Hi there,

Does anyone feel like a chat?

Age: 34
TTC: 11 months
Due: July 2018

I had vivid dreams in the two week wait. Since BFP I've just had mildly sensitive boobs.

My colleague has just announced his wife is pregnant, they've just had their first scan, I can't help but feel he's stolen my thunder a little bit!

Brettgirl · 18/01/2018 15:44

Nice pressie just arrived from the hubby, 12 foot pillow, I'll let you know!

LMX0 · 18/01/2018 17:33

Ohhh i love mine 12ft though is some size i dont think id know what to do with half of it 😂😂

Heregoeseverything · 18/01/2018 18:25

What exactly does one do with a pregnancy pillow?!

BuffalotheGruffalo · 18/01/2018 18:34

I need a massive pillow I think. Been cuddling a normal pillow which helps loads but I need a bigger one.

We had our bloods back this week. I have low PAP-A and came back as 1-120 for Downs so this evening we've been for a private NIPT. Had another scan but baby kept wriggling around so couldn't get a good picture, not as good as the one we got on Monday but was nice to see him/her again. The bloods will also tell us if it's a boy or girl so am hoping that the Downs result comes back low then we can be excited knowing what we are having.

LMX0 · 18/01/2018 19:56

@Heregoeseverything i have found it helps me sleep more comfortably and giges you support ive also found it helped my back as mine has a big that goes between your legs
@BuffalotheGruffalo whats PAP-A? Awww wee monkey its great seeing them again i hope your result for downs is low will you share what you having or keep hush?

BuffalotheGruffalo · 18/01/2018 20:00

It's a hormone that gets measured and if it's low can count towards the higher downs numbers but basically baby could be a slow grower or be born prematurely ao I'd be monitored really closely throughout. The NIPT is very accurate though so hopefully that'll provide some reassurance.

BuffalotheGruffalo · 18/01/2018 20:01

I'm quite happy people knowing what we're having. I've never understood the whole keeping the sex a secret, I think it's quite nice knowing but obviously it's always personal choice.

LMX0 · 18/01/2018 20:27

@BuffalotheGruffalo I cant wait to find out and what Ive noticed lately is that there are not very much neutral colours for baby clothes its mainly blues or pinks well i hope all goes well for you, when will you get your results?

Heregoeseverything · 19/01/2018 09:56

Good luck with the testing, @Buffalo.

@LMX0 This is definitely true, I find it annoying, 80% plus of baby clothes on the high street seems to be pink or blue. It's so unimaginative. One of my best friends had a little boy and was commenting on this so I went on a shopping spree of rainbow colours for him but it was surprisingly difficult to avoid blue! And I really don't want my daughter princessified from birth. No issue with the odd pink, but I hate the thought that there is almost a uniform you are supposed to stamp them with as soon as they are born.

LMX0 · 19/01/2018 10:23

@Heregoeseverything i totally agree what happened to lemon and other neutral colours? Although boots seem to have a few things in mint which are lovely but there isn't very much

Heregoeseverything · 19/01/2018 16:56

@LMX0 My DM says it wasn't like this when I was little, and it certainly wasn't when she was little - it's odd that things seem to have gone backwards in terms of pink/blue everything... and after blue and navy the next most popular baby boy colour seems to be dark grey, which is just so depressing for a wee man!

I love colour, I can't wait to dress my children like rainbows, I just need the shops to meet me halfway... Grin

LMX0 · 19/01/2018 17:07

@Heregoeseverything have you had a look online? It may be more promising!! I love light grey but dark can be too dark

BuffalotheGruffalo · 19/01/2018 17:21

@LMXO We should know in 10 days so not awful but still two whole weekends to get through. If I didn't feel so ill I'd just keep very busy and hopefully the time would fly but I've a horrible feeling I'll be bed bound again this weekend.

I'm not particularly bothered by blue/pink but most clothes do tend to be very gendered. I liked neutral on DS as a baby, he looked gorgeous in little white outfits with a bit of yellow. There is nothing more gorgeous than a tiny baby in a crisp white sleep suit!

Heregoeseverything · 19/01/2018 17:26

@Buffalo Not to get your hopes up but I would recommend that you call them next Friday to make sure the results aren't in. I think they usually err on the side of caution in giving a time estimate (and in my case anyway they wouldn't ring the client, the client had to ring them). I was told mine would be back within 14 days but they had the results when I rang them 8 days later.

BuffalotheGruffalo · 19/01/2018 18:18

I'm secretly hoping they'll be back by next friday. I suspect they have a good turn around. If it's good news they just email you, if it's bad then they ring you first.

LMX0 · 19/01/2018 18:43

@BuffalotheGruffalo ohh yes im with you on the crisp white sleep suits and time is going sooooo sloooow atm i find out 5 weekends away feels like FOREVER please tell me pregnancy does speed up however on the up side one more more week until im in the 2 trimester YAY!!! I hope you get your results back a little bit earlier

Ive just sat and cried at a tv ad 😭😂 and had to stop myself crying in a cafe eariler as i was reading a story on fb (i had to stop reading) stupid hormones!!!

BuffalotheGruffalo · 19/01/2018 19:27

Ahh, the second trimester, where sickness disappears, you're full of energy and glow a healthy pregnancy glow...... I bet I'm going to just carry on feeling as rough as I have for the last trimester. I officially entered second trimester today....... still feel sick:D

LMX0 · 19/01/2018 21:53

Lets hope the second is alot nicer to us all!!!

Brettgirl · 20/01/2018 13:14

Have you tried looking at Patpat? There are some adorable colourful unisex bits! Xx

Heregoeseverything · 20/01/2018 14:44

I've heard some people say the first trimester is 12 weeks and others 14 weeks, which is it...?

Nausea and vomiting much better here at 16 weeks, but ravenous and headachey!

BuffalotheGruffalo · 20/01/2018 15:01

I'm not sure actually, I've read different things too but last night saw something saying 13 weeks so I'll go with that as that's where I'm at. I'm not sure just saying it will mean the sickness magically disappears though!

Flatwhite32 · 20/01/2018 16:39

I started to feel better this week (13 weeks, nearly 14) but have had a little nausea the past 2 days, although I've had an extremely busy week which doesn't help. What I have noticed are very strong hunger surges.

LMX0 · 20/01/2018 17:28

According to the NHS its 14 weeks is the start to trim 3 i looked it up as i was very confused as well!!! Im also headachy here too and nearly eating 5/6 times a day (making up for weeks of missing meals) @Brettgirl thanks i must have a look what is their price range like?

Brettgirl · 20/01/2018 17:56

Just to add to the confusion this is what the bounty app says..
