I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.
MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk
If you need help in obtaining medication, phone them on:
024 7638 2020
Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy
I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.
Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Bag done. Thanks for the prod ladies, it definitely needed doing. Seeing the midwife this afternoon.

I am still full of cold and still coughing and puking. Come on Oklar I can’t take this anymore...

Oklahoma · 08/11/2017 11:45

We don’t have snacks though. That is a good point Door.

pippanippa · 08/11/2017 12:16

Snacks taken care of here too (feeling smugly organised now!). To be honest my snack selection is pretty pathetic as they have to be GD friendly - so I have sugar free jelly (though this appears to have turned into an unappetising liquid in the pot...), protein bars and pepsi max to see me through. To be honest I was too busy vomiting to eat a thing last time anyway. I have also packed a ridiculously large packet of sugar laden biscuits to demolish afterwards when I can enjoy sugar freely again Grin. Also prepared a list of 'must haves' for the cupboard for my return when hopefully sickness and GD free. I think it'll feel like an early christmas.

Sorry to hear the cold is still there Oklahoma the combination of pregnancy / cold / HG is just unbearable, I hope it starts to shift soon!

BlueButTrue · 08/11/2017 12:25

You ladies have reminded me to pack snacks! That’s something I certainly forgot.

Are they just for me or DH too? Grin

Natsku · 08/11/2017 13:32

I packed a whole picnic last time and didn't eat any of it as I didn't feel hungry as the all. Will still pack snacks this time but aim for them to be eaten more likely after the birth so nothing that needs to be kept cold.

Having a horrid sick day today, just nauseous all the time but no vomiting so no brief relief. Doctor appointment tomorrow so I'm going to beg on bended knee if necessary for more meds! Also work tomorrow so hope I'm not feeling sick like this tomorrow. Only two more shifts to go though I think as I have to skip work next Thursday as DD has her psych appointment and I should be in England on the last Thursday of the month so there's just one more in between.

DeadDoorpost · 08/11/2017 13:41

pippa DH is ordering dominoes pizza for me once I've given birth it's the first thing i want to have 😂
blue get something for DH as well because if you end up in labour instead of the section then it could be a while you'll be in there. But if there's a cafe he can always go to that after the section.
oklahoma sorry to hear about the cold. I know how you feel but in glad I don't have one right now. I've had 3 already so far during the pregnancy. Don't really fancy another one. And have my flu jab on Sunday as well.
natsku just thinking those prawn cocktail crisps though in England... you'll have to take some back with you!

Natsku · 08/11/2017 16:27

Going to stuff my suitcase with them Dead!

Mustang27 · 08/11/2017 16:43

Oh Ons good luck. Just keep moving and you will be fine lol. So excited!

Well done on all the bag packing ladies so proud of you all lol.

Lucinda how is hubby recuperating btw. Sorry if I missed an update.

NerNerNerNerBATMAN · 08/11/2017 17:04

Hi everyone, many thanks for your replies re weaning off the meds. Am back on them and it's been an ok day. very nauseous but not as bad as previous two days. If I have another good day I'll make sure to keep taking the meds!!!

DeadDoorpost · 08/11/2017 17:18

Good to hear batman! Nothing worse than stopping them coz you feel fine then paying for it later.
I still haven't had the sleep I wanted but I'm obviously in a good mood because I was just stood in the shower and I thought to myself, that with my glasses off I actually have some sexy legs 😂😂 but that might be because I can't see them clearly and I can't see my thighs properly because of my bump.
Still having twinges but nothing major and never consistently. I doubt I'll even be able to notice any period pains when they start because I don't remember what they feel like 🤣 the whole of today has been spent in bed playing Mahjong. It's been good.

BlueButTrue · 08/11/2017 18:35

Anyone here experience a day of frequent (very frequent), bowel movement before going into labour?

I’ve been needing and going like crazy today and I usually go once at most Blush Sorry for TMI, just very unusual for me

Mustang27 · 08/11/2017 18:36

Blue it definitely a sign. I don’t want to get your hopes up though.

Mustang27 · 08/11/2017 18:39

Haha Dead I love that!! You are quite tall as well aren’t you? So I bet your legs are lovely. I gain weight every where during pregnancy and just become wobbly and puffy ( sorry bunny I know you worried about this) so nothing looks good. Oh doesn’t think so though.

Shehz21 · 08/11/2017 18:54

Its great reading through all the posts of you ladies packing bags and mentioning snacks. Atleast that's 1 thing I know of to pack. Still clueless at 21 weeks but surely Dr.Google and you all are there to help once time comes.

