Can someone direct me to the March thread please? Or shall we start a new one? I feel like the old one has completely disappeared into the depths of the mumsnet sea.

We're getting close now and wanted to see how everyone was as I'm due the 7th Smile

All the best to you all lovely pregnant ladies

@Twitchett22 how are you feeling today?

Twitchett22 · 05/03/2018 15:32

@Potteryprincess30 not sure lol! Still BH and some cramps but nothing exciting. Painting and decorating today in the hope it will encourage her lol. Still losing mucus plug but no more blood. Would just love my waters to break really haha

Ro2017 · 05/03/2018 15:50

Yes this is my first baby so the anticipation is killing me (though it doesn't sound like it gets any easier with subsequent babies!). We are having a little girl Smile
We are planning a home birth so I'm hoping she makes her appearance in the next 10 days or so so that I can resist induction!
Is this your first baby?

Potteryprincess30 · 05/03/2018 16:24

@Twitchett22 ther ecan only be a certain amount of time after the loss of the plug surely that things will start so I think we can safely say you will have a baby by the end of the week. That probably seems an age away though, even my midwife appointment tomorrow evening seems a long wait Grin

@Ro2017 a girl here too ( my last baby is 8 in 2 weeks). Exciting to have the baby at home, did consider it but going to a midwife lead unit, its only 5 minutes up the road so very close.

@Potteryprincess30 I've felt a bit crampy after the sweep but nothing now. Another 1 to go on Wednesday and hopefully this gets things moving along nicely.

MissTFied · 05/03/2018 16:44

Hi all, didn't think I'd need to be on here, as I was due on 22nd Feb!
Seems like an age ago, so 41 + 4 here, and getting mighty impatient. The nights are the worst feeling very uncomfy and not sleeping until the early hours.
I have been keeping up the daily walks though. Had a sweep at 40+6, not favourable.

Will be seeing the midwife Weds, so 1 day before scheduled induction at 42 weeks. I will ask for another sweep, not because I think they do much, but just to see if things are loosening up down there!

Potteryprincess30 · 05/03/2018 16:51

@MissTFied oh lord you must be absolutely ready for induction now i'd imagine. I do think the dates they give are a bit Hmm but now your heading towards the 42 week mark its definitely time to do that Thursday isn't it. It's international women's day Thursday too Smile

@Potteryprincess30 Ahh lovely you are having a girl too! I ummed and aahhed for ages about home birth but we live really close to the hospital so figured if anything happens we can always transfer. Have you felt any twinges yet?
@LoveRainbow02 How far along were you when you had your sweep? I have been offered one this week but not sure what to do.
@MissTFied wow well done for making it to 41+4. Not long now until you will be with your baby though it must be so frustrating to be still waiting!

MissTFied · 05/03/2018 17:01

Thanks both.
Yes, I am more than ready to meet my baby, but am in two minds about whether to be induced. I know I can choose monitoring over induction. My midwife said to go along to the hospital anyway and explain that to them.
All of my babies have been late, the latest was 40+11, so perhaps this one is going for the record? Never been induced before, they just came.

HazyDays81 · 05/03/2018 17:06

@potteryprincess30 I cannot find my birthing ball from previous pregnancies, it must be in the loft somewhere! I did think I could have a go on my DS’s space hopper but worried it might pop!

I have just had midwife appt (38+5 today) she said baby is engaged. I thought he was as keep feeling pressure which I’ve seen descibed as ‘lightning crotch’!

Midwife said lots of sex & eat a whole fresh pineapple a day if I want to bring it on!

@MissTFied really hope you’re not waiting too much longer... I went 7 days over with DS1 & 8 days over with DS2 so feel for you. At least you know it won’t be much longer.

@LoveRainbow02 & @Twitchett22 sounds like you’re soon be holding your gorgeous babies Smile

Potteryprincess30 · 05/03/2018 17:06

@HazyDays81 the idea of that space hopper popping has made my life right now!

OP posts:
Potteryprincess30 · 05/03/2018 17:10

@HazyDays81 yes it can also be described as 'fanny daggers' Grin

I feel like your close Hazy now, engagement sounds promising

Ro2017 · 05/03/2018 17:12

@Potteryprincess30 Thanks, I had a read of that earlier! Definitely some useful information. I think I'll hold off for now and see how things go. I'm generally of the belief that most of the time things will happen when they are meant to happen. I feel the same as you about induction @MissTFied. Just do what you feel comfortable with and don't let them pressure you Smile

Anya1981 · 05/03/2018 17:25

I had my midwife appointment today, due date tomorrow. She mentioned she could do a sweep, but felt the baby and it’s only 3/5 engaged, like it has been for the last 6 weeks. So I said no to a sweep, and she agreed it might not do much. Will have one next Monday, and then at 40 + 7 I can have aromatherapy massage at the birthing centre, which sounds rather nice!
It’s very unnerving, isn’t it? Just waiting for something to happen, getting excited at every new symptom? I’m having a lot of cramping in my lower belly again today, but am not getting excited, think it’s just this awful wind I’ve been suffering from for the last 2 weeks!
Good luck you all, due in the next few days.

Anya1981 · 05/03/2018 17:29

@Ro2017, welcome! Funnily enough i’m Very lethargic today, keep falling asleep on the sofa! Thought it was the weather, but maybe you’re right and our bodies know a big effort is imminent 😉

HazyDays81 · 05/03/2018 18:00

@Potteryprincess30 yep can see why they may be called that! Went for a walk yesterday & it happened a couple of times, think DH thought labour was imminent. Imagine I’ll still be waiting a while yet but was good to hear from my midwife that baby is engaged & low. Nice to have you lovely ladies to virtual chat to Smile

LoveRainbow02 · 05/03/2018 18:16

@Ro2017 I am 37+3 today and I'll be 37+5 when I have my next sweep. I was quite shocked I even got one today. I only went in for monitoring for reduced movements. Doctor said she wanted to do an internal and upon doing so realised my cervix was favourable and was able to do a sweep. Looking at getting an induction date for next week when I'm back on Wednesday.

MissTFied · 05/03/2018 19:18

Been having very uncomfortable, toe curling twinges for the past 30 mins, so something is going on, though also had these twinges last night at this time.

Eek!

Potteryprincess30 · 05/03/2018 19:34

@MissTFied eek indeed! I am very hungry for a live birth thread on this thread so keep us posted!

OP posts:
Potteryprincess30 · 05/03/2018 19:35

should have said 'keen' not 'hungry' Grin

Hungry for a live birth sounded weird Hmm

I think a slight mania has befallen me now

OP posts:
Anya1981 · 05/03/2018 19:48

Well I have to say that what I believed to be trapped wind is becoming a bit regular and quite intense at the moment... how about two live births? 😉
