I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is great: 024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.

So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Seems OK today so far so fingers crossed I just overdid it yesterday and it doesn't reappear.

BlueButTrue · 20/09/2017 11:52

Well ladies, I went to an interview at 32 weeks and I've got the job Blush

I'm unaware if they actually know I'm pregnant... it's an odd one.

The hours and location are great for me, plus it's the same employer (NHS), so maternity pay isn't impacted.

I will no longer have to travel to that awful place each day, whooo!

Lemondrop99 · 20/09/2017 11:53

Congrats Blue! That's brilliant!

DeadDoorpost · 20/09/2017 12:01

Woohoo!!! Some good news for you that's great!!

pippanippa · 20/09/2017 12:53

Congratulations Blue that's brilliant news! Anyone heard from mamabear? - I hope that baby isn't keeping her waiting still and wasn't sure if I'd missed a post.

Beautifulliar you have nothing to feel ashamed of at all, I think everyone here can totally understand, HG is such an awful situation, especially when you already have family to consider. Definitely worth chatting to your GP like suggested - they can do some practical things (like check for H.Pylori which can exacerbate sickness and treat before a pregnancy), but also just talk to you about the various treatment options. The Pregnancy Support Sickness website also has a useful section on planning for an HG pregnancy, simple things like writing down what you need to put in place to help (childcare, job-wise, housework). I found that particularly helpful, particularly doing it together with my DH so he understood what he could do to help etc. It meant we had little things sorted in advance (e.g. some frozen meals etc when too ill to cook).

Natsku · 20/09/2017 12:55

Congrats Blue!

Just had the Anatomy scan - all good, everything normal and healthy looking and I'm having a boy Grin (not planning on telling anyone else yet apart from grandma who wants to know what colour mittens to knit sigh but can tell you lot :))

DeadDoorpost · 20/09/2017 13:11

Another boy to add to the list. Maybe scientists need to rethink the myth of girls causing sickness... how many have/are having girls this year? I can only remember boys being mentioned

DeadDoorpost · 20/09/2017 13:14

I've also just filled out the maternity grant form so hopefully that will get sent off on Friday after my midwife apointment.
And I'm having to force myself to eat today. Really don't feel like it. And I think I'm dehydrated again s my lips are drying out which DH thinks is a sign. sighs

pippanippa · 20/09/2017 13:35

Great news Natsku! Deaddoor ours is a surprise, but there definitely seem to be more boys than girls expected on here at the moment!

DeadDoorpost · 20/09/2017 13:59

Yeah, I personally think you're nuts for not finding out 😂😂 but only because I get surprises.

My sister just texted me asking me for another picture of my bump. She's 12 and is really excited for the baby. She said she's most looking forward to the cuddles and waiting in the visit if she's there (she won't be and I've told her that) but she can definitely have cuddle.
And she's just messaged me again with advice on looking after him, bless her

dillydollydarling · 20/09/2017 14:13

So after seeing the doctors yesterday morning, ketones were at +4 and they sent me straight up to hospital. 4 bags of fluids and some tablets and they let me home. Today I've been taking cyclizine again alongside the ondansetron and so far I seem to be better. Although I think being hydrated helps in itself. I forgot how awful you feel when you're seriously dehydrated.

I'm currently laying in bed while OH is at work and my daughter is with her Nanny. There's so much stuff that I want to do but I know it will make me ill if I do it so forcing myself to rest.

I think OH and I are going to have to consider finding a new home for our 14 week old puppy. We got him before finding out I was pregnant and now I'm struggling to give him the time and walks that he needs. I feel awful for him being left alone much more than I'd like :( it's not fair on him to suffer.

Shehz21 · 20/09/2017 14:35

@Blue congratulations! I cnt even imagine working tthroughout this pregnancy(except if the HG magically subsides and i get that sudden burst of energy most wonen get in 2nd trimester).
Well done and cheers to a new startFlowers

@Natsku yay a boy! Your DD will now have a baby brother! You must be looking forward to meeting LO.

DH is hoping we are expecting a boy but since it's my 1st and probably my last; I don't mind whichever.

@DeadDoorpost I feel the same today. Woke up and threw up bile. Been reluctant to touch food since... oh btw are you expecting a boy too?

