I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is great: 024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.

So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Hair you and I would get on well!! My 2 yr old is partial to eating Kerrygold on its own lol much to my mils disgust. Addicted to all cooking programmes not just in pregnancy though. Sorry your sandwich made a reappearance bread is horrible second time around and gluten free stuff is the pits.

Im still impressed Dead.

Good luck seize I really should do some Christmas shopping too. I may just cancel it in my house this year, mini can get but all other family and friends can forget it lol.

Hairgician · 06/10/2017 17:16

Lol Mustang my 4yr old ds was the same when really little! Used to get a spoon and sit and eat it!!

LucindaE · 06/10/2017 18:31

BlueButTrue Oh no. I am glad it is not eclaympsia, but a b urst ulcer sounds awful. You have suffered a lot of misfortunes. Anyway, one good thing is that though your cervix began to open the baby has stayed put!
Lemondrop Oh dear. I am sorry that Baby Lemon didn't come out to play though the moon shone as bright as day.
Batman Banana milkshake- SNAP, I remember that as nice on the way up. Should it be added to recommendations? Ha Ha about Batman. One needs to be a super hero to survive Hyperemesis - Hyperemesis Heroine, maybe - complete with red cloak and knickers outside her tights...Sorry; I think the full moon is affecting me, anyway!
AmeliaBlue How are you?
HairgicianSorry to hear that the banana sandwich reappared.
DeadDoorPost Wishing you all luck for turning baby.
pippasnippa It is worrying, but I know one can have a small bump and a healthy sized baby if one has been ill - its happened to a number of women on here.
Seize I do hope the new combination helps and that the uti clears up quickly. They are horrible and women with Hyperemesis are susceptble to those, what with never being able to drink as much water as they would like.
Natsku Sorry they were negligent the first time; I am glad that now they are taking things seriously.

Thank you ladies Flowers

I just want to be my normal self again, I can't take any more of this sickness and constant worry, now coupled with stomach bleeding.

DeadDoorpost · 07/10/2017 01:30

Was just about to get out the shower earlier today and I suddenly felt like I'd been stabbed in the vag. Pain didn't last long but wasn't the nicest thing to experience considering I showered purely to try and feel better. Poor DH thought I was shouting at him when it happened. Anyone else find they shout or get frustrated at their body when things happen and their partners think they're the ones being told off?

Mustang27 · 07/10/2017 04:10

Oh dead that sounds pants. I’m quite shouty so yeah. I’m doing hypnobirthing to help keep me calm when in labour, we shall see how that pans out. Hope you are ok.

You will be Blue, hugs.

Natsku · 07/10/2017 08:48

I've had a stomach ulcer burst before too Blue, painful and unpleasant for sure! And you won't be able to use NSAIDs again.

Shehz21 · 07/10/2017 10:08

Blue Oh dear my heart goes out to you. You are really having it rough. I am Rhesus D too and am quite clueless to the risk it carries to my baby. Midwife informed me I would need couple of injections throughout my pregnancy but that's pretty much it.
Hoping you feel better soon Flowers

Lemon Argh that full moon turned out to be sheer disappointment! I do remember you saying you had a sweep and thought that would help getting things moving. Really excited to hear news from you about Baby Lemon being in your arms soon!

Dead I've been quite pathetic towards my husband lately. Sometimes I just feel like I need to be alone and push him -gently- away and it really gets to him. I wish I was HG free, I wish I could be the same towards him as before this pregnancy, I wish none of you were suffering.
Well all vain wishes.

Shehz21 · 07/10/2017 10:17

Maybe this can help?

Hairgician · 07/10/2017 10:55

So another shitty day.Envy not keeping anything down as yet. Though not eaten as feeling so ill. Could well see me back in the hospital before the weekend is out if meds don't pull their finger out and make it go away.
Going to go to garage to get stuff. This should be fun as involves driving. Fml. Keep telling myself it will be worth it in the end.

LucindaE · 07/10/2017 12:02

Oh dear, Hairgician: much sympathy! You have been putting up a brave fight against those ketones, with banana sandwiches etc.
Blue and Shehz The risks can be controlled pretty well now, but the will keep a careful eye on you.
Are iron drops in liquid form available over the counter? I honestly don't know , but worth asking for (it can be so difficult getting anything not prescribed by the doctor when pregnant, though; even vitamins.
Sorry for all those feeling down today.

