I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is great: 024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.

So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Oh well I didn't notice your last post Natsku
Well just gonna wish you tomorrow againGrin
Oh my wedding anni is in a couple of days and hoping to get a cleaning product from DH as well.
How's that new vacuum? My henry vacuum is an oldie but a goodie.

Natsku · 01/10/2017 12:09

Its one of those battery powered ones so I can do a quick clean up of a different room every day instead of doing the whole house at once with the normal vacuum. With a handheld bit that detaches so DD can vacuum the stairs (that's her job, does it with a dustpan and brush usually but the mini vacuum will be much easier for her). Just charging it up now so don't know how good it is yet but I picked out the one with the best reviews so hopefully good.

OH and DD are baking my cake now Grin

Happy anniversary in advance!

Lemondrop99 · 01/10/2017 12:26

Natsku, what dose of Omaprazole are you on? I take 1 x 20mg a day, but I think I've heard of people taking up to 2. Perhaps ask your GP about a higher dose? And happy birthday in advance for tomorrow!!

Moose, I vary between having vomity phases and dry heaving phases. The dry heaving is just as awful as it pulls everything. The nausea is just constant and I've always found that more debilitating than the vomiting. Sympathies to you.

Natsku · 01/10/2017 12:39

One a day. Will ask the OB about it, but might try GP if it's as bad as last night again so I don't have to wait until Thursday. Hope the new OB is decent, worried they'll be anti-meds in pregnancy like some are.

Dry heaving is really awful, so much more relief from an actual vomit.

Lemondrop99 · 01/10/2017 12:43

Worth a try. The other thing I found which made a difference (and you might already do this) was being religious about taking it at the same time each day. I found morning works best for me, just after I wake up. If I was a few hours late, the acid started to flare up again pretty quickly. It's bloody uncomfortable, isn't it?

Natsku · 01/10/2017 12:59

I take it as soon as I wake up when I take my thyroxine. Very uncomfortable and makes it impossible to lie down as that just brings the acid up. Makes me feel so sorry for reflux babies.

Lemondrop99 · 01/10/2017 13:33

Yes, I said exactly the same thing. I have a huge amount of sympathy for reflux babies now, especially as they can't even understand why it hurts Sad

seizethecuttlefish · 01/10/2017 14:47

Lemon I have serious nursery envy!
Loose I was being sick and the meds not just make me heave and retch constantly. I actually want to be sick, I'd feel better if I was sick. I'm sure of it.
Spent another day in bed. All the windows open as all I can smell is the garlic which DH kindly used to make lunch. Hoping the smell thing goes soon. Even DH smells!

DeadDoorpost · 01/10/2017 16:39

Happy early birthday Natsku and early happy anniversary Shehz
Cuttlefish there must be something about husband's and garlic... Mine loves the stuff nd uses so much when cooking. Ugh.

Pancakes were lovely and I ate more than I was expecting to. Maybe it's a good thing as BabyDoor has been a little wriggle bum all day today which he isn't often so DH has actually managed to feel him move a decent amount today. Spent a lot of time asleep myself and DH is now asleep himself. Not that he can move coz I've trapped his arm Grin

Oklahoma · 01/10/2017 20:43

Sorry not been on for a few days, had a dreadful week last week and ended up back in hospital on Friday I'm 32 f*ing weeks this is ridiculous!!

Will catch up properly tomorrow. Welcome and commiserations to newbies

Lemondrop99 · 01/10/2017 21:29

Oh no Oklahoma, that so rubbish Sad While I've had some rough patches in the third trimester, I've luckily been nowhere near having to be admitted. What a shame you had to go in, but I hope the drip has made you feel a bit better.

Mustang27 · 01/10/2017 21:56

I just read that some lovely member of the public “gingered” prince William I bet even Kate gets pissed at that.

Oh dear Oklahoma that’s just miserable take it easy, hopefully oklette is giving you lots of hugs.

Happy early birthday Natsku and happy early anniversary Shehz. Enjoy your lovely new cleaning gadgets respectively.

Sorry you are struggling again with your blood sugars Pippa you have had it bloody rough.

Dead that’s really sweet I honestly can’t stand my oh even remotely cuddling me in bed his Linda are so heavy and crowding lol.

