I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is great: 024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.

So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

mustang maybe you're a better double agent than you thought? Grin

Interesting reading all the GTT info, will be storing that away for my test in December. I'm dreading it.

two hope you have some luck soon! Hope even harder that you avoid HG this time.

Hurrah for teeth brushing seize, I've had to change to a pearl drops whitening toothpaste that isn't very minty as mint weirdly is a massive trigger for me. It's alarmingly pink though Grin
I can't even smell chewing gum anymore.

bunny ondansetron is the bollocks, end of Smile

to everyone, if I missed anything then apologies.

10:40 appointment time after fasting?! Shouldn't be allowed! They only do the glucose test at 8 or 8:20 here because people are obviously really hungry.

I wasn't allowed to leave, was told I had to sit still and move as little as possible the whole time. Also my blood was taken 3 times altogether, so beginning, after one hour and then the second hour. Odd how differently it's done.

Mustang27 · 19/10/2017 17:28

Oh god Natsku that sounds like a form of torture.

I have no idea what you are talking about Justtheone Wink

pippanippa · 19/10/2017 17:34

That's how it's done here too Natsku, you're not allowed to leave in case you become ill, but also I guess it might be because walking around a lot could skew the test as it would presumably reduce glucose levels.

Evening ladies, had a scan today and it's confirmed I'm 7 weeks, official due date 8 June although I'll be having a planned section at 37 weeks so really it's mid may. We've decided to tell family and close friends today due to people asking me if I'm still poorly from a chest infection I had a month ago. I couldn't drag that out anymore! I feel so much better knowing I have some more support at hand if needed.
I was able to eat some very salty fries from McDonald's today and have kept them down but unfortunately it's the time if the day that I crawl into bed with a sick bowl and wish the evening away. I for some reason am much worse after 3pm that's when the extreme sickness hits. I'm thinking of upping my ondansetron by an extra tablet in the evenings. I'm currently in 3x 4mg but have been told I scan take up to 4 tablets a day. Is anybody else on the higher dose? Do you find it helps?
Hello to the new ladies too xxx

Oklahoma · 19/10/2017 18:28

Sally my GP said I could take up to 6x4mg in a day and I normally take one in the morning, two at lunchtime and one in the evening so yes I am on that dose and I think you can still go higher if you need to. I also take promethazine and ranitidine which helps.

Oklahoma · 19/10/2017 18:29

And yes the double dose helps a lot. But you need a LOT of lactulose to keep things moving

Natsku · 19/10/2017 18:58

Def up the dose Sally worth trying to see if it helps.

My arms are so achy - I took DD swimming yesterday and they had a Wibit aqua track and the staff said I needed to go on it with DD because she's not a strong swimmer and almost fell off many times and had to pull myself up with my arms - bet I looked quite a sight with my 6 month bump wobbling over the track! Grin

Sally8655 · 19/10/2017 19:29

This is music to my ears oaklahoma! I probably won't need the actualise as I've got colitis and the crappy food diet I'm currently only able to eat is making me rather loose. I'm so pleased though that this time I can be sick and feel semi normal for a short while after. My husband is rather confused that I've just puked my guts up and now tucking into a pot noodle 😳 I've told him I need to eat while I can!

LucindaE · 19/10/2017 20:11

Spearo So glad you are a bit better today.
TwoDrifters Sorry no news to tell us yet on ttc - no doubt it will happen when you are not thinking about it...
Sally I'll put you down for mid May.
Off to create a new thread, we are running out of space, so I daren't leave it overnight. Back asap.
