I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.
MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk
If you need help in obtaining medication, phone them on:
024 7638 2020
Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy
I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.
Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

I've not been able to sleep. Every time I've gone to do so someone has phoned me. Or messaged me. And now I'm feeling sick.
I'm just complaining today I'm sorry.

pippanippa · 07/11/2017 15:39

Hello to catalpa and polifilla, hope you're both doing better today. Oklahoma and Blue I still haven't quite finished my bag....it's halfway there though at least!

Onnatures hope you get some reassurance today, that sounds very stressful, so hope all is well.

Today was another super fun day, starting off with particularly painful vomiting, followed by my customary waddle to the hospital. It ended up being a whole day of check-ups after things got complicated again (don't worry, all fine now!). I have been given the choice of induction on due date though...ooh so tempting not to be pregnant, but not liking the idea of induction either. Think I'll wait it out, am I mad? Am enjoying putting my feet up at home now, why are waiting rooms so uncomfortable and hot?!

Hope everyone else is ok

BlueButTrue · 07/11/2017 16:20

Dead For the first time today, no feckers tried ringing me or messaging whilst I was trying to sleep.

I went down at 12.30 and didn’t awake until 2.45 as a result Blush

LucindaE · 07/11/2017 17:54

Oh dear, OnNature'sCourse and DeadDoorPost insensitively misread you - being too hopeful. Cyber pats on offer over tears.
Cheering everyone on.

Oh dear too much to catch up on!Blush

Hope everyone is doing okay and coping so far.

Welcome to Catalpa Sorry you had to join us but this is by far the most supportive group I've seen on Mumsnet! You will have the best advice and support here.

Cheering for Blue Oklahama DeadDoor Pippa

Pippa I would jump on that opportunity,I am only 21 weeks and already soooo fed up! But of course I do not really know much about the implications of an induction, although I did read somewhere it could be more painful than letting natural labour kick in.

justtheonethen Twinnies for real, I jinxed myself too thus the lack of interaction on here. Some really bad days going on here.

Waves to everyone.

NerNerNerNerBATMAN · 07/11/2017 20:03

Evening ladies. I'm 12+2 and have actually lost count of the number of weeks I've been signed off sick now. The ondansetron and cyclazine has worked wonders and I no longer vomit whilst simultaneously peeing myself, which is good. I still feel like shit tho.

So the past week I've felt LOADS better. I even managed a day barely medicated and felt almost normal. I was so happy and made myself a list of crappy life admin tasks to complete before I go back to work next week.

You can guess what happened...I've regressed 😭😭😭

I now feel the same old shite I've been feeling for weeks. I really want to go back to work as I feel like I'm taking the piss. Work are supportive and I get full sick pay.

When will it end??? I can't spend the whole pregnancy signed off sick!!!

Do you think coming off the meds for a day will have fucked me over? technical term

LucindaE · 07/11/2017 20:22

BATMAN. Sorry to hear that. I expect you tried to wean off meds too early. You need to go gently. See how you are back on your full quota!

OP posts:
LucindaE · 07/11/2017 20:29

BATMAN Can you do a staggered return if you are well enough next week? Don't try to rush back to full hours.

DeadDoorpost · 07/11/2017 21:40

batman a day off of mine set me back so it's possible. It's why I get so anxious when the Dr doesn't send the prescription straight away

OnNaturesCourse · 07/11/2017 21:52

Quick check in.

Been admitted. Getting induced at some point. Xx

DeadDoorpost · 08/11/2017 01:57

I knew you'd go before me! Hopefully everything is ok though, with the reduced movements you mentioned. Fingers crossed for you it goes/went quickly and safely Flowers 🎉🎉

BlueButTrue · 08/11/2017 05:56

OnNaturesCourse Wow! Good luck, hope you’re okay! FlowersFlowersCakeCake

Batman Same thing happened to me But at about 20ish weeks. I tried coming away from basic anti sickness meds (they’re actually meant for motion/travel sickness), and oh my goodness, I was horrendous for two whole weeks despite almost instantly going back on

Shehz21 · 08/11/2017 06:51

OnNaturesCourse Woop Woop! Hope everything is going/went well for you! Can't wait for you to report back with Mini Ons in your arms! Flowers
So happy another one reached the Pink Castle.

