I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.
MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk
If you need help in obtaining medication, phone them on:
024 7638 2020
Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy
I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.
Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Natsku · 01/11/2017 14:52

What a dream dead!

Don't think I have a pregnancy glow either but it does seem that I look about ready to pop - have had several people in the last week ask me when I'm due and then look really surprised and say "oh you still have thaaat long left" when I say end of Jan.

Snipples · 01/11/2017 15:25

I've just vommed in the car. Husband has just had it valeted as his parents arrive tomorrow. Car now stinks of vom. The "bag" I barfed into basically melted and I ended up with vom all over my skirt and legs. Had to take dog to vets smelling of sick (they probably thought I was in for my shots as well). Fuck my life.

lookingforthecorkscrew · 01/11/2017 16:35

Blue - it’s so worth it. I breezed through DS1s newborn stage, everybody kept telling me how well I looked!

LucindaE · 01/11/2017 17:51

Oh dear, lots of suffering. The thread has moved at a rate of knots!
Welcome to pizzafrenchfries. I so agree with others, have the pregnancy confirmed - after all, it might be that nasty virus - and hopefully the doctor will agree to preemtive meds if you are suffering badly so early. What meds were you on last time? Have you got any kesostix left to check ketones for the early stages of dehydration? What liquids helped - were flat full sugar coke, the juice of tinned fruit, or ice lollies any good? Some other liquids have been found useful; Lucozade, Elderflower water, soda water, ice cubes, sips of chocolate milkshake (maybe soya), orange squash, fizzy orange, Dr Pepper jelly. For food of a sort, melon or mango, tinned fruit, (especially peaches) nibbles of crisps, cuppa soup, cheap ice cream and some say chips are bearable too.
Snipples Oh no about car vomits, embarrasing sink vomits and doctor. Do phone 024 7538 2020 Pregnancy Sickness Support for advice on how to obtain them.
dillydollydarling Oh dear, I suppose you have been admitted. I do hope you are getting fluids and feel a lot better.
BlueButTrue Sorry you are in No Man's Land still. That sounds awful! I hope you are not dehydrated, as well as everything else.

Greenbeanie is good to know you are due at around the same time as me. I am have so much respect for you going through this a second time.
oklahoma I have just eaten most of a bag of popcorn for dinner. It's the first thing I have actally enjoyed eating in ages. I have had a really bad day with the sickness so hopefully it will help.

Lucinda it's so exciting to see my name on the due date listSmile.

Oklahoma · 01/11/2017 20:37

Elephant I cant promise it will stop you puking but it stops the bike from burning quite so badly if you do

Greenbeanie88 · 01/11/2017 21:01

elephant I found the 1st time round my sickness went at 17 weeks. I was throwing up loads every day & lost weight but no meds (why oh why?! - I think I just thought it was normal Shock). It's been emotional revisiting those feelings of not wanting to be pregnant just to feel normal again this time round. I have a different sickness though - less vomiting but defo more debilitating in that I've been in bed for weeks with exhaustion & 24/7 nausea. Plus not sleeping because i feel so uncomfortable.
My dinner tonight - crackers and a Solero because of what emu said(!)

justtheonethen · 01/11/2017 21:46

Ugh, spectacular after dinner vomit which hasn't happened for a few weeks. Thoroughly fed up but had to laugh as every time I heaved I farted Blush. I literally have no control over my body now. Poor DH, I was spewing, farting and sobbing.

justtheonethen · 01/11/2017 22:04

Run out of avomine (take it at night to help me sleep), I know I can just buy it over counter but will they be weird/not sell it to me as I'm preggers? Trying to work out if I should get DH to get it instead.

BlueButTrue · 01/11/2017 22:44

justtheonethen Sorry to hear it - I quite like the sympathy I get from DH after I’ve been really sick and because being sick usually makes me feel better, I sometimes soak it all in Grin

As for the pharmacy thing, I’d get your DH to buy it. I’ll give you a link to a thread I started a while back so you may see why Wink

thingymaboob · 01/11/2017 22:57

Anyone else have food / stomach contents just come up and run out into mouth when you lie down without any wretching / burping?

justtheonethen · 01/11/2017 23:10

thingy it's grim.

blue your thread is why I asked! Saw it earlier! Think I'll send DH!

justtheonethen · 01/11/2017 23:11

And I like the sympathy too, the nausea is more awful for me but I get less sympathy as that's hidden Grin

DeadDoorpost · 01/11/2017 23:54

I can't get comfortable. Hips are driving me crazy if I lay on them for too long in the same position as though they've gone stiff. And I keep catching the blasted skin tag on my boob because I can't wear a top as it's too hot for me atm. We don't even have the heating on!

