We're getting close now and wanted to see how everyone was as I'm due the 7th

@Anya1981 @MissTFied - that is so exciting! Is it your first(S)? Let us know what kind of sensations you're both having - pls keep us posted. I had low period style cramps last night and 'bum pressure' but all gone today x

I don't want to say the c word yet, in case it jinxes things, as I said this happened last night and came to nothing.

This is my 5th baby, so you'd think I'd remember, but last one was born 7 years ago!

@Jjpeston the sensation is of a hard tightening just above the public bone area and along. At the moment it seems to help if I tap tap tap on the sofa and circle my toes, or if I get up and walk to the loo.

Oh bloomin' things have tailed off a bit now. Still, it all contributes to getting me ready.
I have a really good German TV series to watch to take my mind off things, then I hope to get a decent night's sleep.
If this one decides to come tomorrow, it would be really handy to come in school hours!

@MissTFied why must they toy with us?! I never had it with my last, felt the same right up until the contractions and stomach business started. This pregnancy, hit 39 weeks last wednesday and ive had all the braxton hicks, period pains/cramps, lower back niggles. Now resigned it's all false alarms and will be pregnant for another week at least no doubt

@Potteryprincess30 thank you! I was just writing some more when I had another tightening! You are bringing them back. Last one was 30 mins ago. I am tracking via an app.

@MissTFied yes! pretend they are not the real thing and they will become the real thing, reverse psychology

@misstfied, very annoyingly my contractions seem to be subsiding too! It was like a strong, period-like contraction that lasted about 30second and then ease off. I only had 2 in the last hour, whereas before they were coming every 10min! Perhaps it’s my fault for watching Italian crime drama instead of something warm and fuzzy that would release more oxytocin, 😉 anyway, hopefully that means something is happening. This is my first baby.

The thing is I spend all my days wishing things will start, then when it looks like they might, I get scared!

I am being dramatic here, I know I can do it, have done it 4 times before only on gas and air. Still...

Hey ladies,

this is my first so I have no idea what to expect but this eve since about 9pm i've been getting intermittent sharp pains in my lower abdomen which feel really deep down and tightenings across my bump. Just had another one just now which prompted me to post.

Well I’ve managed to sleep for almost 5hrs, which is not bad! Pain didn’t keep me awake, so can’t be proper labour, but still having the odd contraction. Will see how it goes today.
@thaigreencurry82, that’s exciting! My bump doesn’t seem to be tightening with those contractions, which makes me think it’s trapped wind after all 😉a bit too intense a pain though to be that, I hope. Anyway, how are you feeling today?
@MissTFied, haha! That’s not what a first time mother want to hear 😉!

Managed to get a few hours sleep, and was woken by a couple of tightenings but am now awake. Tightenings averaging every 30 mins now.
My aim is to make it until the other DC are safely at school to save bothering my mum coming out, oh and for Ddog to be walked by DP, then I can go for it, so 10 -11 am would be a good time to go in to hospital baby, do you hear?!!

@thaigreencurry82 that sounds like the early labour, like what I was having last night and the night before. How are things now? Are you tracking the pains on an app?

@Anya1981 I see you are up too! Same sort of stage as me.

Just think, it can't be that bad if this mad bint has done it 4 times before!
