I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.
MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk
If you need help in obtaining medication, phone them on:
024 7638 2020
Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy
I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.
Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

oh no seize, I hope the weaning off the tablets goes well at least. Sorry to hear about the false alarm deaddoor, Mustang is right though, it might help that your sister's gone home, it really is important to feel cosy and relaxed. We have family over to help look after DD when labour starts and it definitely means I'm less at ease than I would be otherwise.

Glad the ranitidine is helping Mustang. Today I had a marginally better 3am wake up for the first acid vomit of the day. A few odd contractions this morning, but they've stopped now. Thank god as my little girl is really under the weather and I really wouldn't want to leave her right now (the hospital stay here is 3 days minimum and she wouldn't be able to visit the ward if she's poorly Sad) so we need to hold on a couple more days!

Hope everyone else is ok, and that you're starting to feel better Blue, it really just sucks that you're still poorly.

pippanippa · 24/11/2017 11:34

oh, and lucinda it was me with the unfortunate chocolate muffin choking incident Blush.

Natsku · 24/11/2017 11:57

Phone call is done now, baby brain made me forget how old I was for a moment!
Typically now that I can go nap I no longer feel sleepy, sod's law!

DeadDoorpost · 24/11/2017 14:15

It's funny coz my friend who's on call to take us up the birth centre when I need to felt like she needs to be ready today as well. Just seen her as we were doing some decorating and she was asking me how I feel, and asked if I'd had my show yet. I'd had it just as she was messaging me so that was odd. So maybe it will be today 😂 but it's really bizarre.
Going to have a shower and see if I can relax. Even DH messaged me to see how I was and he doesn't usually do so because of work.
pippa sorry to hear your DD isn't feeling too good. Obviously if you go now it sucks that she won't be able to visit but if you have to wait that still sucks!
mustang I've totally forgotten my reply to you! Aaargh.

DeadDoorpost · 24/11/2017 14:18

Oh yeah, mustang next sweep will probably be Monday with my midwife but I don't really know how effective it'll be... if it takes as long as this one has to have an effect I'll be being induced by then anyway.
seize just reread your message as well. Hopefully the scan won't be bad but if it Is, it's better it gets checked out now than it being missed! Fingers crossed for you everything is ok

pippanippa · 24/11/2017 14:43

Oh sorry seize I missed that bit of your message, I hope all is well too. Deaddoor really hope today is the day. I had my show last week Angry... I hope yours is more meaningful!

Natsku · 24/11/2017 18:08

Any progress Dead?

Have a look out for "my" article in computerweekly next week Grin

DeadDoorpost · 24/11/2017 18:48

More plug but nothing so far. uuugh

Natsku · 24/11/2017 18:56

Damn. Maybe it'll happen in the middle of the night.

LucindaE · 24/11/2017 19:10

Seize I hope they reassured you about whatever it is with the scan.
Hopefully they have suggested an effective combination as an alternative to Ondansetron?
Pippasnippa Much sympathy over LO unwell and that awful incident. Puking and peeing is so depressing, and as for choking too...
DeadDoorPost Exciting about show!
Natsku Congratulations on dictating that article. Ah, a cat that sleeps on your head! My lovely one always did when I was ill. It's nice in cold weather, and it must be very cold over there now. It's cold enough here in Wales!
Mustang Hugs. Smile
Apologies to anyone rudely overlooked/or with whom I have cross posted...

OP posts:
Natsku · 24/11/2017 19:39

It's cold outside but my house is always too bloody hot, don't need the cat as well!

Mustang27 · 24/11/2017 19:54

I literally have everything crossed for you Dead!

Hope your wee girl is feeling a bit better Pippa. 3 days is a long time I'd definitely have pushed for my home birth if that was how our hospitals operated.

Me to Sieze sorry I hope it's all nothing.

Remind us closer to the time and I will definitely check in Nat I'm intrigued. We have a few writers on here I think.

Shehz21 · 24/11/2017 19:57

Rant alert here.
Awful pelvis pain and GP gave a list of hospitals to check for the earliest appointment and it turns out to be the earliest one is after 90 days.. I might give birth by then! Can't even turn in bed without the pain, climbing the stairs is a nightmare, even walking as a matter of fact!
Really riled up at the ever non supportive GP and wondering what I can do to help myself at this point.