Hairgician sorry about the rough start of the day.. can understand as I'm feeling exactly the same.. hope we turn the corner soon.
Hard to keep positive while bursting blood vessels in my face due to excessive vomiting. But yeah keep thinking it will all be worth it when baby is out.

Hairgician · 07/10/2017 12:27

Shezh I feel your pain on the burst vessels. Had that last time.

Just back k from garage and bought
Custard pots, rice pud, Apple sauce, tinned peaches and pears, quavers, pasta carbonara that am doing now, tuc crackers, sprite and choc milk.
So not what I usually eat but worth a try.

Hairgician · 07/10/2017 12:28

Oh and some mint options hot choc sachets.

seizethecuttlefish · 07/10/2017 13:28

@Shehz21 I had burst blood vessels last time, was pointed out but someone at work. I'd had a particularly bad vom session that morning and thought I looked composed until gobby chops shouted across the office, "oh my god what happened to your face?"
@Hairgician sounds an interesting food combo but who cares lol. I now eat with an eye for what is easier to throw up. I feel your pain.
I had a great day yesterday. No sick and managed to get downstairs loads. Today I'm dry heaving again, feeling dizzy (courtesy of the meds) and have the shakes. My 4 yr old is also being a nightmare and poor hubby is trying to do it all. Sad

Mustang27 · 07/10/2017 13:31

Snap on the burst blood vessels it’s pretty horrible.

Completely sympathise on toddlers being difficult and I just don’t have the strength.

Hope everyone feels a little better at points this weekend. Supposedly meteor showers over the next two evenings so if it’s a nice clear night wrap up and sit and watch the sky.

Hairgician · 07/10/2017 13:44

Ok so managed some pasta carbonara (a Knorr packet job.) Took my time and chewed thoroughly. So far so good. Now trying some Devon custard (low fat version so easier on tummy) with dollop of Apple sauce in it. Omfg it's fucking amazing!! Was doing bit of reading on eating with HG so trying to get some extra cals in when I'm in eating mood as prob wont last long.

seizethecuttlefish · 07/10/2017 14:26

I do love custard! Weirdly though, everything I'm eating at the mo tastes chemically....

Natsku · 07/10/2017 14:56

Custard would be so nice right now (can't get proper custard here and I'm shit at making it myself)

Hairgician · 07/10/2017 16:12

I got a pack of 4 wee pots and put them in fridge. Was surprised how nice it was cold! Still no sign of it coming back up thankfully!

dillydollydarling · 07/10/2017 17:37

So I thought the ondansetron suppositories were working well. Until yesterday when dinner made a reappearance and I was sick twice in the space of half an hour :( I think I'm going to have to ring the doctors on Monday and ask for these injections! I just can't deal with the constant nausea and spending every evening throwing up. Especially when OH is working late at the moment and I have DD to deal with!

I did have a lovely 10 minutes earlier when I didn't feel the slightest bit nauseous and almost managed to forget the hg completely. Didn't last long before the wave hit me again though!

Yes, and I get quite worked up and DH looks very Sad and clueless, I think he really gets upset at not being able to help me at all really.

Yet still he doesn't know where to put his dirty washing

Natsku · 07/10/2017 18:32

I was eating a nakd bar earlier and was reading the Finnish ingredients translation sticker and it said "ginger is not recommended for pregnant women" - so on the one hand we get people telling us to eat ginger for the sickness, gah, and now on the other hand its apparently not suitable for us?!

LucindaE · 07/10/2017 18:53

dillydollydarling Sorry it isn't working; that might be a good idea.
Blue I meant to say to DeadDoorPost I had that now and then too. It's unneverving, but at least it feels nothing like miscarriage pangs. Is it hormonal - stertching, or what? Whatever it is, it is painful.
Natsku You must keep that packet and quote it at anyone who recommends ginger. In fact, everyone should...

@LucindaE my sil brought me in a packet of ginger nuts this morn when she came to lift ds for me...