OnNaturesCourse · 02/11/2017 03:34

I need some nice tasting, low calorie, non vom, midnight snack recommendations that don't induce heartburn or reflex.

Every night I can't sleep then end up bloody starving but scared to ear in fear of finding myself fighting my refluxy, acid filled, vom body attacks.

OnNaturesCourse · 02/11/2017 03:34

And Dead. I feel for you with the hips. Do you have SPD?

Themummy76 · 02/11/2017 05:43

Does anyone have anymore info or looked into the research between h pylori and hypermesis? I’m not pregnancy at the moment but suffered two horrendous hypermesis pregnancies (ah I remember puking in the car and whilst driving so well!).
I saw some research that linked the two - 95% of women with hypermesis test positive for it against 50% of a control population but I can’t really find more than that. I’m testing positive and having antibiotics for them atm - how anazimg would it be if there was something that decreases my sickness if/so I could have another baby. Anyone any wiser than me on this topic??

pippanippa · 02/11/2017 06:47

Hi everyone, sounds like suffering all round! Themummy when we were planning a 2nd pregnancy I visited the Dr beforehand and she told me about the link so I got tested just in case. I was negative, but unfortunately got sick this time round too, but I really hope that treating it staves off HG for you!

A horrible night here, epic vomit of dinner as I was trying to get to sleep and then in the middle of the night too, with that awful seasick feeling, my few good days is over again and I'm back to bed.

I'm really sorry, I know I have missed out pages of the thread as things have moved quickly. A bit tired at the moment though, but will catch up later!

Shehz21 · 02/11/2017 06:53

Just woke up with sore hips and bad lower back ache..
Had an 8hr flight yesterday back to London from Dubai and another 2 hours by car from the airport to reach home and had the most majestic vilepuking session on my doorstep when I reached.
Crawled in bed by 8 and kept heaving until it ended in another vom sesh in my long lost friend, the sick bucket. Long voyages are definitely a killer in our situation...

thingymaboob me! It's my daily after meal reality. Though I find sometimes ranitidine can help with that? Atleast with the awful burning sensation which comes along with the food.

justtheonethen I sent DH when I ran out before my trip to Dubai. Here in my area they won't sell half of the pharmacy contents to me.
Are you on avomine alone?

Waves and commiserations to everyone. Seems like a lot of us are currently suffering but to the ones who are so close to the finishing line, special hugs and wishes for strength for you all. You are almost there Flowers

Shehz21 · 02/11/2017 06:56

pippa Sorry crossposted with you.
Gentle handhold for the previous night of epic vom body attacks.
Same here, missed out on a lot. Thread has moved so fast but too sick and tired atm. Will catch up later Flowers

justtheonethen · 02/11/2017 07:31

Hey shehz that journey sounds killer! No not avomine alone, I'm taking ondansetron and metoclopromide with ranitidine but I find they stop me sleeping so added in avomine at night.

pippa poor you, its rotten Flowers

onnatures I am the same, I get hungry at night but am gripped with fear of acid. I will follow for ideas.

themummy never even heard of that! Will have a research, thank you.

door you poor thing Flowers

Emu31 · 02/11/2017 07:59

Awww green I hope the Solero went down ok! I read my previous post back and hope it didn't seem too 'advicey', it's so different for everyone but I really got so much relief from my Soleros so hope it helped. Though I would also find that I'd suddenly completely go off something that had been a 'safe food' before, always seriously confused poor DH.

Shenz you are a hero for managing trip back from Dubai. Traveling with HG is awful and anxiety filled. I've done a couple of work trips abroad in the last few weeks (don't know why I didn't cancel looking back!) but an 8 hour flight is seriously tough. Well done for getting through it!

Oklahoma · 02/11/2017 09:06

Themummy I did quite a lot of research into it after my first HG pregnancy and got tested before this pregnancy but it was negative. I thought the stats were lower than 95% but definitely worth looking into as they were still significant.

Shehz21 · 02/11/2017 09:33

themummy Just finished reading through some research about the correlation between h pylori and hyperemesis. The percentage is significant enough to have women tested before planning a 2nd pregnancy after having suffered from one with hg. My Dr never even mentioned it to me so I had no idea what it even was until you mentioned it on your post. Made for quite an interesting and resourceful read though!

justtheonethen I am on avomine and metoclopromide (I am the only unlucky one on this thread who was refused ondansetron vehemently). But grateful for the avomine. Plus can't ignore the great sleep it gives me most nights.

Emu You all who are working whilst suffering with HG are the real heros. I couldn't cope honestly. Being in a 'vertical' position in the first 14 weeks was a major vom trigger.
Great respect for you and the rest who are still managing to work despite hg.