Rant over,sorry about that Sad

seize Hope you are getting the reassurance you need regarding ths scan! Also goodluck with weaning off the medsFlowers

Door The wait though..! Baby Door must be all cozy in there, not keen to come out to face this cold winter lol.
Hope you are doing okay without the medecines while waiting for Baby Door to make an appearance!

Pippa Argh hope you and DD get better soon so you both are on top of things when Baby Pip gets here. Wouldn't be good to go in labour with a cold as well, you would need your full energy then and DD can be properly excited about her DB/DS!

Natsku Hope everything is good with you!

Waves to justtheonethen Disco Lucinda Mustang and everyone else Smile

seizethecuttlefish · 24/11/2017 20:15

Mustang the consultant said they are not comfortable prescribing it longer than a few weeks. I asked about risks that have been identified and she sited increased risk of heart defects and cleft palate. Though she couldn't tell me the study details. She also said that it's tried and tested for short term with cancer patients but that's it.*
Lucinda* I can keep cyclizine (for all it does) but she seemed to think most sickness goes after the first trimester. I explained this didn't happen with my son and though I am much better, I'm still nauseous and sick occasionally on meds. The buccastem was useless so no point going back to that. Don't think they really have a clue. I'd just got used to eating, so hoping that it's passed (by some miracle) and I'll be fine.
It snowed here this morning and ds was hyper. Natsku I just thought of you. Sadly, snow didn't lie but if ds lived where you are, he'd never been in. It's bad enough that's it's 3 degrees and he's in a tshirt!

seizethecuttlefish · 24/11/2017 20:16

Whoops, went all bold there!

justtheonethen · 24/11/2017 20:17

shehz how annoying. Can you tell your midwife? That's not on really. You need help now! Sorry you're in pain.

My old cat slept round my head, I loved it.

Sorry to all I've missed/ignored, having a bit of a bad day.

justtheonethen · 24/11/2017 20:18

seize I don't think your doctor knows their research. Studies have found that there is no increased risk.

Shehz21 · 24/11/2017 20:22

justtheonethen Seems like a twin pregnancy for real (a bad day here too!) Shock
I really can't wait enough for Christmas to be over, New Year to be over and just roll on March..!
I really will not be doing this ever again. Pregnancy does not agree with me and I just got to accept that. Feel bad that I might sound selfish of 'depriving' DC of a sibling but I really can't do this again.. Sad

justtheonethen · 24/11/2017 20:25

shehz same, I always wanted three or more but it took so long to get pregnant and now this. I can't do it again. That makes me sad Sad

justtheonethen · 24/11/2017 20:26

And yes, counting down now. I too think if I can just get Christmas over then I only have Jan and Feb to do.

DeadDoorpost · 25/11/2017 04:52

Ok so I was going to not post at all for a while because i was in a horrible mood last night after a lot of things that happened but I've just woken up with a horrible pain in my right side that's only just gone after a lot of deep breathing and a hot water bottle on it.
I'm going to need you experienced ladies to describe contraction pains to me please in case this doesn't come back because I'll be damned if I phone my DM and I'd rather not phone my Step mum if I can help it.
If it helps the pain made me feel pretty sick. Still no waters going though

And if this is another false alarm I'm going to explode

Oklahoma · 25/11/2017 04:58

Dead they feel different for d Euronext is the problem so very hard to describe. The waiting is just awful though you really do have my sympathy.

Blue I’m also still feeling rough but I did last time too (I’m one of Lucinda’s exclusive club). Mine completely went when I stopped breastfeeding though.

Waves to all, hang on in there

Oklahoma · 25/11/2017 05:00

She you don’t need to worry about whether or not you’re having another one right now. Everyone on this thread swears they are never doing it again and some do and some don’t. But please try not to waste precious energy on that yet. Concentrate on the one currently in your tummy.

Natsku · 25/11/2017 07:47

Not sure about that pain Dead I really can't remember what contractions even felt like but if it was just the one side then maybe it's more that baby is squashing on something and causing pain (ureter maybe, causing pain in the kidney area).

pippanippa · 25/11/2017 07:51

Shehz that wait is appalling, so frustrating. Never feel selfish for not wanting to do this again though, it's perfectly understandable!

Oklahoma sorry you're still feeling rough too, I hope that everything is going well with your little one though!

Dead, Oklahoma is right they do feel different for everyone. With my last labour all contractions were in my back, I never felt anything at the front at all. I think it's unusual to be just in one side though so it might be worth giving maternity a call just to check in case it's something else.
