Mrsmcjnr I found you here! I just wanted to say a very big congratulations to you on being pg. Fantastic news. It's very bizarre, I haven't been on MN for a week or so and at the weekend I had a dream you were pg (obviously never met you or anything so VERY weird) and then found out you were.

Excellent news, I'm hoping it all goes well for you. and congratulations to everyone else.

ps. is it normal to dream you are on MN when pg??

greedygreedyguzzler · 15/05/2007 13:45

bodders where are you? come to think of it where is pinkb too?

bodders - you are self employed aren't you? will you be claiming MA? we can get 39 wks now!!! good hey? i didnt realise that, and do 10 'keeping in touch' days! all sounds quite good to me. think i might start my mat leave a lot earlier than i was going to now!!!
anyone else self employed?

MrsMcJnr · 15/05/2007 15:09

Thanks Firsty thought it might be hit or miss on seeing a HB. Don?t get a nuchal here anyway so I?ll be booking a private one of those later on anyway (fingers crossed I don?t have to cancel it this time).

BBbaby thank you! That is funny about your dream! how are you getting on?

Greedy ? hello!

Babymad ? thanks for email, I will respond

mrs - i am so glad you are back on this thread properly!

fettle says (and she is a smart cookie dont forget!) that to work out your edd you add 9 months onto the date of your temp rise and then take off a week. so i reckon from looking at your chart your edd should be 19th jan! is that right? which would make you.............hang on...........be right back!...............

greedygreedyguzzler · 15/05/2007 16:06

4+5 today! is that right? hang on just off to check again....................i'm bored can you tell!............

greedygreedyguzzler · 15/05/2007 16:10

cant work it out properly, my brain hurts! wait for fettle she's the expert! nice to have you back anyway! i am sure we will have another ttcer on here very soon too! seaside has to be pg doesn't she?!!!

fettleandminifettle · 15/05/2007 17:05

Have to be really quick as at work ? but really wanted to tell someone and I?ve been sworn to secrecy by DH, so thought I?d potentially tell all readers of the WWW, well in particular you girls!!

?.

We?re having a boy!! A boy with 2 arms, 2 legs, 4 chambers in the heart, working kidneys & stomach, good sized head & brain, good looking spine, posterior placenta, with good blood flow through the umbilical cord. So all looking good. Sonographer was really nice, and happy for DD to sit and watch too on DH?s lap, but a bit grumpy that consultant had moved my due date from my 12 week scan, so he firmly said it should stay as 23rd Sept, which makes me 21+2, although head measurement makes me 20+5 and I think I?m 20+4. Think I?ll open a book on when this baby will actually be born, but I?d make a guess for September!!! Anyone actually know of someone who?s given birth on their actual due date anyway?

Glad we found out sex in end ? DD still thinks it?s a girl even though we?ve told her it?s a boy!! Even pointing out the very clear willy to her, didn?t seem to have any effect on her conviction it is a girl!! But we have a while to convince her. DH is just proud of his son already, IYKWIM. I?m a bit shell-shocked as although I was convinced it was a boy, I love having a girl and I?m not sure what to do with boys. But I?m sure Greedy and others will tell me that they are easy too?....... Please!!!

Have to go, time to go home now!! Back later to catch up with you all, just wanted to let you know my news!

xxx

greedygreedyguzzler · 15/05/2007 17:17

fettle i am soooooooooooooooooooooo pleased for you!!! i didn't realise you were finding out the sex! thats wonderful news! little boys are fab and cuddly and loving and OOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooo i just want to go home and squidge mine right NOW!!! i will have to make do with squidging my next patient instead!!!
i am so happy for you fettle i really am! you have to post on the oct thread too cos there has been one boy and one girl on there today and everyone is so much happier!

MrsMcJnr · 15/05/2007 17:19

Greedy didn?t get temp rise until CD19 28/4 but def OVd on CD17 so maybe I was off colour on CD18 when I should have got the rise?! TCOF software says 17/1 whilst traditional method says 15/1. I think I probably am about 4+5. I agree about Seaside ? she?s got to be!!

Fettleandblueminifettle! how incredibly exciting hon! I?ve got goose bumps, god, it makes it soooo real! My friend gave birth on her due date on Sat I?m sure you would have been delighted with a healthy baby of either sex but it will be lovely to have one of each! At least that is! congratulations!!!

