimulated and suckled a lot doesn't it.................see..............lucky for me, my dh ISN'T a boob man or i might have wasted all my colostrum last time on him!!!!

Chooster · 08/06/2007 21:22

Hey all - Ah eastenders was good toniht - I creied when baby tomas / george left. Sean was very mean and moody tonight

Fettle - The heaviness is really really low down with the VVV's. As there's very little you can do its probably best not to look as I'm sure I'm more aware of the discomfort now I know they are there. Hope your DH and DD wake up bright and cheerful tomorrow so you get a bit spoiled

You've inspired me to get one of those baby books (although its very late in the day at 34 wks!). I had one with DS but had more spare time so it was really enjoyable to fill in.

Bodkin - lovely to buy all those tiny tiny clothes.. Ahhhh .

I've hopefully got quite a quiet weekend ahead after a busy week at work. Taking DS to a party tomorrow afternoon and maybe the movies with a friend on Saturday. Fingers crossed for some sunshine

fettleandminifettle · 09/06/2007 11:22

Thanks Chooster - won't be getting the mirror out - ignorant bliss sounds the best option! do they just vanish after you've given birth? My mum got really bad VV on her legs and eventually had to have them operated on - keep checking the back of my legs and although I've prominent veins, I don't think they count as VV yet [I hate getting old!!! at least no grey hairs yet!!]

Greeds - BF is due on Monday! Her DS was 3 days late, but she had a long and difficult labour as she is tiny and he was pretty large! Hopefully this time round will be easier for her - can't wait to have cuddles, as it will be the littlest baby i know - everyone else's baby's are now over a year old, which doesn't really prepare you for the really tiny stages!!

Baby-books - definitely a good idea, although we were rubbish at filling in DD's, it was fun to look back through it recently and remember bits and peices that you would never remember like age of first teeth, when you felt the first kick etc. We've got one for this little one, as I don't want him feeling that he is different because he was 2nd. Realised that we have lots of blanks in DD's though, so we may have to make some educated guesses!!! Can't believe she is over 3 already! Just been and got her hair trimmed - she sat perfectly still, little angle. She'd looked through the hair magazines while we were waiting (after we'd exhausted all the car magazines, not sure where her fascination with cars has come from - but I approved of her choices!!!). anyway, hair magazines, she decided she wanted to look like Victoria Beckham - not sure I'd want her that skinny though, but she does have nice hair - not sure about it really really short though - DD's is half-way down her back and she was adamant that she didn't want it cut off! Personally, I'm glad as I love her with long hair and little bunches/plaits!! Don't suppose I'll be able to do that with a little boy will I?

Anyway, better go and rescue DH from the playground - both woke up much happier and better this morning, which is good.

Enjoy your weekends.

HIya

fettle- glad to hear DD and DH better today. My DD has long hair too, but I have to fight to get her to let my do plaits/bunches etc... I always have to threaten her with cutting it all off, just to let me brush it!

This morning she had a dress rehearsal for her ballet show... very sweet... but she hit a lady who was trying to do her hair in french plaits ... I was rather embarrassed, but the women was pulling her hair! Anyway, we compromised with 2 regular plaits.

Iwill- what was that 4d scan like then? I would love one, but can't justify the cost...I mean I could buy an amby nature nest with that money!

Bodders- Ahhhh the joy of little baby clothes. I can't wait! Dont feel I can buy any yet though. Mind you, I'm waiting for the arrival of some tot bots of a lady through MN... apparently they are hardly used, and she is sending me 5 for £12.50. Going to then get a few Bamboozles and Fluffles as well.

DP has taken DS and DD out shopping as it is my birthday tommorrow. . Dread to think what the kids choose me. For Christmas they bought me some gigantic fluffy pink slippers . DP is going to pay for me to go to the hairdressers... I think I need to be a bit grown up now and get over my hairdresser phobia! Also need to sort the grey hairs out .

