I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.
MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk
If you need help in obtaining medication, phone them on:
024 7638 2020
Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy
I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.
Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

I spoke to the hospital and they told me to go straight in :( don't think I'll be able to eat and drink enough today to get levels down to be honest so probably best I go in

Oklahoma · 01/11/2017 10:48

Blue having a baby is much easier than being heavily pregnant with HG. For one thing you’re not flooded with crazy hormones and you don’t feel sick. Having a new baby is exhausting and pretty boring at times but it is far far better than your current situation.

justtheonethen · 01/11/2017 10:49

Definitely go in dilly Flowers

blue I bet you find motherhood a breeze compared to the hell of a difficult pregnancy.

Oklahoma · 01/11/2017 10:49

As much as it sucks it will make you feel better Dilly.

DeadDoorpost · 01/11/2017 10:50

I'd go for the drip too. Trying to get them yourself could take ages. (Says the woman who refused to go to get a drip because she's a stubborn little devil) I was a lucky one to be pretty much ok from week 16 with meds though. But my ketones are there and I'm fully aware of it I just CBA to get up and sort a drink out right now.
Natsku maybe you don't have GD but at least you know about the mango. pippa should test it to see if her sugars go up at all. If they don't then at least she could have that. (Obviously don't do it pippa if it'll cause actual probelms but we're so close to the end now you deserve nice things)
To all you ladies at the beginning of your pregnancies I say this: get as much help as you can. And sleep and let yourself rest for goodness sake! You can't recover if your body is being pushed to limits. snipples if you can get off work anytime soon I really hope you do so. If not, I'll send you all my good vibes and hope you don't suffer too badly. Try and up your dosage if you can.

Just had another weird dream for all of you to laugh at. Here goes:

I was shopping in Tesco with my parents and we came to a section with baby clothes and I threw a hissy fit because I was fed up. My dad didn't mind and told me it was perfectly understandable that I was fed up by now.
So we left, and I decided to sit outside in the step and pull my boob out because it hurt. Not a care in the world that other role would be able to see. It seemed to be hurting because it was blocked up by milk (I'm assuming. There was white stuff stuck on and in the nipple) so I cleaned it out but then my nipple started to seem to transform. The areola was now a fleshy walkway almost with cracks in it and there was more of this dried milk so I picked at it but it didn't seem to be going.
And then I twisted my boob around to see that I had grown a second nipple on the side of my boob? But it felt more like a spot or something rather than a nipple.
And by this point my actual nipple looked like the nose of a star-nosed mole. I shall try and find a picture just for that image alone.

This is it. Pregnancy dreams have peaked 😂😂😂😂😂

DeadDoorpost · 01/11/2017 10:52

This is why I have peaked in weird dreams. Behold, the star-nosed mole.

justtheonethen · 01/11/2017 11:11

door I am both Shock and Grin at that dream. I found myself gasping when you pulled your boob out, then I remembered it was a dream Grin.

justtheonethen · 01/11/2017 11:12

That mole Grin

Snipples · 01/11/2017 11:12

Dilly I agree with the others. Best to go in for the drip if you can. I had one last week and while being hospitalized isn't great, I felt so much better after they'd got some fluids into me.

Blue sorry you also had an embarrassing sink episode. I was mortified. I tried in vain to unblock it. I was also in the side disabled cubicle. I walked out thinking the coast was clear and there was someone waiting to go in with a little wash bag. I had to say oh I wouldn't use this one. I'll need to get a cleaner, I've been a bit unwell. Didn't know what else to say - she blatently thought I'd shit myself (the shame) even though the entire bathroom reeked of vomit. I then put a cone in front of the door as a warning to others. Totally mortifying.

Thanks for all the advice re meds. I'm in Dubai so can't use the list of good docs but I'm going to try and find another doc out here as I need the drugs to function.

Where is this bastard glow I was promised 👀

DeadDoorpost · 01/11/2017 11:15

@BlueButTrue Yeah, the left side actually helps with digestion and supposedly should also then help with heartburn. It just seems to help with blood flow and other things basically.

DeadDoorpost · 01/11/2017 11:17

blue Sorry, to add to That, everyone has a side or a way of sleeping that is more comfortable. The majority of the pregnancy has been me sleeping on my front which is never usually comfortable. I'm now back to sleeping on my left.

lookingforthecorkscrew · 01/11/2017 11:39

So sorry you need the drip, Dilly.

GP gave me Ondansetron today as metoclopramide wasn’t cutting it. Hoping to be able to function on a basic level now.

justtheonethen · 01/11/2017 11:52

looking hurrah, it's a wonder. Just be aware you might need to take it with something else. Neither work on their own for me but ondansetron and metoclopromide together do.

justtheonethen · 01/11/2017 11:53

I mostly sleep on my right, I'm trying to sleep on left but it's not as comfy. Should I persist with left?

DeadDoorpost · 01/11/2017 11:59

just you might find that it changes anyway. I've done a lot of swapping. Midwives usually used to suggest sleeping on your left but they don't tend to do so so much now. Except mine who told me I needed to sleep on my right to help move the baby.

Oklahoma · 01/11/2017 12:02

Just I would just enjoy sleeping and not worry too much about what position you’re in. Your body will stop you from lying in any position that might harm the baby.

justtheonethen · 01/11/2017 12:19

Ok phew! Thanks Smile

BlueButTrue · 01/11/2017 13:08

Snipples Oh bless you, you’re more honest than me! I would have fibbed and said “Oh I wouldn’t go in there if I were you, someone’s left it in a right state!” Grin

Yes yes to that magical pregnancy glow. Where the feckery is it? More to the point, where is that normal human feeling gone? I seem to have turned into a zombie woman! And where’s the fluffy and pink delusional pregnancy ‘omg I’m having a baby, so exciting!’, wonder?

It isn’t around for me.

I suspect it really is all worth it though, otherwise no one would have more than one baby... And I’ve come across a few ladies now who’ve suffered HCG/horrid pregnancy delights yet still go on to have more children

BlueButTrue · 01/11/2017 13:10

Oh and just to add, I keep reading personal stories from people who’ve previously had HCG and they find the early motherhood stages a walk in the park in comparison

DeadDoorpost · 01/11/2017 13:32

We've all had HCG blue 😉 HG on the other hand...
Yeah my nan and mum found it easier too. I do have to gloat though and say that I've had the pregnancy glow only time it'll happen as usually I have pretty spotty skin. So it's a nice change for me

Oklahoma · 01/11/2017 13:34

Does glowing a grey/green hue count?

Oklahoma · 01/11/2017 13:35

Blue it is worth it. I’m doing it for a second time and looking at my daughter is the only thing that keeps me going some days.

Mustang27 · 01/11/2017 13:48

That’s my only claim to a glow Oklahoma so I’m saying yes lol.

justtheonethen · 01/11/2017 13:54

My 'glow' is the same oklahoma, and terrible skin Sad

BlueButTrue · 01/11/2017 14:35

We've all had HCG blue 😉 HG on the other hand...

See! I really am ill BlushGrin
