I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.
MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk
If you need help in obtaining medication, phone them on:

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.
Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Does anyone else fantasise about food they couldn't eat. I bought my self a copy of Good Food's Vegetarian Christmas and have enjoyed reading the recipes. I have also been reading the Christmas baking threads on here.
I couldn't actually eat any of the food but I like thinking about it from a safe distance. I think I am going nuts.

Greenbeanie88 · 29/10/2017 16:27

has anyone been taking rehydration sachets? I took one a few weeks back when I'd literally had no liquids/food - and was able to keep it down. It made me feel a lot better. I'm wondering if I might just try and add one sachet a day in. Also wondering if anyone has found anything which has given them any smidgen of energy at all. I'm so fed up of feeling weak.
@elephantgrey - last pregnancy you couldn't say the word supermarket to me without me throwing up but this time I've found that I can watch GBBO & enjoy it without really associating it back to how I feel about food.

seizethecuttlefish · 29/10/2017 16:33

Elephant I’m the same. I have moments where I really want this or that and then feel queasy and think, best not. I’m torturing myself looking at baking recipes too.
Emu I was on omprezole when I was pregnant last time. I kept throwing up gaviscon and when the dr tried to prescribe it again I apparently (husbands version, I don’t remember this) screamed there must be another way! Very dramatically. I have been known to be a bit of a drama llama. I have had acid reflux for the last couple of days, so might mention it at next appt. It frustrates me as it’s worse when I don’t eat and drinking water seems to trigger it.
I managed to have a shower, sitting on my old lady stool and wash my hair. I feel positively fragrant. I did retch for 10 mins after I got out but I still smell nice! Good day so far. Felt good this morning, so done some ironing. Now I’m feeling rough but hey ho, one day at a time.
Fingers crossed for blue. I’ll confess here that I never packed a hospital bag. Ended up just chucking things in, when I was told I was being induced. Must be better organised!

NonStopDisco · 29/10/2017 16:35

@ElephantGrey I’ve been fantasising about food all pregnancy, and staring at restaurant pictures of food I can’t go near! I have a list of things I want to eat after the birth.

Mustang27 · 29/10/2017 19:20

The acid has ramped up so much this last week it’s really killing me. I’m taking some type of chalky tablets called biscodyl they are ok but I’m thinking I’d maybe benefit from something a bit stronger. At 33 weeks I’m a bit like dead and Pippa and just done with chasing meds in hope it cures clearly the incurable . Problem being I don’t feel remotely ready for baby two but totally ready not to be pregnant anymore.

Good luck @BlueButTrue you will do awesome.

Oh Dead that does sound promising the blood could be a bit of a show. You could take a feel of your cervix if you are curious lol.

Amelia why do dog has to be so dramatic whilst vomiting it is so loud. Poor you hope you got some extra rest throughout the day.

DeadDoorpost · 29/10/2017 19:25

mustang aha I said to blue that I don't know if I want to check my own cervix but I might do. Not seen any more since earlier but keeping an eye out.
I've felt sick today without the ondansetron but I've not been sick so that's something at least. I do feel weird though not taking them.

thingymaboob · 29/10/2017 19:39

@Greenbeanie88 I was drinking at least one sachet of rehydration sachets during the worst days. Sometimes it was the only thing I could drink on that day. I was always meaning to make ice cubes out of them, but even that was too much effort!!

Natsku · 29/10/2017 19:52

How many weeks are you again Dead? fingers crossed its the show, are you going to call your midwife to inform about the blood just in case?

I remember when I was pregnant with DD and I noticed blood on the toilet roll and panicked, had an appointment that day with the OB at the hospital (I was high risk for a while because of the kidney issue so had to go to the hospital for extra appointments) and went there and worriedly told about the blood and at that very moment remembered I had nicked myself trimming my pubes earlier that morning so that was the cause of the blood!

DeadDoorpost · 29/10/2017 22:14

Aha Natsku 37 weeks today and definitely not the show. There's been no more blood, no mucus, nada since so who knows what it was. I did the same though with my pubes the other week. First time I've ever cut myself.

DeadDoorpost · 30/10/2017 01:03

@BlueButTrue thread is here, seeing as you can't find it aha.
Overall today hasn't been too bad. Felt sick after dinner but kept it down, then really fancied cake and custard after I'd made a cake for DH to take to his bring and share lunch for work tomorrow. I didn't enjoy it as mich as I thought I would.

DeadDoorpost · 30/10/2017 02:07

Me again. I'm feeling rough as anything. Completely forgot how bad it can be without the tablets. Won't be surprised info throw up now.

Shehz21 · 30/10/2017 05:36

Welcome and commiserations to newcomers Flowers

Happy to see you back Emu31. Great advice about the omeprazole. Been interchanging between that and ranitidine since week 16. I do favor the omeprazole more though ;)

Natsku & Dead That happened to me yesterday and I panicked like a mad cow until my DH pointed out the tiny cut. I am only 19+4 though so not expecting any show of any kind anytime soon..

