get your dp to buy it for you, or get it at tescos and hide it under packets of pasta and tea bags! i feel sorry for you, cos they hurt dont they. eat tonnes of fruit and apricots too so your poos are nice and soft coming out and not mean and hard to your poor botty!.......................................ok....................sorry.................that definately sounds like the sort of thing i would say to my ds!

Bodkin · 21/04/2007 18:57

Cheers hun. i've been on the apricots and bran-flakes for a couple of months now, so am really annoyed that this has happened! Think the baby is just sitting very low down and putting a lot of pressure on. Good plan on the shopping trip... Hope everyone's having a good weekend!

Not quite sure what happened, but i just typed a long message and it suddenly disappeared from my screen? Weird?!!

Anyway, hope everyone had a lovely weekend. the weather was much better than promised. We had friends down and had a really great time, so I've got real Sundayitis now! Poor DH has an exam in the morning, so he's been revising all afternoon, so I think he is feeling it even more so that me!

I hope the secret cream buying went successfully and stealthily!!

Must go and persuade DD that a bath is necessary as she has been running around outside in no shoes most of the day and her feet are filthy!

I know this is being addressed on other threads, but I thought I'd ask you lovely ladies what you think? Have you/will you find out the sex of your baby if possible? If so and if not, why? We didn't with DD, as we wanted a surprise, but this time around, I don't know whether to find out, particularly as it means we can start preparing DD in terms of baby sister or baby brother - what do you all think?

take care

ps well done Firstar on arranging some time off - enjoy it!!!

I must think about my plans for maternity leave, but keep putting it off - want my promotion confirmed first, but that won't be until mid-May at the earliest.

Hi how is every one today?
Has anybody had/having leaking boobs? Didn't get this with 2 DSs but first for everything, but still feel at 25+3 it's a bit early! Last night LO kept sticking out his/her foot it was amazing as you could just make out it was a foot! Babymadx

KitKat30 · 23/04/2007 09:53

Hi All!

The scan went really, really well ? saw my little boy wriggling away! He?s developing really nicely ? going to be very tall I think as his leg measurements were at the top of the scale! Saw all fingers and toes and apparently the placenta is in a good position and there?s plenty of amniotic fluid etc. So all went really well. Phew! Will try and put up another scan photo on my profile thingie today.

Fettle ? as you know (!) I couldn?t wait to find out the sex of the baby!! But I?m like that in real life too ? cant bear not knowing stuff. Plus I liked being able to know what clothes I could buy, start choosing names etc. Finding out helped me tame the control freak aspect to my personality!!

Firsty ? I?m all for taking short breaks here and there before the LO is born. I find I really need the rest and it gives me loads more energy. Hope you get a hol soon. Just put your feet up and sleep loads!!

Honeyapple ? it might be that you?re just coming out of the worst phase. Fingers crossed your morning sickness is gone!!! Are you due for a scan soon? That always helps put your mind at rest. BTW - who got the BFP on the temp threads???

Babymad ? my eating is really erratic these days too. Sometimes I?m ravenous ? other times I just can?t be bothered. I think it?s the hassle of actually cooking that I cant be arsed with ? whereas if someone plonked a meal in front of me, I?d happily eat it!!

Greedy / Bodders ? I?m terrified of getting piles!!! My hairdresser got terrible piles when she gave birth ? she always describes them as her ?bunch of grapes?. Lovely?.

Hello to everyone I haven?t mentioned ? hope you?re all OK!!

xx

Good morning ladies. Hope you are all well today.

Babymad ? haven?t had leaky ()() in any of my pg?s but I did have a friend who did from about half way through and had to wear pads for the remaining time as the flow was so strong!
It?s lovely when you can actually make out body parts when lo moves around isn?t it.

Fettle ? your weekend sounds lovely. We didn?t have very good weather here unfortunately.
We found out the sex of ds1 just because we were impatient and wanted to know. He had come back high risk of spina bifida so we had a really detailed scan and were able to tell. We didn?t tell anyone else though so it was still a surprise for them. With ds2 we were only scanned at 12 wks so didn?t find out and were quite happy to wait. With this lo we wanted to know just so we could get organised a bit better and also at the time ds1 was adamant he wanted a sister though now he doesn?t seemed bothered either way. Again, we haven?t told any family or friends in RL so will still be a surprise for them. So we have experienced knowing and not knowing and I honestly can?t say I felt any different at delivery time it being a surprise or not.

Firststar ? hope you are feeling much better now you know that you will have some relaxation time over the weeks before your maternity leave. It will do you the world of good and will help the time to fly in!

Bodkin ? hope you picked something up for the EF?s which is helping. I count myself very lucky indeed never to have suffered from these so can only imagine how uncomfortable you must be.

Kitkat ? delighted to hear scan went well. x

Well, eight weeks today at exactly this time I will be in hospital having/about to have my lo. Starting to panic a bit that we won?t be ready in time but we will just need to do our best. Works at home are a bit behind what with dh moving job and all but we are getting back on track this week with plaster/tiler starting this Wednesday and I will need to be getting started on the painting tomorrow! Don?t think I will be sitting with feet up by end of April now but hopefully by mid-May.