Baby books sound lovely but I never did one for either of my DC, so I dont think I should start one now! Have masses of photos though. I also have some locks of hair from when they were babies, up until about 3 yrs old.

Love to everyone else xx

Hi All

Just had the most lovely day! My sister and brother with his girlfriend came for lunch and we spend the whole day in the garden. DD loved the attention and good old fun uncle came up with the great suggestion of putting the end of the slide in the paddling pool with the hose on to make a waterslide - it looked so much fun - if only I was pg and my hips had fitted down her slide I would have had a go!!!

Anyway, very shattered DD was asleep by 6.30.

Don't want to go to work tomorrow - I've timed this pg really badly - pg all the whole way through summer, no summer drinking and mat leave sun-bathing - just hot, swollen ankles and then cold winter nights for feeding!!! Pah!

Hope everyone else had a good weekend.

take care all

Hi all,

I am shattered too firststar - I took advantage of the fact that my boss is out of the office for today and tomorrow so I came home at midday to work from home. Sorry for the image but am just sitting here in my undies eating strawberrries for am feeling lots better than earlier today. Not sure if its the heat of just being mahoosive, but I have NO energy at all!!

The weekend sounds great Fettle - it sounds like you DD had a brilliant time. We had a good weekend too. DS had a party on Saturday and me and Dh took DS to the zoo on Sunday which he loved! All in all it was really lovely.

Two weeks left at work!!! Horray.... Feel like I'm on the home stretch now as I'm starting to hand things over.

Chooster · 11/06/2007 16:00

How was your birthday Honeyapple?!! HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY!!!!!

naked eating strawberries - never heard of that before, Chooster. Eating mangos naked in the bath now my mother taught me that - easier to clean up the mess (actually you're supposed to do it in the sea, but as I live miles away from the sea and she was talking about tropical seas, I think it would be too cold round here!!!).

My best friend had her little DD today, to add to her DS who is 3 weeks older than my DD. On her due date as well - contractions started at 5am and all born by 4.15pm. So pleased for her, as she had a long and drawn out labour last time. Feeling a bit impatient to get my baby out now she's got hers, but I have to be patient. It's the first time I've really felt my last mc, as we were only 10 weeks behind then, now it is over 3 months. But at least it is only 3 months, I might not even be pg, I suppose! Also got me worrying about the whole labour thing, wasn't particularly worried last time - think I'll cack it with you Firsty!!

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to cuddles with new baby!

Hope you had a good birthday, Honey - what did you get for a present from the DC?

Hope everyone else is ok - bit quiet today and over the weekend.

honeyapple · 11/06/2007 19:13

Hiya-

Well actually I got a surprisingly good pressie from DC- think DP might have had a hand in the choosing this time . Its a digital picture frame thingy- so you can load your photos to it and it shows them, as if in a regular picture frame. On a slide show setting, or it changes the photo every day or whatever... mind you we are a cable missing so no photos on it yet! My mum gave me some money, so thinking what to spend it on .
Had a busy day as it was my DD's ballet show... so spent most of it in a small dressing room with 20+ little girls, trying to sort out hair/ costumes/ make-up! etc.
All went well though, although DD totally knackered today- and has subsequently been a complete nightmare. DP took her to her room an hour ago to calm down, and she has fallen asleep.

Just found out that a mum from school is due first week of November. She has a son in DS's class. I had noticed she was PG a while ago... so decided to tell her about me being PG too... thought she would be ahead of me as she is quite big, so was really surprised when she said beginning of November- mind you, I think she was more shocked when I said I was due end of October! Still not much of a bump to show off... But getting there!

Iwillbe- hope you had a great time in Dublin and your 21st was a good one. I was 21 when PG with my DS.

Chooster · 11/06/2007 19:52

Great news about your best friend fettle - it good that is all went a bit smoother this time. You're having a DS this time aren't you? Hopefully you can have a big baby clothes swap as she has a DD this time.

