Hi ladies - I am back from our travels. It was all very mad work wise leading up to going away so I never got a chance to tell you what our final plans were.

Bodders, We tried to get 'Hamish' the camper van but it didn't work out, but definately for our next holiday that will be what we do. It was such a good idea of yours! The vans have DVD players, sat nav etc - all the mod cons . Very exicted by it all.

Anyway, as it was we went to see some pals in Hertford in the end, and it was fantastic. DS was a little star the whole time and slept well on the journeys (we drove after 6pm so he'd sleep for most of it). We stayed with a couple of friends, one who are due baby number 1 in 4 weeks and another who have a 14 wk old girl. It was really lovely... Got back to Edinburgh at 1am this morning and back to work today so I'm knackered!!!! Am reading about your plans for short weeks Firsty and its making me think! It sounds lovely

So do we really have 2 bank hols coming up? Hope so!!!

Fettle - as you'll know we found out the sex. Genreally it was because we could concinvce DS that he wanted whatever sex the baby was (we always talk about 'brothers' now and how good it would be for him to have a brother), but also because I was really curious. I always imagined that we'd have a daughter and although I am in no way disappointed that we are having another boy, the extra time knowing has helped me get my head round it and now I'm really excited to be having another wee boy. I guess its all personal preference really and I can see both sides of the argument as when DS was born it was a nice surprise.

Oooh, Greedy, there is really no need to have the debate about finding out the sex - we all know its a little girl in there! I really like the names you mentioned... Well, I think we are getting closer to deciding on a name. We've been round the houses with 'Zack', 'James' etc, but I think we are settling on Theo or Caden (this LO's middle name will definately be Henry). I wanted something a little different but hopefully not too wacky. There are some bizarre names on that web-site you posted Babymad!!

So, what do you guys think of Theo? I think thats our first choice, and it will give the LO lots of choice for changing it (ie. his actually name would be Theodore so he could be Teddy if he wanted?)

All thoughts welcome - except "Oh my God you pair of freaks thats an CRAP name to inflict on a poor child" But, honestly feel free to say if you think its rubbish!

I can't remember who said they had leaky boobs, but I think mine are becoming operational too. The other day DH was having a little play with them and he said "urrgh, there's something sweet tasting coming out of them" - I think that will be the last time I see any nipple action for a while

Oh, before I go congratulations on your scan Kitkat - Am so pleased its all gone well!!

BabyMadwithBump · 24/04/2007 12:27

Love theo, I like corey too, and a few other names but DH doesn't like them but still we've agreed on our names now, thank god, soz not going to share due to lots of poeple knowing me in RL on here, let's not go there. Also found out last week and over the weekend 4 people I know are MNers too, dont know weather thats a good thing or not!

leaky boobs is me LOL, but I believes it's stoped fingers crossed!

Blood test is back, well sort of they are sending me for another iron blood test and some others but given me some iron tabs to take anyway, really dont get that

Anyone else really really want to find out the sex but other half doesn't? I can list a number of reason why I NEED to know but DH doesn't want to know!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 24/04/2007 12:36

chooster - glad you had a nice time away. and glad to hear about your nipple action! someone i used to work with really got off on his wife being pg and suckling on her nips! is that a bit odd? i thought so. i love the name caden...i like theo too, but caden is cool!

babymad - i really want to know the sex of our baby, but dh doesn't. its really unfair when one of you does and one of you doesn't cos it kind of means the one who doesn't want to know gets what they want! there is no way i could find out and then not tell dh, so i guess he will get his own way!

Chooster · 24/04/2007 12:47

Yeh, that is a bit odd Greedy - Did he like being put in a nappy as well I remember watching a programme about grown men who pay to go to some kind of 'nanny' type woman who puts them in nappies, gives them a bottle and tells them off if they are naughty what the f*ck is that about!! Funnily enough it was my ex-boyfriend who used to watch all these programmes really - turns out after we split he moved in with an S&M Dominatrix.

Anyway thats a WHOLE other story, DH is much more normal and really didn't get off on the leaky boob.

I thought Caden was cool too!! Really like it. Babymad, Can understand you not wanting to share when you know so many MNers. I dont think I know any apart from MrsMc.

BabyMadwithBump · 24/04/2007 12:55

I know a fair few MNers, been a MNer for over 4 years so you get about abit LOL, but now RL (real life) poeple I know are MNers too, so I tend not to say to much now!

Chooster - glad to hear you had a nice break, sorry "hamish" didn't work out, but like you said, another time! I like your names, never heard of Caden - what is the origin/meaning of that? is it biblical? Anyway, it's really nice and very unusual.

Can't seem to get the link to work to the site Babymad suggested, but anyway, have given up on names for the time being (although I like Greedy's suggestion of putting an ongoing list on the fridge) and am now completely obsessed with sorting out our kitchen, even though I really have not got time to be sorting this out at the mo! Have spotted some really nice pine belfast sink units on Ebay that I feel like blowing all my hard earned cash on!

