Thanks for your words of wisdow (as always) ladies. So nice to be back with you. xx

Chooster · 28/03/2007 16:17

Am so sorry for your friend Pinkbutterfly - no words of wisdom just wanted to say how sorry I am...

PinkButterfly · 28/03/2007 16:40

Thanks Chooster. x

fettleandminifettle · 28/03/2007 16:47

PinkB - how awful for your friend. I'm afraid I have no experience from your side, but I have been on the other side and it was hard as my best friend was pg - but I needed her support so I'm glad she didn't give up on me.

Take care of yourself and your friend.

fettle - sorry to hear your dd has a high temp. my ds did from thur to sunday and i couldn't get it down at all. but now he is back to his normal self, so hopefully it wont last for long for your dd either. i have heard others talking about that new programme on cbeebies but i haven't seen it yet! i must watch it so i have an opinion, i hate not knowing what people are talking about! i LOVE heroes though, if anyone has seen that!
i like your plan on exchanging email addresses fettleface! it would be a bit scarey otherwise!

chooster - i hope i haven't missed your pics, im off to have a look in a minute. you have reminded me to take mine off too! although i might be brave and put one of me up if i can find one! all my pics tend to be of my dc nowadays! just had a thought.............i might try and take a photo of a photo! what a plan!

hello pinkbutterfly. really sorry to hear about your friend, its horrible isn't it. you feel so guilty for being pregnant dont you. but you shouldn't, you really shouldn't. my friend lost a baby on sunday too and she was only 2 weeks behind me. not the same situation as you are in cos theres was a happy accident, but i feel terrible and i feel bad about seeing her cos i know i am a constant reminder to her of what she has lost. but i am sure she needs the support and would rather see me than me stay away (i hope!) and i am sure your friend will feel the same.

greedyforbabies · 28/03/2007 20:26

wahey! i have posted a (rather crap!) photo of myself! sorry about the view up my skirt, i was squatting down! my thighs aren't REALLY that big! actually, at the moment they probably are!

MrsMcEasterBunny · 28/03/2007 20:31

It's great to see you, isn't it funny when we know what we all look like! I think you are lovely looking!

greedyforbabies · 28/03/2007 20:34

yes it is strange isnt it?!
you just reminded me of something i had to say to chooster too!
chooster..........you said one day we would all have to brave and exchange real names.............have you forgotten that we all know yours!!!!!??? unless i am the only one with a good memory, hey RR!

fettleandminifettle · 28/03/2007 21:17

Greedy, yet another gorgeous person - i'm not sure I'll ever be brave enough to post a picture - I'll feel dumpy compared to the rest of you!

Greedy you around now?

don't worry, Chooster, I haven't a clue what your real name is!!!

DD a bit better this evening, but could have been the 10ml of Calpol she'd had 2 hours earlier - but definitely an improvement on yesterday - hopefully she'll be a bit better tomorrow, as I have some meetings at work, that I really ought to go to. But I've loved my 2 days cuddled up on the sofa - although Cbeebies is intensely dull if you watch it too closely!!!

Right, going to watch a bit of the apprentice now - grown up rubbish!

take care all

Greedy - you are so not what I expected! I am totally flumoxed! You look so well groomed! For a start I pictured you with curly hair. It's difficult to know how one forms an opinion of someone else based on their posts alone, but because your posts are always quite "madcap" (for want of a better word) that's how I pictured you! Anyway, you are totally gorge so there.

PinkB - really sorry to hear about your friend and your situation. I think most of us have been on one side or another of that particular scenario, and for either side it is hard. But I think MrsMcJnr puts it nicely when she said about "caring from a distance", at least until things are a little less fresh for your friend. I shall be taking that advice myself as am in a bit of a similar situation.

Fettle, glad to hear your DD is feeling better - but I know what you mean about enjoying the time curled up on the sofa together. I see you are a fellow apprentice fan. It's so silly, but I do love it. I was a massive Badger fan last time round - she woz robbed!

Talking of what we all look like, I saw a funny thread on Chat the other day. It was something like you had to Google (images) your Mumsnet name and then post a link to the most hilarious picture. I was too scared to join in with all the other big grown-up mumsnetters, but might put mine here in a min...

Bodkin · 28/03/2007 22:28

OK, how about this weirdo

Has it worked (not the world's best linker)

Bodkin · 28/03/2007 22:35

Cool! I'm going to find some freaks for you lot now....

Ok, running out of time. Will do more another day.

KitKat30 · 29/03/2007 09:00

Greedy that is so not what I expected you to look like! I had imagined you with shortish wavy hair... bizarre.

Bodkin - OK I googled my name and unsuprisingly I got 50,000 pictures of ... ... Kit Kats. Doh.

Deffo not posting any real life pics of me - I like the anonymity of MN...allows me to say things without worrying that someone who 'knows' me might find out!

How's everyone this morning?

honeyapple · 29/03/2007 09:05

Oohh! More pics to look at....

honeyapple · 29/03/2007 09:12

Wow Greedy! You are like SO glam! Lovely. There are few photos of me either these days... mostly of the kids. And those that are of me are generally deleted fairly swiftly. I don't take a good picture. Think I am much better in the flesh! I am looking pretty rough at the moment- very pasty, getting worried I am anaemic or summit.

PinkB- sorry to hear of your friend. That must have been awful for them. The blurb that the clinic where I am having my nuchal said that 3% of women will find that their baby has died when they have this scan. But it seems like I keep hearing of women this has happened to.

Is it possible to feel/see movements as early as 10 wks??? I swear if I lie still and stare at my tum- and hold my breath- I can see and feel movements. Perhaps it's just my guts!!

greedyforbabies · 29/03/2007 09:32

well groomed and glam!? not sure how i feel about those descriptions!!!! i knew i should have waited and found a nice wedding pic or something! oh well......it's done now!

i won't be well groomed this morning cos i have been farting around on here and i have about 10 mins to shower and get ready! better go!

how boring was my googled picture? i loved the other 3 though!

mornig all!

Pelvic floor??

greedyforbabies · 29/03/2007 10:31

you will almost certainly poo yourself anyway firststar! dont think a strong pelvic floor helps prevent that! it will just stop you weeing yourself after the birth every time you sneeze or cough!

i have to admit i haven't done them once so far, apart from of course when i just read your post and had a quick clench!

my friend is a midwife and she told me that almost everyone poos themselves when pushing the baby out even if they dont know they have done it. i didn't have a clue i had until i saw bits floating past me in the birthing pool!!!

honeyapple · 29/03/2007 10:40

I think that's one of the advantages of a home birth! I'm quite happy to poo myself at home!! I don't think I did when I had DS because I had the squits when in labour- so I think most had come out already. But I defo did with DD! The midwife wouldnt let me go to the loo- thought I'd give birth down the toilet...probably would have done- she zoomed out of me!

greedyforbabies · 29/03/2007 10:44

i quite like the sound of that honeyapple! a baby zooming out! did you tear or not?..................oh dear, is it all getting a bit too real now!?

greedyforbabies · 29/03/2007 11:51

yep! and keep mentioning them, cos whenever i read the words pelvic floor it makes me clench!

anyway.........i never did them first or second time round and so far i have never pissed myself when sneezing! don't worry too much firsty, you will have enough other stuff to worry about!

MrsMcEasterBunny · 29/03/2007 12:55

more quality chat on here I see! Have you ever googled your real name?! With my maiden name, I got me, a porn star and a pop singer! Have you guessed what it is yet? Ralph Harris style .

How about having a guess at names by initial? is that a step too far?
