I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.
MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk
If you need help in obtaining medication, phone them on:
024 7638 2020
Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy
I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.
Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

shehz I had awful pelvis and hip pain and my doctor was no hope but what helped me was complete rest - no walking, very little standing, just lots of lying propped up or sitting in a comfy position. After a couple of weeks of that I've been able to do a bit more but rest as soon as the pain comes back.

seize at the first hint of sunshine in spring DD goes out in t-shirt and skirt even though there's still snow on the ground!

winkywinkybumbum · 25/11/2017 08:19

Hugs to everyone.

I swore I'd never do this again after terminating the last pregnancy. I'm feeling an idiot right now. Why I thought I'd be able to do this again I don't know.

NonStopDisco · 25/11/2017 09:56

Good Morning
NonStopBaby (BabyDisco?) arrived this morning, 8lb, no further nausea to report.

Shehz21 · 25/11/2017 09:58

Wohoo!!! Disco Congratulations!
Enjoy your wee one and all the foods!
So happy for youFlowers

justtheonethen · 25/11/2017 10:03

Disco!! Hurrah you have your baby. Enjoy all the cuddles and food Star

Ameliablue · 25/11/2017 10:09

Congratulations disco

Mustang27 · 25/11/2017 11:23

Oh wow Disco I'm so happy and a nice weight too. Baby Disco 😍😍. Hope labour was ok and glad nausea has done one.

Sorry Oklahoma that you are still sick feeling as well. Have you stopped taking the anti sickness? I was taking ondansetron and cyclizine when I was feeding mustang.

Oh Dead what side is it? My right side is really bad for ligament pain. Although I'm hoping it's labour pains.

DeadDoorpost · 25/11/2017 11:45

Disco woohoo! I may be seething inside that I'm not there yet aha but I'm so happy this horrible journey is over for you!!! Enjoy it!! And congratulations 🎉🎉
mustang it was from back of my ribs all the way around and down to below belly. I think I might give midwife a call as someone mentioned. I've not bothered getting out of bed yet even though I'm hungry. I'm too emotionally fed up.

DeadDoorpost · 25/11/2017 11:46

And it's the right side mustang. Ibe not had ligament problems so o doubt it's that. Still waiting here for 5hinhs to move along though.

pippanippa · 25/11/2017 11:47

Congratulations Disco! Hope everything went well, and so glad you are feeling better. Hope recovery from the labour (and pregnancy!) goes well over the coming weeks.

Winky how are things going? It sounds like you're having a rubbish time of it at the moment.

winkywinkybumbum · 25/11/2017 12:09

Congratulations Disco!

Feeling pretty rotten. Got that horrid heartburn lump in throat. Kinda going off all food and drink now. I am eating but it's a struggle. Ice poles are a saviour so I hope I'm not getting dehydrated.

Natsku · 25/11/2017 12:30

Woo congrats disco!

LucindaE · 25/11/2017 13:11

NonStopDisco Wonderful - and a a big one, too. Grin FlowersBrew. Welcome to the Pink Castle at the end of the Hyperemesis Horror Game (like a nasty form of Snakes and Ladders: drink a glass of water, climb a ladder, Morning Bile Run, down a snake).
So glad no nausea for you now - and honestly, everyone, that is the norm on here save for about six sufferers out of hundreds. Star Enjoy your baby.
winky Poor you. Don't believe you can't do this. The first bit is terrible, but things do get better. Remind me what meds you are on. Remember, also, that there is support available, practical advice and emotional, too. For instance, Pregnancy Sickness Support on 024 7638 2020 (they phone you back) can match you with a personal volunteer.

Oklahoma Lovely to hear from you. I hope you are enjoying residence in the fabled Pink Castle. Of course, I should have remembered that you were one of the unlucky tiny few who suffer afterwards - I have never known two at the same time to have given birth within a few days of each other. I think BlueButTrue will find it comforting that you can understand what she is going through.
Shez21 Is that spd, poor you? How awful, a 90 day waiting list. I find that shocking. I know the NHS is overstretched, but surely they could work to get round it with another LHA or something?
justtheone and others - wise advice from lovely Oklahoma. 'Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof'... and all that. It is amazing the number of women who do have a second - even a third. I did regret not going for it a second time myself. I love a cat on my head when dozing. OH always threw it out.

