Can someone direct me to the March thread please? Or shall we start a new one? I feel like the old one has completely disappeared into the depths of the mumsnet sea.

We're getting close now and wanted to see how everyone was as I'm due the 7th Smile

All the best to you all lovely pregnant ladies

Thanks Pottery! I've had summer babies before so had no clue on how the weather would be for March. Probably is a good idea to have a soft all in one like you say, the journey home from hospital is what I'm worried about since it can get cold walking from the hospital to the car park. I will see if I can order one online just incase.

HazyDays81 · 02/02/2018 08:41

I’m feeling pretty disorganised for baby no. 3. Really must get my labour bag packed just in case he’s early (due 15 March). Anyone else been having lots of Braxton Hicks? Yesterday afternoon I had loads. Certainly feels more real thinking baby will be here next month!

sammy891 · 02/02/2018 09:07

@HazyDays81 I'm having baby number 3 as well but it's after a 5 year gap so everything feels brand new! Trying to get everything organized now that I know it's February and baby will be here soon. Definitely started getting Braxton Hicks which makes me worry if they are the real thing and baby could be coming early Shock

HazyDays81 · 02/02/2018 09:49

@sammy891 there’s a 4.5 year gap between 2 & 3 for me. Everyone keeps saying you know what you’re doing but it feels like ages ago! I guess it’ll all come flooding back?! When is your due date?

sammy891 · 02/02/2018 09:54

@HazyDays81 I'm due in the third week of March, they keep changing the due date so who knows when little one makes an appearance! I started packing the baby clothes yesterday and am going to order a pramsuit or little jacket now for the journey home. Are you all prepared for the new arrival?

Potteryprincess30 · 02/02/2018 10:14

@sammy891 there are so many sales at the moment so good plan, but honestly eaby is your friend Smile You can pick up a petit bateau, john lewis, or little white company one for about 5 pounds.

I got mine from eBay and they were absolutely immaculate

@HazyDays81 i'm getting the hicks too! does this mean the baby could be coming earlier do you think? I hadn't had them before

Thank you so much @Potteryprincess30! Now the problem is I want them all haha will pick out a gender neutral one from one of these, some lovely bargains!

Potteryprincess30 · 02/02/2018 10:32

@sammy891 eBay definitely is the one for the tiny stage as they just grow so fast but these clothes are such good quality they can be kept for more babies or sold on too.

I want them all obviously and I already have 3! I think even at ten pounds including delivery these are absolute bargains as they are so expensive 'new'.

They have to be washed anyway when they are new so I will pretty much always get more substantial items like this from eBay Smile

@sammy891 I don’t feel ready just yet but will get there! We have a new car arriving on Weds next week to fit all 3 car seats. In the middle of decorating the nursery & need to pack my labour bag. I was overdue with my 2 DS so assume I’ll be the same again but you never know...!

@potteryprincess30 I’m having a lot of Braxton Hicks again today, more than in my previous pregnancies. I know it’s a sign of your body preparing for labour but whether it means baby will be early who knows!

Potteryprincess30 · 02/02/2018 15:49

@HazyDays81 I never had them before so was quite a supprise the other night, thought it was starting!

Had my pain relief antenatal class today.. and found it very informative. I'm just wondering have any of you mums used a tens machine before??

Potteryprincess30 · 02/02/2018 22:59

@Mugglenet the tens machine certainly killed an hour or so with faffing around for me personally in my last labour. So that was a positive (plus it was free)

But as as pain relief device it was completely useless i'm afraid, it just didn't 'do' anything Hmm

Hi everyone, hope it's OK to join in!? Is this a thread that is active via mumsnet or Facebook? I understand that the original Facebook group from the March antenatal thread is now closed unfortunately for new members and I could really do with a place to talk with other mums to be!

I'm 35 weeks today due on the 9th of March, first baby. Expecting a little girl!

Has everyone been told that their babies are head down at this stage? My midwife has informed me that my baby is in the transverse position and a c section might well be on the cards for me! (Yikes!)

Potteryprincess30 · 03/02/2018 08:47

@Onceuponamama welcome! This was set up for people who either didn't have face flaps, preferred catching up on mumsnet, or liked to use both groups basically.

Your due a few days after me and I'm having a girl too Smile

My baby has been head down since my 34 week appointment, but my last baby was 8 years ago so I am still feeling some anxiety about the day it all kicks off.

When's your 36 week appointment? Mines Monday

@potteryprincess30 you don't recommend hiring one then. I'm so against epiduaral. It's the unknown that I want to be prepped for

Potteryprincess30 · 03/02/2018 23:20

@Mugglenet I really think they are just a distraction, but you may find that helpful so it is always hard to say 'don't bother'. I personally and anyone I know who tried them in labour however did not find this contraption helpful in the least, the thing seemed utterly useless and for labour it just didnt help at all. I can imagine for muscle pain and stiffness them being good but when your pacing around and this thing is giving you small electric shocks as you contract it actually kind of makes things worse.

I found it like another level or torture when a back rub would have been so much nicer. This device is a no from me! but it did kill a bit of time and it was free for us to hire too so knock yourself out if that's the case your end and fancy trying it. Don't spend any money on the thing though Smile

Tens was a must for me. Didn't have it first time. Did 2nd. The difference!

HazyDays81 · 04/02/2018 08:08

@mugglenet I used a Tens machine for my 2 previous labours & found it did help a bit in the earlier stages. More as a distraction when getting through contractions. When I was in proper active labour it was the last thing I wanted & remember ripping it off!

Burstingwithlife · 04/02/2018 08:16

Hi x I’ll be having my little one around 10th March. Rib pain is there 😫
Just had a growth scan as I’m 42 (5th baby) and she’s measured a good size. I’m relieved I don’t have to wait for my actual 40 week due date. It’s standard practise to deliver older mums st 38 weeks thank goodness. One more scan on 38th Feb. I’m slready at home with my 2 year old. Well done all you working tummy mummies. Has it made the last few weeks whizz by for you? X

Burstingwithlife · 04/02/2018 08:20

I know exactly what you mean. With my first I had my bag packed practically seconds after conception Grin yet with this one I haven’t packed a single thing. I have however sorted clothes etc and have many items from my 2 year old but as for all the glorious items we mums require, ie breast pads, towels, nursing bras, I have nothing. Was planning on getting the week before I’m due but starting to think yikes! X

blinkineckmum · 04/02/2018 08:58

I need to get organised too. 34 weeks now and 1 week left at work. I need to pack the hospital bag, buy a chest of drawers, finish sorting clothes, order the tens, blow up an exercise ball...
