Hey Greedy! - I won't remind you what you said to "cheer me up" when I was having a wobble then! anyway, you are lucky to have grandparents who are soooo wonderful. When I asked my mum to look after DD for an hour while I finished off some work the other week when she was visiting, she spent half an hour doing the washing up (we have a dishwasher ) so DD was hanging around looking rather bored. The next thing I knew it went all quiet, then DD appeared at the shed door saying "Grandma's having a powernap" My mum was fast asleep on the sofa !!! she was leaving in an hours time and could have had a kip in the car as she was being driven back by her friend!!! But, anyway, everyone else has said such kind and wise words about your DS, it's good that I was mean to you for a bit of balance!

Your DD has the same birthday as mine!!!! How did we not discover that back in Jan?

Happy Birthday Babymad - your DH sounds like a star doing all the decorating - bet your getting really excited now it's all starting to come together.

MrsMcJ - that nice fat line sounds good!

Chooster - poor you! Sounds ghastly - I did wonder why you had been so quiet. Don't worry, it's not just a boy thing - my DD would have been equally fascinated if I was chundering!!!

Hi Firsty, Kitkat and Fettle, and anyone else I haven't mentioned. Better get outside and enjoy the sunshine now, it might not last long!

Bodkin · 17/05/2007 14:05

I mean that I'd better get outside and enjoy the sunshine - that sounded like an order to you all!

Chooster · 17/05/2007 14:10

5 weeks to go at work for me Firststar!!! I'm pretty pleased its as early as it is as I'm getting pretty uncomfortable at my desk all day and am just behaving like a total moron most of the time .

Chooster · 17/05/2007 14:11

I was going to say Bodders that its not sunny here... do I still have to go outside?

fettleandminifettle · 17/05/2007 14:27

Not sunny here, either! Is it compulsory to go outside? It?s raining here! Where has the nice weather gone by the way ? Bodders, you?ve stolen it!!! I want to stop wearing tights to work, but I can?t until it warms up a bit [don?t worry, I have long skirts!!!]

Are we starting a new thread then?

Great news about Seaside... I hadnt visited the temp thread since MrsMcj's bfp...Must stick my nose in more often - cant wait to see who is next.

Babymad- Happy Birthday! Do you think you will have anymore babies? Or is this the last one? Can anyone really say that? I mean I don't think this is absolutley my last one... rather too sad to think that...

My DS is a January baby too. Get to wrap them up in lovely cuddly fleecy blankets .

BabyMadwithBump · 17/05/2007 16:04

NO more this is my last baby 3 is enough and 3 is all we wanted

greedygreedyguzzler · 17/05/2007 16:59

sorry bodders - was i mean to you before then??!! i told fettle the other day, i am only ever mean to people i like!!! if you notice, i have never ever been mean to chooster (and thats cos i dont like her much!) actually i am only mean to people who i think can take it.............and you can, can't you?

so your dd is 5th jan too! (she is 3 though, yes?) spooky! we didnt discover it in jan cos this thread didnt exist then and i was too busy shagging constantly to try and concieve!

who is going to start the new thread then?

greedygreedyguzzler · 17/05/2007 17:03

oh and i know what you mean honeyapple! - i would never say this is my last one! when people ask me (which they do almost straight away after finding out i am pg!.................."OOOOOOOOoooooooooooo do you think you'll have anymore!???"....................i am never sure what to say really!..............don't like to think of not ahving anymore.................but, i will prob change my mind once its here and my life is too hectic for words! then i will be marching dh off to be snipped straight away!

greedygreedyguzzler · 17/05/2007 17:15

oh and babymad.....out of interest.....why do you want 3 kids? i wanted 3 cos i am one of 3 and it always worked well for us, but there are lots of you aren't there? so what made you decide on 3?

greedygreedyguzzler · 17/05/2007 17:17

BUGGER - just burnt my colander! put it down on a hot hob! DUR!

honeyapple · 17/05/2007 17:30

I am one of three too Greedy- and so is my DP. My mum always says she wouldve liked another after me- but had complications which meant she was sterilised after I was born.

I dont think I would want DP to ever get the snip- even if he suggested it. I dont like to think about the future- but if something happened to me, (or we broke up )... then he might want to have kids with another women. Well, I dunno... but I am not looking at this PG and baby as my last one... but maybe it will be!

greedygreedyguzzler · 17/05/2007 17:31

are you a middle child honey?

honeyapple · 17/05/2007 17:37

No! The youngest! The most spoilt and most bolshy!

