Hi there,

Does anyone feel like a chat?

Age: 34
TTC: 11 months
Due: July 2018

I had vivid dreams in the two week wait. Since BFP I've just had mildly sensitive boobs.

My colleague has just announced his wife is pregnant, they've just had their first scan, I can't help but feel he's stolen my thunder a little bit!

Congratulations!! So exciting :) I think I'm going to wait until the baby is born. But I can see the temptation! Although saying that I'm only 4 wks and 4 days.. Whether I can wait the full 9 months we will have to see!!

Thank you @peachesarenom and @peterpanwendy. The anxiety is awful! I have booked a scan for next Fri as I can't handle waiting until the 12 week one. I was tempted by having one tomorrow as they did have a slot, but then I thought if it's bad Xmas will be ruined, so I decided to wait. That's what miscarriage does to you unfortunately.

Heregoeseverything · 21/12/2017 19:03

Thanks @user and @peaches !

To be totally honest @peaches if sex was something that parents choose rather than being random I would have chosen a girl (or more accurately, in an ideal world at least one of the two children we plan to have would be a girl), so this is the icing on the cake. But I was genuinely not disappointed earlier when I thought it was a boy, I think because I'm so conscious of all of the things that can go wrong (especially after my horrible and vivid miscarriage nightmare last night!) and when it seemed to be a healthy little boy I was skipping out of the clinic this morning!

It was strange finding out such important results over the phone, I just rang them on the off-chance the results were back...

LMX0 · 21/12/2017 20:22

@peachesarenom yip spud its a really random one i know lol and i would like a girl (but will love a boy the same)
@Flatwhite32 awww that is awful but im glad to say congrats!!! Have u a scan date?
@peterpanwendy yeah it will be lovely and special for you all
@misshannah awww poor you i havnt been too bad so far but just waiting on it hitting
@Heregoeseverything awwww brilliant!!!

Flatwhite32 · 22/12/2017 08:06

Thank you @LMX0. 12 week scan is booked for 9th Jan. Feeling less sick this morning, so of course I'm now worrying! Wish I could chill out a bit more...

LMX0 · 22/12/2017 09:32

@Flatwhite32 at least you have Christmas to distract you a little for a few days, sickness comes and goes ive really found everyday soo different which i think isnt always bad as i couldnt be dealing with being ill all the time lol

Sammyclaire22 · 22/12/2017 11:07

Hi everyone can I join? I think I was on this thread a month or so ago due 10th july but lost my baby at 6 weeks due to ruptured ectopic. By some miracle I'm pregnant again so my due date is now 29th August.

Daphne33 · 22/12/2017 12:19

@Heregoeseverything Congratulations on your all's-good scan and getting to know about your baby just that bit more! It must be very exciting!

@FlatWhite32 sending all the positive vibes and don't worry too much. I know it must be tougher not to worry, pregnancy seems to send all our hormones into a frenzy and for me, it becomes anxiety too. I tell myself think positive, smile and be happy, and I'm sure the baby will feel that confidence and happiness too. All the best to you!

@sammyclaire22 Welcome again! Sorry to hear of your loss but awww, bless! What a wonderful miracle!

LMX0 · 22/12/2017 12:28

@Sammyclaire22 awww sammy sorry to hear your awful news but a massive congrats!!! How are you?

Didntcomeheretofuckspiders · 22/12/2017 13:34

Hi all, I guess I can join you too! Although I’m still completely in shock. I hadn’t had a period since October and was undergoing tests to find out what was going on because I’d had negative pregnancy tests so no idea how far along I am at the moment! I’m guessing probably not much more than 6 weeks but I suppose it could be closer to 10!

LMX0 · 22/12/2017 14:49

@Didntcomeheretofuckspiders welcome & congrats!!

ladybirdno1 · 22/12/2017 19:16

Hello, I've just taken a pregnancy clear blue test and found out I'm pregnant- so happy Smile it said 3-4 weeks. I read on the information sheet this would indicate being 4-5 weeks pregnant. I don't really understand it all. Can anyone tell me when my due date/month would roughly be? Thank you 😘

Flatwhite32 · 22/12/2017 19:19

Congratulations @ladybirdno1! Clear blue goes from conception, whereas 4-5 weeks means the number of weeks from your last period, which is what midwives, doctors etc go by. If you Google due date calculator, you'll be able to find plenty of websites which will give you an estimated due date. The NHS has one.

ladybirdno1 · 22/12/2017 19:28

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I gave up tracking my period dates as they were so irregular and I was getting worked up TTC, so have completely confused myself

ladybirdno1 · 22/12/2017 19:28

Thank you for the congrats also, it's such a great feeling, I'm so happy x

LMX0 · 22/12/2017 19:46

@ladybirdno1 congrats!!! Because you're irregular it will be harder to determine your due date my advise would be see your gp they will be able to help guess your dd i would guess mid aug

ladybirdno1 · 22/12/2017 20:57

Thanks @LMXO

Pinkpanther10 · 23/12/2017 09:38

Hi! First time on mumsnet :) hoping for some advice!
I'm pregnant with our first, due 31st July by my calculations. Just had my NT dating scan date through, though, and it's for Feb 16. Isn't that REALLY late? I think I'll be 17+3 by then... Google tells me the NT scan won't be effective by then.
There's nobody answering the phones at the hospital at the moment, obviously, but I think I'm going to ring them after Christmas and find out what's going on. Not sure they'll move an inch but it seems strange to me (plus I'll go mad not telling people till then)

BuffalotheGruffalo · 23/12/2017 09:55

@pinkpanther10 that does seem late. How many weeks are you at the moment? I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and 12 week scan is 15 Jan. Mid Feb does seem late if you are due end of August.

Pinkpanther10 · 23/12/2017 10:08

@Buffalothegruffalo due end July, not end Aug! I'm 8 weeks now, so I was expecting my scan to be around the same time as yours :(

Ha1234 · 23/12/2017 10:33

Hi ladies, I have my first midwife appointment next week (8 wks) this is my first pregnancy I was planning on going on my own, but did any of you take your other half? X

BuffalotheGruffalo · 23/12/2017 10:40

@pinkpanther10 sorry - don't know why I put Aug! Yes your 12 week scan should be closer to mine, might perhaps an admin error? I'd query it with the hospital when they are open next.

@Ha1234 I had mine a couple of weeks ago and didn't take DH. It wouldve have been much use him being there. There were a couple of questions about any conditions known within his family but nothing I couldn't answer. I think he'd have been miffed if he'd had to come with me as he would've needed to sit out for some of it as they ask you whethere you're supported at home and about DV etc so he couldn't be present for that.

BuffalotheGruffalo · 23/12/2017 10:43

Clearly my fingers are getting fatter at the same rate as my boobs. That first would've should have been 'wouldn't' and I promise I do know how to spell whether :D
