Here you are Greedy Now put that bottom lip away and get a grip! Repeat after me, "Hormones, hormones, hormones" You sound like I did 10 weeks ago - just feeling totally inadequate and tearful all the time - I couldn't even look at a picture of a baby without thinking, god what am I inflicting on this poor child to be? Thank god it turns out it is just hormones, and actually, we're all great mums

I can't get my head around this 10 working days thing - because I don't charge a daily rate, I charge by the job, so how would that work out? Think I'd better do some research on this...

Fettle - that's great that your DD seems to have come round the idea of a boy so quickly! You've got a lot on your plate with house moving and new schools etc. haven't you?

DD is calling me to wipe her arse. Better go!

KitKat30 · 16/05/2007 13:07

Ahhh Greedy honey - . It's the hormones making you more sensitive. Remember that the world is kind of black and white for kids - and the relationship they have with grandparents is astonishing in the way that it bypasses the parents completely. Have seen this with my sister's kids...

Doesn't mean they love and adore you any less though... it just means that granny probably nags them less than you do, because she doesnt have to! And given the choice between someone who's telling them to brush their teeth or someone who can play with them 24/7 ... ? Playing and having fun with kids is the easy bit, it's everything else that you day to day that makes you a great mum. And I know you're a great mum.

I'm rambling, but in a nutshell... I bet you a squillion £s that if your DS was poorly or sad or in need of a cuddle or wanted a chat about something, you're the only one he would want. You're his mum, he loves you best. It's an official fact.

yes happy emotional kind of tears! you were being nice!!! too nice i think! i dont cope well with people being too nice to me!!!

any of you who know her - seaside just got her bfp! that cheered me up anyway!

fell out of my back door earlier down 4 steps onto our decking! have mildly sprained my ankle! a bit of swelling and bruising and quite a bit of pain, but not too bad! i think it is the shift in my centre of gravity confusing me! i fell over 2 days ago as well but that was up some steps!!! oh.......and just been to the loo and had MORE blood in my knickers (not had any for about a week now, so was hoping it had stopped but obviously not!) anyway................not having a great day all in all, but it can only get better!!! I HOPE!!!

Ahhhh! Greedy! Kids say just the right things sometimes don't they... Agree completely with the very lovely kitkat (are you a four finger or a chunky BTW?)

Have had a ridiculously lazy day today... just suddenly feeling knackered again . Watched TV mostly... and peered out the window at the rain feeling gloomy and uninspired to do anything else. DP was working at home... couldnt help but feel in his way... and like he thought I was being a lazy slob. Did make supper tonight though... only for him to tell me he was going out to see a client and wouldnt be back until 10pm. Well- plenty of time now to post on MN... have tried a couple of times to do a sneaky post... but he keeps catching me!

fettleandminifettle · 16/05/2007 19:55

Greedy - so sorry you are feeling down. You know that your DC love you. They sound so sweet and loving. As Kitkat said (definitely a richly covered, chunky kitkat, although I'm sure really as skinny as 2 finger!), of course grandparents are more exciting. They have time and focus to spend all the time doing interesting things. My DD loves my mum coming - they do all sorts of exciting things that I would never even think about!

Just to make you feel a bit better, my DD nearly everyday says shes loves Daddy and doesn't love me and wants him to do everything for her - which doesn't bother me at bathtime, bedtime or especially in the middle of the night!!! But if she is sad, upset or very tired, it is me she wants! Not sure why she likes DH so much ,he is much stricter with her than I am, but I suppose he's been away so much in her life that she is scared he'll be leaving all the time.

I'm more worried about your bleeding. I actually think about you everyday and keep thinking I must ask how the bleeding is, but then forget when I'm on here. What has the MW said about it all? Is it normal(ish)? When is your scan? Must be coming up soon.

Hope you feel better tomorrow - I'd treat yourself to a small glass of something and some chocolate!

Hello everyone else - I'm afraid that was a greedy-focussed post!.

thanks for all the support about little boys by the way, Greedy and Honey. Bearing in mind the fact that DD is a daddy's girl, I live in hope that this little one will be a mummy's boy!!

xxx

greedygreedyguzzler · 16/05/2007 20:06

i take it all back what i said about little boys anyway fettle! they are mean and nasty and say horrid things to their mummies when they are feeling vunerable!.............. or was that just my ds this morning?

have you got your head round having a boy yet then? their nappies are so much nicer to change by the way! no creases and folds for poo to get encrusted in!

i was a bit of a wreck earlier wasn't i? my ds is just usually so loving and its ALWAYS me he wants cos he is a real mummy's boy so i guess im not used to feeling unwanted (not by him anyway!)

when i fell down the steps he said "are you ok mummy?" and then 2 seconds later " come on, quick we are going to be late for school!" i was still sprawled on the floor at this point! i really thought i had badly sprained my ankle at first! i had visions of being on crutches and all sorts, but after a few ice packs this afternoon it seems a bit better. unfortunately i can walk on it, so no sympathy from dh for me!

i'm not too worried about the bleeding fettle, its been going on for so long now its kind of the norm! but i do hope that when i get a few days without that it might have stopped. midwife seems to think it might be cos i have cervical erosion and said i should get it cauterised after the birth (what a horrible thought!) so hopefully she is right.

fettleandminifettle · 16/05/2007 20:43

ouch - give me contractions and childbirth anyday, but cauterising cervices sounds painful!!!