Batman I'd suggest try weaning off the meds after 14 weeks. It usually is the week when gradually your hormones stop being all over the place and when you could actually consider getting your life back. Though it's not the same for everyone?! Listen to your body and don't make yourself go through relapses unnecessarily. Rest as much as you can now until your body gives you the green signal.

Natsku · 08/11/2017 07:14

Batman def sounds like you tried weaning off too early which can set you back, just get back on your usual med schedule and you'll hopefully be doing better in a few days.

Dead that is why I put my phone on 'do not disturb' setting when I nap

OnNaturesCourse good luck!!

pippanippa · 08/11/2017 07:35

Just a quick note to say good luck to onnaturescourse, that must've been a shock. I hope the reduced movements are not causing any problems and that everything goes really well with your delivery!

OnNaturesCourse · 08/11/2017 07:53

Morning all.

Everything fine, just with the reduced movement that I could feel plus my bloody show they just decided to kick start me. Was having pain free tightenings anyway.

In for the long ride I've been told as it's my first baby plus a early induction.

Lucky DP has been able to stay as we are in a side room xx

pippanippa · 08/11/2017 08:06

Oh that's great news onnatures, and great that your DP can be with you and you've got a side room to give you a bit of peace and quiet. I hope things go as quick as possible and it's not too drawn out!

DeadDoorpost · 08/11/2017 08:09

Good to hear everything's ok Nature
natsku I could put my phone on airplane mode I suppose... I've got a Samsung so no real Do not Disturb option that I know of and I use Netflix to help me sleep.

Had another horrible night of sleep. I'm going to try and go back to sleep asap but I'm feeling really weepy and frustrated again. I don't know if it's because of the lack of sleep or something else but either way I don't really want to be crying for the whole day.

Ameliablue · 08/11/2017 08:40

Batman, I think it is fairly normal to have periods of improving and then regressing a bit again but ultimately I think it is a sign of improvement, it's just a slow process and you need to try not to do too much as that will make you worse.
If your work are sympathetic, I'd second the suggestion of a phased return to work. I'm lucky that my work are sympathetic so I can take extra breaks etc. if I need to.

Onnaturescourse good luck

Oklahoma · 08/11/2017 09:27

Batman I have been signed off work for the entire pregnancy. It sucks but if you’re sick you’re sick. Don’t try and wean off meds or go back to work too soon.

Nature how exciting that thins are moving for you. Good luck with the induction, I hope it isn’t too long and drawn out for you.

LucindaE · 08/11/2017 10:50

OnNature'sCourse OOH, exciting. Flowers. The best of luck. If things haven't got going by night, don't let them try and palm you off with giving you sleeping pills. I accepted them, and went into labour in a haze: to be avoided.
BlueButTrue and DeadDoorPost Cheering you on!
BATMAN I hope improved...

Warning, all non bag packers...I didn’t pack with my first and ended up in an emergency induction at 36 weeks. My hubby brought the most random stuff lol.
Good luck to all nearing the big event and can’t wait to hear your news.
I’ve been off work since mid-Sept. started with the holiday from hell and I’ve not made it back. Planned return 5th December. Today is not a good day but I have high hopes for tomorrow!
Hugs to all Flowers

pippanippa · 08/11/2017 11:08

Advice heeded seize, I have just finished packing my bag, I am now officially ready!! Having a very queasy day today, ugh, think I will give up and go to bed now. Hope you have a better day today seize and batman!

DeadDoorpost · 08/11/2017 11:16

pippa is that including snacks for it as well? DH and I went and bought some on Monday because we're both certain BabyDoor is going to arrive when we least expect him to just like the both of us did. I had to remind him that he'd need something to snack on too because while I may be the one in Labour, he's also going to be there for as long as I am and that could be several hours 😂 he promptly went and bought babybels and cocktail sausages.
Feeling a bit less weepy now but my sister is going to be phoning me back soon so no chance yet of sleeping again...
