I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is great: 024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.

So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Hi all, sorry you're feeling so rubbish for the most part Flowers

Getting married tomorrow!

I have been feeling fairly good for the last few days and Baby Blue seems to be behaving himself! Dare I say it, I'm actually excited for tomorrow?

Will put pictures up when I get them. I can't wait to feel fabulous Grin

user1471462428 · 04/08/2017 14:12

Blue I hope you have a lovely day tomorrow and the weather holds. In sickness and in health will never be more true than said now. HG puts a strain on even the strongest relationship so I think it's great you're doing it now.
Pregnant mushroom is your specialist supportive of your pregnancy? I guessing 4 hours of dialysis are not pleasant if you're sick. I'm a nurse and know how rare pregnancy with renal failure is!! Your little baby certainly is a miracle x

weasledee · 04/08/2017 14:14

Have a wonderful day Blue! BrewCake

Pregnantmushroom · 04/08/2017 14:29

Hi user,

Yes, my specialist is very supportive, the 4 hours is certainly gruelling, but I keep telling myself it will all be worth it when I hold my little one in my arms for the first time, I'm not allowed to go beyond 36 weeks, so at least I have a time limit to work to if that makes sense?

Baby is definitely my little miracle in the making, sadly, will be my last as I'm not sure my body could take the trial again, but otherwise doing well, extra growth scans and check ups, seem to be at the hospital constantly, but am still trying to muddle thru...

Blue, congrats on your wedding, my brother is getting married tomorrow, could you possibly be my future SIL? If so, I'll see you tomorrow at the wedding 😀

DeadDoorpost · 04/08/2017 14:31

blondes I'm 24+5

BlueIsYou · 04/08/2017 14:58

Pregnant My SIL is not pregnant, we don't think. How far along are you?

My BIL's wife is pregnant though, perhaps you're her? Grin although I know for certain she isn't sick!

satsoooma · 04/08/2017 15:03

bean naan and chutney sound like exactly the sort of thing I would have been eating a month or so ago. I couldn't deal with any of the foods or drinks that people here were suggesting. Over-processed carbs and sugar were fine tough. I liked jam doughnuts, potato waffles with sweet chilli sauce, pitta and naan bread. Never thought of trying mango chutney though - bet it would have been great :)

Pregnantmushroom · 04/08/2017 15:05

Blue, I'm 15 +6 days, to be fair we've not told anyone yet as didn't want to over shadow DB's big day 😀

My DH is an only child, so definitely not her :)

beanhunter · 04/08/2017 17:05

Mushroom depending where in the country you are your consultant may be my husband! I suspect he's much more understanding to his patients than his wife Wink

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/08/2017 17:31

@mushroom. I found sour sweets fab.

@blue. Have an amazing wedding day tomorrow

@weasel 💐 hope to see you back on this thread soon - tho Obv a preg without hg would be better

@bean. Mango chutney sounds healthy 😆😆

@mustang. Have you tried melon - cucumber - fruit lollies

My saviour was chicken Cuppa soup. I lived off that for weeks. Yet hated the smell of chicken and couldn't eat roast chicken

Pippanippa · 04/08/2017 19:06

"Weasle" so glad to hear you are doing ok. "Blue" I somehow totally forgot about the wedding, I hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow!!!

user1471462428 · 04/08/2017 20:46

Hi I've been really bad yesterday and today and have horrendous pins and needles in my hands and feet. Have a weird morbid feeling this evening no tears just blackness. Can't keep anything down and unbelievably tired and cold. BF at work but need moral support tonight

thingymaboob · 04/08/2017 21:25

@user1471462428
The darkness is so much worse when you're alone. HG is such an isolating and lonely condition. This forum is good for keeping you going!

Have you got any rehydration sachets or ice lollies? I have probably read this already but are you on meds? Are you keeping them down?

Daffodil397 · 04/08/2017 21:29

Hi user - poor you, these symptoms are grim. How long have you not been able to keep anything down? Are you dehydrated?

blueFlowersStarSmile congratulations on your wedding tomorrow! Wishing you a lovely day. Xx

justtheonethen · 04/08/2017 22:48

Sorry not read back as feel too grim.

Wanted to wish blue a happy wedding day Smile

I'm lying in bed crying as I just feel so dreadful and fed up. I feel awful, the new tablets worked for two days and since yesterday it's just been awful. I've now progressed to throwing up every time I stand up.
I'm so miserable I don't know what to do. There must be something that stops the constant nausea. I hate that more than the being sick. I don't know if I can do this Sad

blackcherries · 04/08/2017 23:09

Hi, I've been lurking but not posted as I don't have anything like as severe as what you guys have... but I have a question. I'm 14 weeks and had terrible nausea from about 6-10 weeks (previous pregnancy was nowhere near this bad).

That's subsided a bit over the last 4 weeks but I'm still throwing up some mornings. The vomiting doesn't seem particularly linked to the nausea but happens when I've had a bad cold and had a blocked nose, like it's causing a gag reflex? Has anyone else had this? Like coughing and trying to blow my nose makes me throw up :(

Lemondrop99 · 04/08/2017 23:24

God, I'm glad I'm not the only person who's been crying! Not that I'm happy that so many of you are miserable, it's just nice not be alone. I don't think it's HG upsetting me at the moment (cried a lot over that in the first trimester though!). I think I've just had a mega surge of pregnancy hormones, been sobbing uncontrollably today! Still have bad days of nausea and got caught with a stealth vomit yesterday where I only just managed to run to the loo on time.

Have a brilliant day tomorrow Blue

Glad to hear you're doing ok Weasle

Daffodil397 · 05/08/2017 04:28

I'm awake so might as well try and be useful.
User- forgot to say I get pins and needles lying on right side but not on left, might be the same for you?
Just and Black, so sorry you are suffering from nausea like this. Unfortunately it seems no medication can really affect this, the meds available just help stop the actual vomiting. I was told to rest more to help the nausea, most times it was so bad it stopped me sleeping though. Black I guess that if you are nauseous then anything like a cold or a cough your stomach takes as an invitation to vomit. I had that. It's just horrible and I feel for you.
I'm shattered but dd has been v unsettled last 3 nights and keeping me up. Starting to wonder if she knows something about the baby coming even though she has seemed not to understand when we have talked to her about it.
Was woken from a dream where I had the baby- no such luck Sad

Daffodil397 · 05/08/2017 04:33

Just- read back, saw you were discharged with metachlopromide, sounds like it is clearly not working well for you. Some people on here do ok with a mix of this and ondansetron, has that been offered to you? You need to be able to stand up without vomiting!

Natsku · 05/08/2017 08:08

Happy wedding day blue!

Natsku · 05/08/2017 08:09

I find that doxylamine does really help ease the nausea, doesn't get rid of it completely but eases it enough to be barely noticeable.

user1471462428 · 05/08/2017 09:25

Happy wedding day blue! It's such a beautiful day!
Just taking myself to urgent care as have ketones of 4. I'm a shrivelled prune! Can't keep anything down. They told me take all my medications and I look like a real pill popper, hadn't realised I've got so much

Pippanippa · 05/08/2017 09:52

user hope you feel better soon.

Well I am feeling sorry for myself today. Since I'd been feeling a lot better I decided to experiment and not take my meclizine for the last 2 nights. Had an awful nights sleep with nausea and vomiting and now laid up on the sofa feeling so queasy and weak.

Blue have a wonderful day today!

thingymaboob · 05/08/2017 09:58

@user1471462428 I'd go straight to emergency department, rather than urgent care...

Ameliablue · 05/08/2017 10:24

Good luck today Blue