Glad you sounding happier - can't really remember having a problem with nappies and DD - i'm worried about the fountain effect of DS's!! Although we got pretty wet on occasion from DD if I remember rightly!

KitKat30 · 17/05/2007 08:26

Glad you're sounding happier Greedy... what would we do without our lovely MN girls!

Fettle and Honey - sadly, I most definitely am a chunky kitkat!! Sigh. One day I'll be a skinny Kate Moss type...

How's everyone this morning? It's very very wet and miserable in London today - feels like bloody October! Other than that though, I'm feeling OK, pretty fit and healthy for once .

I think we've chosen a doula - a really lovely lady who's been doula-ing for a couple of years now. She was incredibly reassuring and very supportive, so I'm feeling less panicky about the birth (for now!).

I think we might also be (finally) moving house... I say this tentatively because every sale we've managed to have so far has fallen through. So keep everything crossed for me this time!! And keep everything double crossed so that it happens before I give birth...

Hope you're all OK this morning?

glad you are feeling fit and healthy twix. exciting about moving house! lets hope it happens sooner rather than later! where are you moving to?

looking at that list of dates, some of you are getting soooooooooooooooooo close now! how exciting!!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 17/05/2007 10:12

oh and isn't choosterchops having another boy too? i forgot to add that!

Chooster · 17/05/2007 10:27

Yes another boy for me!!! Great to hear you are having a boy as well Fettle - they are fab (am sure girls are equally fab but got no experience . My DS is a real mummies boy and is always giving kisses and cuddled. Very cute

Sorry you've been a bit emotional Greedy - sounds like you've got some good advise from the ladies on here. Kids can say things that really get you can't they? Your DS sounds like a real sweetheart by the way.

Can't remember everyone else's news but agree - where is pinkB? Her c-section date is very soon! Eeeek.... Which means we are then next Firsty and Bodders. Bloody hell . I was induced as well Fettle and have to say my contractions were really sore!!! I must try some of that morphine next time.

Anyway nothing exciting from me except have had a stomach bug since monday. You can tell I was genuinely ill as I couldn't even MN . Glad its passed now but it left me feeling totally drained.... My DS was an angel and got himself in to bed on Monday night after I'd fallen asleep in his bed. He'd then come running to the bathroom every time I was sick to see if i was OK. "Mummy are you being sick?", "Mummy, can I see the sick?" Urrrghhhh... Boys eh?

Hi ladies, how are we today?

It's my birthday today 26! I've had a headache for the last 2 days I think it's down to tiredness, as I've been keeping DH company as he's been up till late doing the nursery, we are hoping to have it done within the next 2 weeks as the house is coming over run with sooo much baby (And that's not even the stuff from the attics) stuff and if we get the room done it will have somewhere to go IYSWIM! Off to take some pain killers and have a nap before I have to go out later!
Chat l8er!

BabyMadwithBump · 17/05/2007 12:08

firststar yes and here's me thinking one of the benefits of being PG was no monthly cycle oh well! Is it a MW app tomoorow!?

MrsMcJnr · 17/05/2007 12:49

Good to hear everything seems to be on track Babymad Happy birthday hope the headache goes away.

Ok Greedy 15/1 then! Sorry to hear about your tears it?s the hormones hon and he didn?t really mean it ? it?s a Granny?s prerogative to be fun because they can go home when they get tired, sending hugs to you. Hope you are feeling much better now it is lovely news about Seaside and I think it has given all the other Tempys a boost too! Sorry about the fall, hope you are ok (I?m still bruised from mine and about the bloody bleeding! Thanks for adding me to the list

Fettleandbluemini - thanks for your views on Jan babies ? I should have been one but was early! in fact both my mother and my sister had their 1st babies a month early has it sunk in yet that you are having a son? sorry that the SPD is bothering you. Sounds like there?s lots to think about for you on the Mat Leave front!

Bodkin ? BFP this morning so much stronger than last week?s line! Lots of symptoms but no sickness, kind of want to be sick as a dog if you know what I mean! That?s lovely that DD felt the kicks!

Hey Kitkat fingers crossed for the house. You forgot me from your list

Honeyapple I hope you took a pic of your DS in that bikini ? would be great bribery material in teenage years!

Thank you nomoremagnolia that was sweet of you, how are you getting on?

Hey Chooster ? hope you are feeling much better!

Hello Firsty

Chooster · 17/05/2007 12:55