BabyMadwithBump · 15/05/2007 17:49

fettle how lovely a little boy so happy for you!

Been to the MW tuck some blood to check iron and so on, couldn't get a HB due to baby moving and kicking far to much had the MW and her firend laughing bless and baby also had hiccups, been feeling very breathless just lately that's down to low iron too, the CM plug that keeps coming away every 4 weeks is down to my monthly cycle learn something new every day, MW is really happy with my weight "it's all baby", and nose bleeds are normal even mine, off to do tea chat later!

greedygreedyguzzler · 15/05/2007 17:59

go with 15th jan mrs! i am now going with 30th sept even though i really believe it is more like 5th oct! makes it seem closer doesn't it!!!???

fettleandminifettle · 15/05/2007 18:48

Hi all

MrsMc - I've taught Greedy well!! Work out due date from temp rise + 9 months, then take off a week. However, that puts me at 2nd Oct! But my scans have moved me to 30th Sept then to 23rd Sept, back to 29th Sept and back to 23rd Sept (which I really can't believe, as that will mean we did the deed the day after the mc stopped and I know we didn't!!!). Either way, I'm so relieved it is healthy - sorry I'm allowed to say "he" now aren't!!

Anyway, Mrs glad yesterday went well-ish - sorry you didnt' see the consultant. I have to say that my consultant appointment for obstetric cholestasis earlier this pg was pretty un=interesting. They told me nothing I didn't already know, didn't ask any questions and didn't give me an opportunity to ask anything either - bit of a waste of everyone's time. At least you know they are taking you seriously and they will start treatment as soon as possible. I'm sure everything will be fine. January babies are definitely the best - I'm one!!!!

Glad you slept better Firsty - you really need all the sleep you can get in the last few weeks. Sorry to hear you are in pain though - my SPD is definitely coming back. I've got that distinctive pain right at the base of a pelvis between my legs, just where it needs to stretch the most during birth I suppose! Also in pain in my hip bones when sitting. Going to get DH to blow up my exercise ball tonight, so I sit on that in the evenings to keep my back straight and it helps position baby right in later pg, so might as well get used to it again!

Glad all well with you too Babymad. DD had lots of hiccups when I was pg, I found it really funny!

Greedy, i'll post on the Oct thread later this evening to say hello - although technically this baby is coming in September now! I refuse to go to 42 weeks, if DD was 7lbs4.5oz at 36 weeks!!! imagine how big if I'd gone another 6 weeks!! [ouch]. Forgotten that it stung BTW - thanks for reminding me! The actual contractions aren't too bad really are they, once you get into them! And the stinging is only for a few moments, I seem to remember!

anyway, love to all those I've missed - hope you are well.

xxx

Bodkin · 15/05/2007 20:13

Evening all! lots of interesting stuff on here today! Fettle - a boy! That's fab! I am also totally convinced we are having a blue one next, but will have to wait another (gulp) 8 and a half weeks to find out!!!! If I do, we will have exactly the same age gap between our DCs (I think), i.e. DD will be 3 and a half when No. 2 arrives. But do correct me if I've got that wrong. Sorry to hear the old SPD is coming back. I'd never heard of it before Mumsnet, but it must make being pregnant incredibly hard work.

Mrs - glad the appointment was ok and that the ball is now well and truly rolling for you. How are you feeling so far - any symptoms? Have you tested again, how is that line looking now - any fatter?

Greedy - it's great about the MA isn't it! Makes me very chuffed that I didn't get pg as soon as we started trying else I wouldn't have qualified! Clever little baby! The only thing I am not sure about is what happens if I want to start working before the 39 weeks is up (clients are asking already when I am coming back!) - presumably if I take any work on then I have to stop my MA, but then, as it is based on my NI contributions, surely I am entitled to the full 39 weeks regardless? Are you planning to be off work for the full 39 weeks?

Babymad - it must be hard work explaining everything to your DS's - sounds like you are doing a grand job though. My DD felt the baby moving properly for the first time tonight - baby had hiccups, so i knew that she would definitely feel something. Her face was an absolute picture! Made me a bit teary!