Batman Keep taking your meds regularly! Hope you feel better again soon.

LucindaE · 08/11/2017 19:18

Mustang Kind of you to ask, when you are feeling bad yourself. OH's cast comes off on Friday. Hopefully the contraction of the fingers will have been resolved by the operation. I hope you are jogging along yourself...
I wonder how OnNature'sCourse is doing?
I hope everyone else is coping...

Oklahoma · 08/11/2017 19:27

Blue yes that’s a recognised thing.

BlueButTrue · 08/11/2017 19:39

Ohhh, I best get packing Wink

DeadDoorpost · 08/11/2017 20:09

mustang Yeah, like 5'8/9 depending on the day I get measured lol. DH doesn't think like I do (usually negative self image) but yeah. Still a size 16/18 though but hopefully less than that a few months after the birth.
blue best make sure your bag is ready to grab and go then! Saying that, I'm not getting my hopes up but I went really easily today for the first time in absolute months. Doubt I'm that close though. Still no show, and I don't think baby has dropped either. Not that I can tell anymore anyway. He's being a real wriggle bum though.
lucinda glad to hear he's doing well.
shehz Dr Google may be useless for a lot of things but Pinterest is way more interesting for hospital bag ideas. And usually way iver the top because they're American. DH and I read through and just laughed at how much they were taking with them. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to need that much. I'm 5 min drive away anyway so not difficult to pick up anything I've forgotten

winkywinkybumbum · 08/11/2017 20:20

Hi All.

Just jumping in here. The group that was 2 years ago helped me with hypermesis but unfortunately I couldn't cope as it wasn't under control. I also had ante natal depression so made the tough decision to terminate.

I have just yesterday found out that I'm pregnant and I am very happy although terrified of history repeating itself. I've been to the doctor today to make sure my current antidepressants are suitable and I have let them know that I want to medicate at the first sign of it all.

I already have horrendous heartburn so goodness knows where this will lead to!

I hope to join in here as much as I can but just wanted to say Hi!

DeadDoorpost · 08/11/2017 20:21

Im sat cackling at your name winky 😂😂😂 welcome to the group and comisserations if it gets to Hyperemesis BUT at least there's women here going through the same.

winkywinkybumbum · 08/11/2017 20:31

Hey Dead! Have you heard the winky winky bum bum song? Highly recommend for juvenile giggles. Just YouTube it Grin

That's what I loved about the group, people understood EXACTLY how I felt.

Mustang27 · 08/11/2017 21:02

Winky you win mumsnet with that one!! Don’t be to hard on yourself we all regularly feel like that would be the easiest way and most of us get to the end thinking wtaf happened and how did we remotely cope. Massive hugs and I’m so sorry you had to make that decision but your health needs to come first. Moan all you like and as iv said before I’m near Glasgow so if I can physically help in any way even if it’s to drop some tolerable snacks and liquids off il happily do it. I’m on my second and absolute last.

Aww Dead you shouldn’t be the photos you have shared have been gorgeous and you look well for your height and weight so I wouldn’t worry about it. Don’t get too hung up on bouncing back to quickly either it takes 9 months to get to this point it’s going to take at least that to get back to normal I found it longer and that was even breastfeeding so try not to stress. Just keep admiring those pins!!!

You will be fine Shehz I’m sure we can all share our lists of it helps you get organised in advance?

winkywinkybumbum · 08/11/2017 21:27

I'm a bit far from you but just knowing someone out there has got my back means a lot. Thank you.

Oh I'll tell you all now. Due to hypermobile joints, I struggle typing lots on here so please don't think I'm being rude if I'm a taker rather than a giver Flowers

DeadDoorpost · 08/11/2017 21:29

mustang a friend of mine reckons because I could/can still breathe in as much as I can I'll bounce back really quickly but I doubt it. It'll be interesting to see what happens though. I am going back on slimming world after the new year (very loosely though) to try and shift some if the weight. It actually causes problems with my back so it's a miracle I've not had back back problems during the pregnancy.
winky I haven't seen it no. Something to search for tomorrow I feel.

DeadDoorpost · 08/11/2017 22:56

Have you ladies got names sorted or are you still deciding? I'm getting really bored now of just waiting around for him to arrive. And we've kept the name secret which is more than I did when I found out I was pregnant. Im quite proud of myself.
If you've got a name sorted, is there a particular reason for it or just because you like it so much?
