I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.
MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk
If you need help in obtaining medication, phone them on:
024 7638 2020
Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy
I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.
Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Thank you for all the advice. Heading to doctor shortly. We've got some information with us and I'm bringing a urine sample (it's ridiculously dark - sorry tmi) so hopefully they listen. I've lost 4.4kg since last week. They need to do something about this. Managed to keep some fromage frais down and a few ice lollies but still seriously dehydrated.

Pollifilla · 24/10/2017 07:39

"And on the 7th day, she did poo. And it was good!"

Everything crossed that they have you feeling better in no time Snipples. It's an utterly miserable situation but the drip gives at least some relief. Push for it - you need it.

polli Grin

snipples good luck!

shez Grin "smacking him with a leek"

dead hurrah for more babies. And for BH!

natures welcome back! Boo to the nausea with braxton hicks. Do they hurt?

seize how did the scan go?

LucindaE · 24/10/2017 08:54

Snipples Never worry about tmi on here. Dark urine is very restrained for talk on here! Unfortunately, I think you will be admitted. Let us know how things are going.
OnNature'sCourse Oh dear. Sorry about relapse. Unfortunately, some people do notice that towards the end. Not nice, if nothing like as bad as earlier on.

Dead Just noticed your bit about braxton hicks in your post. I thought BH would be more painful contractions like instead of tightening and relaxing of the bump?
I guess each person experiences it differently.
I genuinely wish I have something more along the lines of your experience than be cramping and dealing with nausea.

Oklahoma · 24/10/2017 09:30

Polli that made me laugh. It’s depressing how exciting pooing is though.

She that’s hilarious. Lard. Shudder.

Dead I had BH for weeks and weeks before Oklette cake so fingers crossed for an early appearance but don’t pin your hopes on it!

They tend to get stronger and more intense as you get close to labour. I never found them painful as such but they would make me stop mid sentence and take me full attention.

I have a grotty cold and have been throwing up buckets of mucus and snot. Grim. But I am 36 weeks today. Come on! I can do this!!

Snipple that isn’t even on the TMI scale on this thread don’t worry! Good luck at Dr and let us know how it goes please.

Mustang27 · 24/10/2017 10:58

Dead I get braxton hicks from around 24 weeks I really hope they are a sign of labour for you. They just taunt me.

Hey ons glad to see you not glad your nausea has returned.

Iv had a really tough few days nausea wise 32 weeks, meh Hmm.

Good luck snippels glad your hubby will be there.

Shez onion gravy and slapped with a leek GrinGrin oh and my braxton hicks felt like mini contractions and would often make me yelp a little lol.

Wooh for poo Polli.

Oh Oklahoma you have my full sympathy me and mini have just recovered from the worst cold it’s so horrible. Just zapped the last of my energy.

Mustang27 · 24/10/2017 11:03

It was British farm assured chicken but what that means @LucindaE is probably very little I’m afraid to google.

seizethecuttlefish · 24/10/2017 11:35

Good news first, I'd like to join the polli poo Mexican wave. Thank any higher power you like but that was epic!
I had BH with my first. Was weird and I remember describing it to someone else that had BH and theirs was completely different to mine. I swear, my body is a mystery.
Anyhoo, scan. After 25 mins of trying to park. Me running in and abandoning hubby. Baby Satan (an appropriate name, I feel), is measuring 11 weeks. So they couldn't really do a scan!!!! This means I ovulated a week later than any normal human and this baby stuck. I swear, it's Damien. (Very old film reference, apologies for showing my advanced years). I have to go back on the 2nd. I am more gutted that means I started feeling nauseous at 4 weeks and I still have ages to go!!!! In my head I was counting out of the first trimester in hope. Now I could cry. I did last night.

OnNaturesCourse · 24/10/2017 11:35

😂😂 @ the 7th day poo Polli.

