Can someone direct me to the March thread please? Or shall we start a new one? I feel like the old one has completely disappeared into the depths of the mumsnet sea.

We're getting close now and wanted to see how everyone was as I'm due the 7th Smile

All the best to you all lovely pregnant ladies

I'm the same with the one track mind at the minute. Baby/birth baby/birth on a loop. 38 weeks tomorrow. Still loads to do and one of the DC is ill Hmm and under my feet a bit. I'm really hoping the other doesn't get it too.

Also I seem to be developing a double chin.

So much frigging cleaning and sorting of cupboards to be done. I could just not do it but I have this strong sense that the baby won't come until I feel psychologically ready. I had such a strong feeling of 'I'm ready' last time once I'd finished all the manic cleaning, and sure enough dc2 arrrived the next day.

Better get off Mumsnet!

Seems like we're in for some cold weather too over the next couple of weeks!

blinkineckmum · 22/02/2018 11:19

Cold weather is good. Baby snuggling!

Sunny1981 · 22/02/2018 11:37

Cold weather makes you feel less bad for hibernating away Wink

Checking in! No sign of anything yet. I take t everyone has already packed their bags? I’ve been terribly lazy about it this time, not helped by the fact that I was in hospital for all of 9 hours last time (discharged 7 hours post-delivery) so I feel like there’s not much point packing anything! I’ve packed a bag for baby, and half heartedly put aside a pack of pants and maternity pads for myself. I can envision a panicked throwing of things into a bag between contractions...

chiruri · 22/02/2018 11:49

@HalfStar hi due date twin Grin

Potteryprincess30 · 22/02/2018 11:53

@blinkineckmum hang in there! You are doing a fantastic job with having not just one, but two other little ones to look after. This short month is thankfully nearly done and dusted Smile

I have my bag ready, will start baby’s today. Really have no idea about sizes to pack, my newborn sized items are tiny compared to the 0-1 month and 0-3 month sizes. May pack a selection Smile

Potteryprincess30 · 22/02/2018 12:04

@Sunny1981your still working! You must be so pleased it's nearly your leave now. I'm pretty much the same as you , was 38 week last Tuesday so really excited for March now. Same same with the heartburn, it's pretty much my only small gripe except usual pregnancy 'aesthetics' (the face, the junk in the trunk....)

@HalfStarlol on the double chin....so much right now Grin

Thank you pottery! Baby's bag is packed. Mine needs a bit of work. I was very blase the first time but my contractions were full on straight away and I had no time to throw things together. Get packing ladies! I posted some lists a few pages back if you find them helpful.

Potteryprincess30 · 22/02/2018 12:06

@Sunny1981just a couple of each, 4 grows, and 4 vests will be plenty. If you have any kind of extended stay your partner can always go home to get any more too but I honestly think that is a fine amount

chiruri · 22/02/2018 12:11

I made the mistake of packing 0-3 month stuff last time, and DD came out an absolutely weeny 6lb2oz! My mum had to swing by Mothercare to buy some tiny baby vests just so we could get out the hospital. This baby is going to be much bigger (predicted 7.5-8lb) so I’ve packed a mix of newborn and 0-1 month sleepsuits and vests. Luckily we only live 15 minutes from the hospital, and both my hubby and I work there so we can probably source most things if I have an unanticipated long stay. Keeping fingers crossed I’m in and out like last time, though!

Potteryprincess30 · 22/02/2018 12:14

@blinkineckmum it feels really good one that hospital bag is done, it seems like most other stuff can totally slide but having it done is really reasuring. Not just if early labour happens but also just having a portable bag, organised with essentials for both yourself and the baby. It took me so long to do it but I've felt really relaxed about the labour ever since sorting it out

Lots of good tips, thanks Smile I’ll go with four vests and babygros and as you say, my OH can always pop Home for more or the correct size! Not sure what size he or she will be, I haven’t had a scan since my 20 wk one, but have measured on the 90/95 centile throughout. MW said that they feel like a tall baby. Just can’t wait to see him or her in person now Smile

Sunny1981 · 22/02/2018 12:20

Yes potteryprincess, still working. My employers are very good and I’ve felt well to keep going, looking forward to finishing though!!

Potteryprincess30 · 22/02/2018 12:20

@chiruri sounds good, I've just packed 2 X baby grow in tiny, 2 X in up to one month and 3 vests in newborn. Fingers crossed for another quickie (though not in the hallway on the way out sort of quickie!).

I too was in around 9am and out by about half 5pm the same day last time so we both better not leave going in too late this time round!

Sorry, repeat messages... I’m sure I’d read somewhere that when the baby moves down, the heartburn eases off, no such luck for us lol

chiruri · 22/02/2018 12:24

I’ve been on Omeprazole for a couple of weeks now and my heartburn has completely disappeared. It’s made such a huge difference, I can’t recommend it enough. Prior to that I was up all night unable to lie flat due to the pain. Seriously consider speaking to your GP about trying it. At this stage we need all the rest we can get.

Potteryprincess30 · 22/02/2018 12:24

@Sunny1981 your doing incredibly still, the mornings and early afternoons are probably fine if your feeling physically ok, but from around 3pm it gets a bit of a slog (I find this, full of beans till after lunch then im basically useless by late afternoon now!)

OP posts:
chiruri · 22/02/2018 12:29

@Potteryprincess30 that’s so funny, as I’m the total opposite. I cannot get going until lunchtime, but have much more energy in the afternoon/evening. There’s no way I could be working now, I’m just exhausted!

Potteryprincess30 · 22/02/2018 12:30

My heartburns never bad enough to stop me sleeping so I usually just chew those tablets....though I suspect my partner of hiding them as I do have a habit of eating them like sweets Hmm

Admittedly, anything edible put in front of me is usually consumed in this manner!

OP posts:
chiruri · 22/02/2018 12:33

The Gaviscon tablets are good, I was using them loads before the omeprazole. Hopefully they keep keeping yours at bay!

Potteryprincess30 · 22/02/2018 12:34

@chiruri we are living each others mirror lives Grin I'm like a beached whale once I've collected my daughter from school at 3-30, to be totally honest when I collect her my eyes are open, my legs are walking, bit my brain is gone! Comatose. God only knows what I'll agree to at the school gates by next week!

OP posts:
Potteryprincess30 · 22/02/2018 12:38

@chiruri also my first, my daughter, was 6.5 pounds so I assumed this next girl would be similar size ish. How did you find out your next one's predicted weigh? I'd be very interested in this ! I'm measuring a cm behind on weeks, is it something to do with that?

OP posts:
Potteryprincess30 · 22/02/2018 12:39

And true, I probably only have morning energy due to not being at work or having toddlers that's a given I think! Otherwise I would be absolutely exhausted

OP posts:
chiruri · 22/02/2018 13:03

It’s based on my fundal height (which I know isn’t hugely accurate but I’m definitely bigger time time than last time). Been measuring just over a week over throughout my pregnancy. Here’s a bump comparison - approx 38/40 in both. Totally different shape, with a bigger and more prominent bump this time around.