Its funny what you were saying about your October thread Greedy - I haven't posted on the July thread for yonks - just couldn't get a word in, and sooooo many people, impossible to keep up with everyone. The only person I keep meaning to check up on is Kyte (remember her from TTC?) as we got our BFP at the same time and she is lovely. Chooster and Firsty - do you still post on there? What's the goss?

fettleandminifettle · 15/05/2007 20:55

Hi Bodkin - yes, DD will be 3.5 on 1st Oct, so there will be the same age gap. How is your DD coping with everything? Great she felt your baby move - I can't wait until DD can feel this little one move. She was quite interested in the scan, but not overly excited as she was at my scan at 7 weeks. She told everyone at nursery about my scan today, including the fact that the baby is a boy!! So much for keeping it a secret [and DH has told everyone at work, so only I, who didn't want to keep it a secret in the first place managed!!]. At least I know DD now knows she's having a little brother. Her room leader at nursery said that she seems really unphased by the whole thing and quite happy about having a baby brother, which is good to hear. Just hope the new house and nursery in the weeks before the birth don't push her over the edge!

It is great getting 39 weeks paid isn't it? I haven't decided yet on even when I'm going on maternity leave yet. My manager told me today that she only took 4 months mat leave and then 2 months holiday, so only 6 in total. I kind of feel, if I'm going back, that i ought to go back at around 6 months, as I'll have only been in my new role a few months before I go on maternity leave, but I want to spend at least 9 months with my new baby. The added complication is that we are thinking of putting DD into a nursery in a school, which will break up for summer just as I go back tow ork, so it would be best for us a family if I take the full year i'm entitled to. So hard, balancing family life with having a career - I've been so lucky so far to work for the same company for over 6 years, despite moving so often due to DH's job - they have been so accommodating.

Anyway, didn't mean to go off on one - think I just want to get it off my chest and I can't see all your eyes glazing over while I chatter on!!

take care.
xxx

greedygreedyguzzler · 15/05/2007 21:53

you're right fettle my eyes did start to glaze over!!!

bodders - you are allowed 10 keeping in touch days with the MA. did you know about them? means you can work for 10 days during your mat leave and not lose any MA. its good for me cos i will prob just work 2 days a week for the last 5 weeks of MA so i wont have the full 9 months off.

greedygreedyguzzler · 15/05/2007 21:57

fettle - "the actual contractions aren't too bad though are they?"................are you sure???!!! i think 3+ years has blurred your memory!!! i seem to remember they are agony! i was just trying to make firsty feel better by lying to her completely!!!

bodders - i remember kyte vaguely, she is a vicar isnt she? she gives you lots of work doesnt she!!?

fettleandminifettle · 15/05/2007 22:03

Greedy - you're mean to me!!! You ignore me, admit that I bore you and say you don't want other people knowing that you know me!!!

I didn't think the contractions were that bad - but then I did go for the morphine option and I was being induced, so I was having 90 sec contractions every 30 secs, as they had the drip up too high!! So maybe I was just numbed!! I am scared that it won't be quite so easy with this next one!

greedygreedyguzzler · 15/05/2007 22:12

i am only mean to people i like fettle!! i am the same in rl too! cant cope if anyone is mean to me in rl though!

i had lots of contractions with ds cos i was in labour for about 36 hours and i only used gas and air for about the last 2 hours so i guess they stick in my mind quite clearly! and then doing it all again 17 months later made sure i really cant forget!!! not a lot

Gosh it has all been going on here!

Fettle- Congratulations on your little boy! Boys are great! Very cuddly and lovely... and if you are lucky you will get one that is still cuddly and lovely for many years to come. My DS (8yrs) loves having a cuddle! In fact, sometimes I have to drag him off me...
(Yesterday he was playing at his cousins house... and they were having a fashion show... he was wearing her pink glittery bikini ...)

Right, got to take DD to playgroup now...

Have to have a look at the Oct thread later to see who is having what... glad to hear they are less miserable!

greedygreedyguzzler · 16/05/2007 11:55

quiet on her today isnt it?
i haven't stopped crying all morning and i need to vent somewhere................dh would only laugh at me and tell me not to be silly!.........so.........................my mum always comes to look after my kids on a tue when i am at work and they always have great fun together. well, this morning my ds said " i wish nanny could come over everyday" and then as if that wasn't enough to make me feel inadequate he said " and i wish she was our mummy ".
thing is, hes too young to be deliberatley nasty and i know he wasn't saying it to be mean to me, he was just saying what he felt which makes me feel even worse. she has so much energy and plays with them ALL the time when she is here and i feel like such a crap mum now. anyway.........moan over.........set me off crying again typing it all down!

maybe coming on here all the time doesn't help hey?