I have my GD test tomorrow I’m hoping I can keep it down, wish me luck.

Oh and quick question is anyone suffering pregnancy paranoia?? I literally don’t feel safe in my home unless I know all the doors and windows are locked and at least one of the dogs are in the Hall. I keep thinking some one is trying to intrude. We did get an attempted break in last summer so it’s probably nerves from that resurfacing but it’s a bloody horrible feeling. I’m normally quite lax about this stuff, known to go out with back door wide open and stuff it’s a really weird feeling to get so nervous and anxious. I don’t know wether to speak to my midwife or not as I know anxiety/paranoia is a potential marker for pnd.

DeadDoorpost · 01/10/2017 22:12

Mustang I've been bugging DH about moving since 12 weeks because I hate it. It's getting worse the closer I get to the birth as well. Mind you, our neighbours are kinda dodgy so maybe I've got a reason to be worried. But again, like you, I have to have the doors locked and curtains shut. Even then I don't always feel safe. It's horrible.
As for DH he did move his arm soon after I'd posted that lol but he's been awake and feeling baby move again so he's been enjoying it I guess.

Braxton Hicks seem to be slowly ramping up. Also had to take another ondansetron tablet because I couldn't shake the sick feeling I had. I may have overdone it with the pancakes this morning. Oops.

DeadDoorpost · 01/10/2017 22:13

Oklahoma that sucks about having to be in hospital again. Totally understand your frustration. Fingera crossed for you ot doesnt happen again.

Natsku · 02/10/2017 05:44

Oh no Oklahoma hope that's the last time you go to the hospital until it's birthing time.

No paranoia here mustang sounds very unpleasant, good idea to talk to the midwife about it so they can keep a closer eye on you after birth to see if PND develops.

Shehz21 · 02/10/2017 07:46

Thanks for the wishes ladies.
And Happy Birthday again to Natsku!

Oklahama argh its dreadful to be back to the hosp at 32weeks :(
Hope you feel better soon and won't have to see the hosp again until your delivery.

No paranoia from my side as well. But having a hard time with vivid dreams. Makes me wake up with a jump, startled as if it all isn't just happening in my head.

Shehz21 · 02/10/2017 07:49

Goodluck Mustang for the GD test!

Natsku · 02/10/2017 08:41

Hear you on the vivid dreams Shezh last night I dreamt we ran out of heating oil and woke up panicked that we'd freeze this winter.

Found a really good deal on pram (60% off!) and changing table/bath so ordered them today, going to have to be tight with the food shopping rest of the month.

dillydollydarling · 02/10/2017 09:43

Spent all day yesterday in hospital for fluids. Took them 8 attempts to get a cannula in! :( this morning I'm feeling horrible again so have spoken to my doctor and he's deciding whether to try domperidone and/or intramuscular stemetil injections. Has anyone got experience of these?

I find the IV anti sickness meds work so much better than any tablets I can take. Wish I could have them IV at home!

Gentle hugs to all those suffering x

seizethecuttlefish · 02/10/2017 10:05

Dolly and Oklahoma, so sorry you are having to get fluids.
I'm back at the drs today to try and get better meds, so I can at least move without vomiting. Off work for the rest of the week. Hubby traveling for work, no idea how I'm coping as I can't really stand up. Been getting dressed since 8am Sad

Mustang27 · 02/10/2017 10:50

Struggling managed to keep that horrid liquid down so far but does anybody find the hungrier they are the more sick they feel sometimes.

Dolly that’s really awful.

Oh seize why bother just sit about in your pants if your comfy enough.

Natsku · 02/10/2017 10:56

Oh dear Dilly no experience of those but hopefully one of them will help.

No acid problem last night so I think the night before must have been because I ate too much, too close to bedtime (had two helpings of pudding!) so didn't call the midwife this morning but my sickness meds need renewing so if the health centre doesn't renew them for me (put in the request this morning but they might not renew them because no one seems to think pregnancy sickness can last this long...) then I'll need the OB appointment anyway.

Natsku · 02/10/2017 10:56

Hope the doc helps you seize

Mustang27 · 02/10/2017 11:04

Oh seize you have to go to the drs sorry. I hope you manage ok.

Williams2 · 02/10/2017 12:05