Seize I am not medical, but like justtheone I would question those results they quote, as various Hyperemesis websites quote large studies have indicated that there is no conclusive evidence of birth deects and prolonged use of Ondansetron. I think there are a lot on the Pregnancy Sickness SOS link I quoted on the initial post. Can they not combine Cyclizine with something else, if Stemitil was no good? Don't hesitate to make a fuss if you get really ill again.
DeadDoorPost I hope this is it, if a bit one sided. You have been very patient.
Apologies to anyone rudely ignored. Waves to all.

winky My usual - have you got kesostix - available from any chemists? Some drinking and (sort of) food suggestions. Ice lollies, flat full sugar coke, the juice of tinned fruit, Elderflower Water, Lucoazade, orange squash, fizzy orange, soda water, cocoanut milk, ice cubes, Dr Pepper, sips of chocolate milkshake(maybe soya). Tinned fruit (esp. peaches), jelly, cheap ice cream, nibbles of crisps and chips, slices of melon and mango and cuppa soup.
Natskuand others waves madly.

winkywinkybumbum · 25/11/2017 13:55

Thank you Lucinda. I must buy some ketostix.

justtheonethen · 25/11/2017 14:14

Hang in there winky the start is bloody awful. Sending hugs. Try and sleep it away as much as possible.

justtheonethen · 25/11/2017 14:15

Oklahoma and Lucinda you're so right. I'm just going to worry about this one.

Crazy dreams here. Had one that my waters broke and no one would believe me. Then a midwife tasted them and it was gravy HmmGrin.

Shehz21 · 25/11/2017 19:55

Pippa Thank you for the kind words. Hope you and DD are doing better now.

Natsku Took your advice and been mostly in bed today save for morning routine of brushing teeth and breakfast and couple of loo trips. Will definitely keep it that way until I feel better.

winky gonna chime in and say sleep the days away. This was the best way for me to deal with it.
Still do that on days when I feel rough.

Oklahama So sorry you are feeling rough and hope it goes away before you stop bf this time!
Thank you for the brilliant advice though. Definitely not gonna think of subsequent pregnancy for now and try to "enjoy",to whichever extent possible, this pregnancy.

justtheonethen LOL at your dream! Been having a lot of gravy lately eh? Grin
I had the weirdest dream that I was carrying a teddy bear this whole time...

justtheonethen · 25/11/2017 20:05

Grin no gravy at all. Maybe it's my body's way of telling me to have some!

shehz hope your pain clears up soon Sad. Definitely keep resting.

I'm nervous about tomorrow. Driving to Manchester for uncle's funeral. The car always sets me off, let alone for 4 hours. Any tips?

LucindaE · 25/11/2017 20:09

Grin to teddy bears and gravy...

OP posts:
Shehz21 · 25/11/2017 20:40

justtheonethen Sorry no advice here as I cannot even dream of a car travel of even an hour at this point but wishing you all the luck for it Sad
I wish I could vehemently advise you not to go but since it's a funeral..
Hope you are not driving yourself!

justtheonethen · 25/11/2017 20:42

DH is driving and if there was any way I could not go I would! Dreading it.
Missed your teddy bear dream shehz! Grin
I tried the car seat and Caboo out with a bear today!

justtheonethen · 25/11/2017 20:44

How are you Lucinda?

DeadDoorpost · 25/11/2017 23:11

just the only way I coped in the car was by sleeping the whole way if I could or having my eyes closed at least. But if I needed to throw up I'd just get on with it and take water too.

Gennz18 · 25/11/2017 23:44

Congratulations Disco I'm so jealous.

I'm 9+4 today and feeling hideous. Take a 4mg ondansetron at 6am but feeling sick again by midday. I see to remember week 9 was the peak of feeling awful last time so hopefully things will improve soon.

Have had a big week of international travel, late night flights and dinners out, and more of the same next week - just want to crawl into a hole and cry!! Thank God for the meds or I would not be able to battle through let alone pretend I'm not knocked up.

Can't imagine how awful it is for some of you suffering worse than I am.