Dead warm hugs to you. Hope the light at the end of the tunnel is near for you and you are able to cope for the next couple of weeks (days maybe?)without the medecines but I would take them if they can make you feel remotely better until Baby Door decides to make an appearance.
Very excited for you Pippa & Natsku who are slowly but surely waddling towards the Pink Castle! Sending much strength and courage your way ladies for the last leg!

Can't find BlueButTrue post but hoping for a great labour and delivery experience for her!

BlueButTrue · 30/10/2017 07:07

Aha! Finally found you all again

It appears I’m in labour all... Although not much has changed since yesterday, contractions still six minutes apart but they are a bit sore now!

The end is in sight

Just as well, visited the hospital yesterday and didn’t make it to the loo. The sink was completely blocked with my ‘HG problem’

The only thing that gives me respite is salt and vinegar snacker jacks and sugar free red bull... not the greatest of things to be having

Fingers crossed it’s all over soon.

I was suppose to be having a section!

Hope everyone is okay(ish).

I’m never doing this pregnancy bollocks again

Natsku · 30/10/2017 07:09

Urgh Dead can't you ask for another prescription if you're still feeling rough? Is there any reason to not prescribe onandsetron in the last few weeks? (That is what you were on, right?)

I've got midwife appointment tomorrow and going to ask for an appointment with the OB this week as my nausea is getting worse again but I'm 3rd tri now and according to the doctor my medicine isn't suitable for 3rd tri (although its used in 3rd tri in US and Canada so I'm not so sure about that, definitely going to question it). Plus I'm pretty sure I have SPD now and its really bothering me, can't walk or stand for more than 5 minutes. And I have to ask about flying at the end of next month as I need to go to the UK (its my brother's high court appeal, really want to be there to support him).

Natsku · 30/10/2017 07:10

Ooo labour Blue! I hope it goes smoothly for you and not too long or painful - can't wait to hear that little baby blue is born!

Ameliablue · 30/10/2017 07:37

Good luck Blue

seizethecuttlefish · 30/10/2017 08:11

Good luck blue.

DeadDoorpost · 30/10/2017 09:05

natsku I have asked 😭😭 which is why it's a pain. I need to phone the pharmacy up again to see if it's just taken ages to come through. If not I'll phone the Dr and talk to him about it.
Posted on fb about it and woke up to a message to my dad saying that if I think it's going to be bad then it will be. Too tired to be properly mad at him but still.
shehz looks like it'll be a few weeks yet. Decided to get DH to feel my cervix as I've got really short fingers. Seems to be hard still so that's fine. As long as I know I'm all good. Doesn't mean it'll stay that way but I'm expecting another week at least. Still think he'll be early.

Oh, dreamt someone suggested ginger to me about the sixksicknessness. I'm not escaping it still 😂

Oklahoma · 30/10/2017 09:12

Good luck Blue!

Natsku your post really made me laugh.

Sorry am a bit behind on the thread we have builders and decorators and it was Oklette’s birthday party at the weekend so it’s been a bit chaotic here. I have just taken her to nursery and am going back to bed for the day. I still can’t shake this cold and feel like death. Every time I cough I throw up (and wet myself). 3 weeks to go...

pippanippa · 30/10/2017 09:18

It's been busy again on this thread! Welcome to everyone new Emu you're so right about the antacids helping, and Elephant so many food cravings here!

Deaddoor I have made 0 progress in packing the hospital bag so far, to my shame....I am hoping today is the day...but I say that every day! Sorry to hear you're feeling so rubbish this morning.

Blue really exciting news, I hope everything goes well!!

All as normal here, throwing up, exhausted, just limping towards the end...

DeadDoorpost · 30/10/2017 10:12

Phoned the pharmacy and I've got some waiting for me. I'm so happy right now

Greenbeanie88 · 30/10/2017 10:24

Good luck Blue! So I've gone back to the cyclizine and it did stop me throwing up a bit - only 3 times yesterday. I'm going to try and get into a bit of a routine with it to see if it continues to help. I'm also going to hit the rehydration sachets and try dextro energy tabs as I read about someone with HG that found they helped first thing in the morning - anyone tried these?

Emu31 · 30/10/2017 11:01

Good luck Blue! Greenbeanie I did find rehydration sachets quite helpful, they made me feel a bit better and weirdly I was able to tolerate the taste of them as usually they make me feel queasy at the best of times. They also just helped to make me feel a bit less anxious about losing nutrients when being sick. I haven't tried energy tablets (though I found that tangy harribos gave me a bit of energy). For a while the only food I could rely on tolerating was Solero ice creams, the mango taste just went down so well and I found them really soothing (they are also a nice texture on the way back up!).

Oklahoma · 30/10/2017 11:05

It’s funny how different people tolerate different things, even a sip of those dehydration sachets made me puke every drop of water in my body up

Natsku · 30/10/2017 11:30

That's great dead!