Just found out that one of my friends who miscarried earlier this year is pregnant again! Fab news

Chooster · 24/04/2007 14:27

Yeeeahhh for your friend Bodkin!!! Fab news

Caden is a gaelic name and the meaning is 'warrior' or something battle related. Not a very peaceful name but we liked it. Speaking of meanings did you know that Ceasar means 'hariy child' - i wasn't thinking of it but that would be enough to put you off eh?

Chooster · 24/04/2007 14:44

Ooops that should be 'hairy'

i love the name coralie firsty, but you can have it! dh went to school with one who was an old slapper so he has said "NO WAY!" (isn't that always the way when you find a name you like!) i also like Suki, but my friend said its a cats name! so thats out!
i am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO unbelievably sad that i am going back to that site to see if i can figure out what pinkbs choice of name is! (i have a break between patients and cant think of a better way to spend it!)

bodders - i put my list of names up yesterday afternoon and dh took 2 down straight away when he got home and then put one of his choices up...........Harold! (has he forgotten all about madge and harold in neighbours!!!???......i took it straight down again!)

greedygreedyguzzler · 24/04/2007 15:45

FOUND IT! i think its a lovely name pinkb! the only place i have ever heard it before is on desperate housewives!

anyone watch 'heroes' by the way? guess i should start another thread on that one! not really baby related!

greedygreedyguzzler · 24/04/2007 15:49

why would anyone want to call their son B-Jay? Honestly! was it just me that used to use that term for a blow job then? i thought it was a nationwide thing!

PinkButterfly · 24/04/2007 16:05

Hello all.

Honeyapple ? no my chosen boy?s name isn?t Aron. Don't mind sharing it as it's unlikely (fingers crossed) that we will be using it - it is Fynn Alexander.

Fettle ? How is dd feeling today - any better?

Chooster ? glad to hear you had a good break away. Love both names but think my preference would be Caden ? unusual and it goes lovely with Henry.

Babymad ? Corey was on our shortlist for a boys name but our close friends had it on their shortlist too so we took it off ours. Sorry to hear you still have no conclusive results on your blood tests but good news about your new doctors surgery.

Lovely news about your friend Bodkin. I hope everything goes well for her this time.

Greedy ? my best friend?s mog is called Suki!! pmsl that you are spending your free time between appointments to try and suss my lo?s name ? any ideas yet ???? at Harold ? Harry is a nice name but became v popular after Mr Potter.

PinkButterfly · 24/04/2007 16:09

Oh greedy you have found it but have also confirmed my worst fear that people will automatically associate it with the girl in DH. She spells it without the "h". We had already chosen it before she was a character and I did stop and think about not using it after all but love it so much ....??

BabyMadwithBump · 24/04/2007 16:09

All done and dusted I've now got a new doctors only tuck 20mins as well, and now we are all at the same dostors (DH was at diff) and 4 min walk tops, DS's are over joyed too no more having to go all the way across town for a Doctors app!

PinkButterfly · 24/04/2007 16:18

Just noticed your post Greedy about the name B-Jay. DS2's initials are B J and his name being abbreviated to that later in life has crossed my mind. Do remember my elder brother having a friend who's name was abbreviated to BJ but he didn't get ridiculed for it as far as I know but that was many years ago when children weren't as cruel and didn't use as much innuendo as they do now!! Can't imagine anyone wanting to name their child B-Jay (poor thing) - how many were there ?

Ahh, I dont watch Desp Housewives so I'll need another clue?

greedygreedyguzzler · 24/04/2007 16:30

htere was only one B-Jay pinkB. our surname begins with J too, and both of my dc have middle names beginning with B, i have an EBJ and a KBJ! i think me and my group of friends just found the whole 'BJ' thing especially funny at school...........i was VERY immature! (still am really!). i dont think people really say it anymore! its far too tame!
your girls name is lovely, i really like it. dont let the DH thing put you off! there is always a reason not to have ANY name but you have to choose one! and you dont have too long left to decide!

greedygreedyguzzler · 24/04/2007 16:31

do you have a henry at the moment then choosterchops?

PinkButterfly · 24/04/2007 16:36

Greedy - Just don't want everyone saying "what's her name ? Oh, yeah after the wee girl in DH" but as you say I suppose the majority of names have an association with someone on the telly don't they!

I may have read the post wrong but I sure Chooster said she had chosen Henry as a middle name for lo and I though Caden Henry was lovely.

B J are actually the initials of ds2's first and middle names - he is BJM.

greedygreedyguzzler · 24/04/2007 16:38

Benjamin James! thats lovely!!!!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 24/04/2007 16:39

or is it Benjamin Jack?
or Brucie John????!!! (hope not!!!)

PinkButterfly · 24/04/2007 16:40

He is Benjamin John actually - how do you know that Greedy ? Did I give away his name in another post ? Can't remember.