Great present from DC honeyapple - My DH saw them in a shop and they look fab! Really good idea and nice to see a new picture every now and again. Ahhh, poor DD she must be knackered!

Have got to say it felt very liberating working in my bra and pants (at home obviously ) - the room I work in gets very hot when the suns out, and it was lovely!!

Hope all the other ladies are doing OK!

fettleandminifettle · 11/06/2007 20:02

Chooster - I would have a big baby clothes swap, but as most of her DS's clothes were hand me downs from her two sisters, I think her DD will be better off than my DS!!! but DD does have some beautiful clothes, which are barely worn.

For some reason feeling a bit sad tonight - I should be over the moon (and I am for her), but for some reason this is making me really feel my 2 mc's more than ever. Thank goodness I am pg, as it would have been awful if I hadn't even got my little one moving around inside me, reminding me of what I've got to be happy about. How selfish do I sound? Sorry

Think I'll just put it down to hormonal pg woman-syndrome!!! Also spent the day training on combined oral contraception at work and was reminded that the risks of pg far outweigh any risks of the pill! Great thanks for that vote of confidence!!

Anyway, great present honey - we've got one of those picture frames and I love it - need to change the photos on it though, as I'm bored of the ones on there now! Great thing about them, is you can change when you get bored!!

Hello all hope you are all well! I haven't got time to catch up as sooo sleepy but I am just putting you back on my radar for the morning!

BabyMadandBIGbump · 12/06/2007 10:17

Hi everyone sorry I haven't been on for a while but long story.
How are you all? what have you been upto?
Off to see my MW this morning, cant sleep at all a few bad hours is all I'm managing, feeling feed up now, nursery ready (put some pictures on l8er tell me what you think), names picked and the belly is as big as it can get without popping, but only 7+3 to go (52 days) and very much counting. Going for another scan in 3 weeks to see if this dam placenta has moved so I can have the HB I want and my 2 DS's are coming to the scan too they so cant wait to see the baby on a TV, bless. At the weekend I looked after a 3 week old baby for a few hours he was so sweet and so very tiny (7lb 1oz) DH was all over him like a rash, bless, really REALLY cant wait for this LO!
Back l8er!

Chooster · 12/06/2007 12:40

hello all!

busy busy weekend, and complete tip of a house to come home to with a thick layer of brick dust over EVERYTHING, including the fruit in the fruit bowl!......why didnt i think to move that before we had walls knocked down hey? how dense am i?!!

nice to have you back babymad! we were all wondering what had happened to you, and you still haven't told us yet!

fettle - i wont tell my poor freind who was due BEFORE your friend that yours has had her baby! my friend is still waiting and getting very pissed off! i can understand that cos i was quite late first time and i hated it!

i am very jealous of your lack of bump honeyapple! i am huge! dont really mind though at the moment! quite like my nice big bump, just worried about getting stretchmarks! i got one tiny little one when pg with ds at about wk 39 and the same with dd! its like i get one each pg as a little souvenir! have a horrible feeling i might be in for more than one this time though!

pinkb - is getting really close now isn't she?!

is everyone going to carry on posting on here once they have popped then?

greedygreedyguzzler · 12/06/2007 14:00

firsty - i willl be getting my 2 a pressie from the baby, but i think it is generally suggested for kids a bit younger than your step daughters. they are old enough to understand what is happening and be happy for the right reasons arent they? they wont really feel excluded or jealous, will they?

KitKat30 · 12/06/2007 15:25

Hello - just waving a quick hello! Sorry I havent written anything for ages, just been sooo busy at work. Hope everyone is OK and feeling fine? Think we should definitely stay on here once we've popped - cant think of anyone else I'd rather share the trials and tribulations of anewborns with!!

PinkB's due a week today isnt she? Where are you hon - give us a little post before then so we know you're OK!

Crap rubbishy quick post I know - but just wanted to say hellooo and I havent forgotten about you lovely ladies!