My BH range from "oh that's a tight" to "oh holy hell this might be it" and there doesn't seem to be any reason for the difference. I occasionally feel them in my back too but suspect that's because baby is facing the wrong way, looking up. I'm hoping between the ever increasing BH and leaky boobs I'm going to go relatively on time and not go overdue, but.. I'm also worried I'll go too early. I'm only 35+5 😒

Although saying that, I'm pretty much on house arrest now thanks to SPD, nausea and an Achilles heel injury so prehaps as gravity isn't getting much look in I'll be OK!

justtheonethen · 24/10/2017 11:44

seize balls to an extra week! Hurrah for happy baby and another chance to see them next week. Your body is a marvel!

nature oh you poor thing, spd as well?

mustang sorry you have had a couple of bad days, so unfair at 32 weeks!

oklahoma we have awful colds here too, it's no fun when pregnant is it? Not that it is normally but at least DH can take decongestants. And my nose being blocked makes me feel more sick. Meh.

I've decided I'm going to meet my sister tomorrow and do some baby shopping, I need to do something that will cheer me up even if I know I'll suffer for it the next day.

DeadDoorpost · 24/10/2017 11:47

Shehz I dunno, possibly these are the start of them? Either way, when they happen it's hard to walk...
Oklahoma I've got 4 weeks yet until BabyDoor is due... fingers crossed...
Mustang I've had the occasional period pains and cramps as well but this is the first time I've realised that the muscles are tightening and releasing by themselves. I'm kinda hoping that it's going to be a sign BabyDoor moves into a more comfortable position coz he's still in my hip sighs

OnNaturesCourse · 24/10/2017 11:55

Yeah, SPD with crutches... But on good days I got away with not using them. Sadly now with the ankle pain I've been told to use them even for hobbling around the house.

I feel like a utter useless fool.

Snipples · 24/10/2017 12:07

Hi all. I've been admitted. The docs were actually really helpful. She said I have HG - I didn't even need to show her all the info. I've been put on fluids for the night and anti sickness drugs. Not sure what they're called. They're also going to give me progesterone suppositories so I can keep it down or up rather.

We had two early losses earlier this year so that's why they put me on progesterone. But unfortunately I can't keep the tablets down. She tested my ketones and I'm 3+ so they're going to monitor that twice a day. Just going to try and get some sleep. Hope these fluids do the trick.

We got to have a scan this morning and heard the babies heartbeat so that was good. At least the baby is doing ok in there! Hope you're all well.

justtheonethen · 24/10/2017 12:16

snipples I'm so glad they were supportive. I had progesterone pessaries, grim! I suggest you get some panty liners Wink
Hope you feel better soon now you're on the drip.

justtheonethen · 24/10/2017 12:26

Also, sorry for your losses snip, my message reads a bit insensitively, sorry Flowers

Snipples · 24/10/2017 12:42

Ha thanks for the warning! Ah no worries. It didn't read insensitively at all.

seizethecuttlefish · 24/10/2017 13:36

Snip great hearing the heartbeat and you're definitely in the right place being looked after. I have had the lovely progesterone suppositories, early in this pregnancy. It was an experience Blush Hope you get some good meds for the HG.

Pollifilla · 24/10/2017 16:18

Thank god they took you seriously Snipples - really pleased that you are receiving treatment.

Seize - now I can't stop! It's like the gates of hell back there! Might have overdone it on the prunes...

Natsku · 24/10/2017 16:31

So glad they took you seriously Snipples

Wonder why they couldn't do the scan Seize I had my "12 week" scan at 11 weeks, was no problem.

jmd1991 · 24/10/2017 16:35

Hello ladies. This is my first post on this site and I am so glad to read that I am not the only HG sufferer. I am 24 + 3 and have been suffering with Hyperemisis pretty much from the start (the only reason I found out I was pregnant was due to not being able to keep any solids down). Any way I have not been able to attend work since around 13weeks and I really feel useless. I struggle with day to day tasks and have probably about 20% energy most days. I have been in hospital 3 times with it.
I feel like everyone is sick of me moaning, and that includes me. Haha.
My sister in particular is making things even more difficult for me as she has for some reason got in her head that I have been making myself sick I.e sticking my fingers down my throat. Which has caused arguments between us as she refuses to support me! I have just told her to stay away from me and to leave me alone because I don’t need the added stress. I suppose a bit of advice would be helpful. Does anyone think I am going OTT or as fellow HG sufferers would you have done the same. Xx