Natsku · 20/09/2017 14:41

DD is going to be gutted it's a boy! Oh well, she'll get used to the idea of a little brother soon enough.

Shehz21 · 20/09/2017 14:43

@dillydollydarling sending warm hugs your way. I'm sorry you are feeling so awful and the hospital episode must have been tiring in itself though the rehydration was well needed, +4 ketones!Shock
Hope you feel better soon and do rest as it has always been worse for me when I try to do too much while in recovery.
Aww just noticed the puppy bit.
It doesn't help your state with the guilt about the pup. It's not your fault though. Hopefully you can find a new home for the puppy, I myself would have gladly taken it if not for my condition!

Shehz21 · 20/09/2017 14:45

@Natsku lol i'm sure they gonna be best friends Halo kids are full of surprises!

Mustang27 · 20/09/2017 14:51

Ooo lots of congrats on order love it.

YaaY to the blue mittens Natsku I think mines is another boy but we will see.

Well done Blue I really hope they know as that would be a bummer if they didn't. I'm sure now they have offered you it they can't discriminate now (crosses everything possible for you)

Sheh I said mini mustang was my first and last but here I am again Blush I'm getting sterilised after this though. You do forget how awful hg is but it did make labour feel easy for me. Silver lining g and all that.

Gosh Dilly how many times is that for you now you really are going through the mill but it's best to get the fluids. Try not to worry about the dog at 14 weeks they will be snapped up by a lovely new family I'm sure and be no worse for their brief stop off at yours. Dogs are hard work forever too so at least you will get a wee break.

Dead that's adorable I love that what a wee star your sister is.

Sorry you are suffering Lemon.

Natsku I'm the same if I walk too much and had full on spd last pregnancy but seem to be coping better this time round but I don't think my hips ever went back to anywhere near pre pregnancy so maybe that's what's helping this time.

How you feeling pippa how's things with your ketones and stuff? Better I hope.

Sorry if I missed anyone.

Shehz21 · 20/09/2017 15:05

@Mustang27 Haha I guess once you have that adorable baby in your arms, it does make you forget everything else. Even HG!
DH would like another one though. Let's see I might be in the same boat as you after having my little one. [Grin]
How far along are you? I am guessing a boy as well for myself, have a gender scan at babybond in 3 weeks to find out. Super excited! Is mini mustang a dd or ds?

Natsku · 20/09/2017 15:24

Scan pic! Also got a pic of his crown jewels Grin

Mustang27 · 20/09/2017 16:25

Natsku that's the clearest 3D scan iv seen I think. What a cutie.

27 weeks Sheh I was one of the unlucky ones sick all the way through and this pregnancy looks set to be the same. Mini is a 2yr old boy, he is brilliant which has contributed to my current predicament lol. Yeah as soon as I had him it did make it worthwhile but there really is no way I'm doing this again lol.

Lemondrop99 · 20/09/2017 16:31

What a cutie Natsku! Yes, another boy. There seems to be a high abundance of them on this thread lately Grin

Mustang27 · 20/09/2017 16:53

Another old wives tale debunked Lemon as everyone says must be a "girl" if you are so sick

Lemondrop99 · 20/09/2017 16:53

Just a thought - does anyone know what (if anything) is done about HG in labour? I know a lot of women throw up in labour anyway, but in a bit worried I'm going to chuck up all through it. Do they just give you a bowl and leave you to crack on? Or do they give you anti-emetics (tablets? Drip?). What about throwing up during an EMCS? I've had so much nausea and vomiting lately, I'm sure this will be happening in labour too (like labour isn't bad enough already!)

DeadDoorpost · 20/09/2017 16:54

Shehz yeah boy here as well. I didn't need a scan to tell me as I just knew. I'm pretty good at knowing things in a spooky way. The scan was nice just to confirm it though even if I missed seeing it on the screen (I turned to my DH to say 'told you') but got a clear shot at a later scan. Couldn't miss it 😂😂

Lemondrop99 · 20/09/2017 16:54

Yep Mustang. So many people predicted I was having a girl because of the sickness. The only person convinced it was a girl, was my friend - who had HG with both her boys!!

Lemondrop99 · 20/09/2017 16:55

*convinced it was a boy