Bodkin · 17/05/2007 19:09

Are you lot not bathing in glorious sunshine this afternoon then? God it's lovely here! Sorry about that chaps!

Greedy

Hats off to you lot on No. 3 and planning more! I think I'll be all done after this one - then again, once the broodiness takes hold... but tbh I am quite looking forward to being 40 and having both kids in school and (hopefully) having enough cash to go on the odd nice holiday every few years

We are off out to the cinema tonight. DD is asleep already (excellent) but I did tell her we were going out and explained about having a babysitter. She seemed very cool about it, but quite curious, so hope she doensn't decide to come and introduce herself to our babysitter later on! Honeyapple / Firsty / Greedy, anyone else with older kids, what age did you tell yours about you and DH going out and there being a babysitter?

Bodkin · 17/05/2007 19:13

That sounded like we have never been out before!!! We have, of course, just that DD has always been fast asleep when babysitter arrived and remained that way for the duration of the evening

honeyapple · 17/05/2007 19:43

No sun here- still miserably wet where are you bodders?

Re- babysitters- TBH we tend to either take kids to my sisters- or get one of the grand parents over...

But when we have had a babysitter (usually 15 yr old daughter of a friend), the kids have been awake, so she has put them to bed.
(or rather let them stay up and watch loads of TV and eat crisps.... and then wait for them to pass out )

(actually we are sad bas**rds and hardly ever go out without kids anyway...)

DD wanted to go to sleep on her camp bed tonight- but she has just come to inform me that it has gone flat... have to go look for the hole...

BabyMadwithBump · 17/05/2007 19:47

Don't know just three seems

seaside72 · 17/05/2007 20:35

Hi everyone - newbie TTC/temping bud graduate here - can I join you all? (all the other pg and an threads scare me- feel like I have just moved up from junior to senior school )

Got my BFP (well 2 BFP's actually ) yesterday and did another today! - total waste but hey-ho - I am having a hard time believing it!

Am sure I will be needing lots of help and advice from you all (this is number1) - so the first of many questions for you wise ones: If you were temping when did you stop? MrsMc - I think you said you were going to stop soon? is it more or less stressful to continue? was thinking of weaning down to every other day or something!!

thanks

fettleandminifettle · 17/05/2007 20:45

Bodders - what's a cinema? Not sure I've seen one in over 3 years - do they still exist?!!

We've started recently telling DD that we are going out, as she notices when I'm putting on my makeup!! [she even helps me put it on now, bless her - not bad really, but I don't let her do mascara!!!]. Anyway, we normally have a friend, who's a mother of twin babies who DD loves, so she gets really excited about my friend coming to look after her. And generally is asleep when we go out, but if she isn't, she asks for my friend to go up and give her a cuddle and then she drops off very happily.

Beautifully hot and sunny here this evening. DH has been outside all day on exercise and has burnt his neck and face, so there must have some sunshine and heat somewhere - I work 30 miles away from here, so it obviously didn't stretch further East - I have a feeling you live in the West don't you Bodkin? Not sure why i have that feeling.

Had an emotional, pregnant woman moment earlier - sat and watched DD for about 20 mins after she'd fallen asleep this evening. She was such a sweetie this evening - DH has gone out tonight and we took him there, all dressed up in his finery (not sure she's ever seen him in his Mess Dress before!). She was all wrapped up in her dressing gown and slippers and drinking her milk in the back of the car and then happily went straight upstairs to bed when we got home and fell straight asleep - so I just sat in her room thinking how much I loved her, sobbing my heart out - pathetic I know!! Hopefully you pregnant women will understand my outburst and give me a big hug, as DH isn't here to do so - crying again as i write this - how pathetic am I?!

take care all
xxx

ps taken so long to write this that someone will have started a new thread by now!!

fettleandminifettle · 17/05/2007 20:48

Hi Seaside - crossed posts!

I temped until I was about 6 weeks on and off, as I was so scared I was going to have another mc. It just gave me the security of knowing that all was ok, but it does work the other way, such as when your temp drops slightly you get quite concerned. But then i just put on a slightly too small bra and the pain when i took it off that evening was so painful, but so reassuring!!

So pleased to have you here with us!

take care