Hope you all have a lovely day! x

great news about your scan kitkat.

i thought how lucky i was not to get piles first time round, only to get them after my second birth! didn't last long though and compared to actually giving birth not a big deal really!!!!

fettle - we didn't find out the sex first time cos we wanted a surprise, but then second time i knew i would quite like a girl really so we found out. i didn't want to not know and then have a boy and feel disapointed in any way. obviously i wouldn't have minded another boy, but i just wanted to know in advance so i that i wasn't secretly disapointed. does that make sense? we didn't tell anyone we knew though. this time i would like to know so that i can convince the kids that they would prefer whatever we are going to have. does that make sense? i do make sense to myself, but i wonder if anyone else gets what i mean! my dh doesn't want to know though so i guess we wont find out. as this will probably be our last (maybe!) it will be quite nice to have a surprise i suppose, although as you know i am convinced i am having another girl anyway!

Bodkin · 23/04/2007 15:09

Hi all. Firsty, that's great that you've sorted out your work situation, and like you say, there are 2 bank holidays as well, so hopefully you can get a bit of time to rest and get a few things organised.

Kitkat, glad to hear all was well at the scan.

Fettle - I thought I might like to find out the sex this time, but as the scan got nearer, I went off the idea and decided on a nice surprise at the end of all that pushing! Doesn't seem to have been a problem with DD, she seems to understand it could be a boy or a girl, with a slight preference for a sister....

PinkB - hope everything gets finished in time. I am fantasising about re-decorating our kitchen in time for the new arrival (the baby's bedroom can wait - he/she won't care for a while yet!)

The magic ointment i have purchased seems to be working - phew! Plus I have been making much more of an effort to sleep on my left side (which apparently helps take pressure off) Now my shoulder on that side aches, but that is far more preferable!

Anyone else got names picked already? We are nearly 100% on a boys name, but can't seem to decide on a girl's! Keep trawling the name sites, but nothing is quite right. Can anyone recommend a good site/book?

BabyMadwithBump · 23/04/2007 15:55

Bodkin Yes we have first and middle names, for both sex all picked out! LOL!

BabyMadwithBump · 23/04/2007 15:58

DH liked this webbsite names got it from MN too!

PinkButterfly · 23/04/2007 16:28

Yes, Bodkin we also have our first and middle name picked out. We had already agreed on a boy's name too so if the scan turned out to be wrong and this lo isn't a pinky then at least we would be sorted in one area (doesn't really bear thinking about though after all the pink stuff I have bought!!!).

greedygreedyguzzler · 23/04/2007 16:51

so is anyone going to share names then? there is always the danger of people not liking them or stealing them for their own baby isn't there!

i think we are sorted on a girls name, but we will probably change our minds.

i like Cole for a boy and Coralie or Seren for a girl but dh said 'NO!' to all of them so i have had to rethink! last time we had a huge list of names pinned to the kitchen wall for about the last 3 months and then kept removing and adding to it as we changed our minds! actually i might get a list going now thinking about it!!! that will remind dh that we are having another one when he gets home tonight!!!(i do wonder if he has forgotten sometimes!!)
i want something a bit different too firsty.....different but not too weird...........not 'rainbow' like my ds suggested..........or 'pink' like my dd suggested!

come on people, share your names!!!!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 23/04/2007 17:01

i LOVE that website babymad!!!! its great! just found out some of the names i thought were really unusual aren't at all!!!

PinkButterfly · 23/04/2007 17:29

I am gutted .... on that website it details 114 children with a version of the name we have chosen although with the spelling we are using there are only 6. I know 114 and 6 in the whole of Scotland is not really a lot and I don't know of any children with this name but still ....... I am most upset!

PinkButterfly · 23/04/2007 17:32

Only 6 too with the version of the boy's name we had chosen!

BabyMadwithBump · 23/04/2007 17:36

Soz PinkButterfly didn't mean to upset you!

Also ladies! Boots have a 65cm "gym ball " (birthing ball) for £4.49!!!!! I've planed to have a HB and I've been picking up some useful bits, one being this handy ball, okay it's a gym ball but can very much so be used has a birthing ball. I brought it with my boots points too so didn't cost a thing, just incase anyone else is after a ball like this, this is a great offer here's a link boots ball offer

PinkButterfly · 23/04/2007 17:43

oh 'tis ok Babymad - I'd just been looking at baby name website before to see if I could see it listed and as it wasn't I didn't think there were many around - obviously had just never found the right website until you pointed it out!!!

honeyapple · 23/04/2007 18:39

hi, that's an interesting website- although it is quite Scottish (LOADS of Lewis/Robbie/Ross etc)... i wonder if there is an english version somewhere?

Pinkbutterfly- is your name Aron? My DS's name is very similar...

My DP won't even bother discussing names- just says NO to all my suggestions (admittedly they are sometimes slightly off the wall ). He wants to wait until the 20wk scan to see if we can find out the sex.

It is a very personal thing- name choosing- and I think it is better not to say anything until baby arrives! I went over a couple of my ideas with my MIL and SIL and they grimaced at nearly all of them (well they have no taste!).

Whoops, just eaten all DC's left over supper... Did anyone see that dieting programme yesterday about size 00?

fettleandminifettle · 23/04/2007 18:43

My goodness me - I hadn't realised there were so many unusual names - do people really call their children "G", "J"??

Not even thought about names yet - DH says he has some ideas, but he doesn't think I'll like them so he has to work on me!!! I'm intriguied to know - I think it is Charlotte, which although I like as a name, I don't want as a child's name, but he says I'll never know, but he'll get his way!! Not if I can help it!! Last time we had a certain girl's name, but no boys, so thankfully we did have a girl! Or else we would have had a nameless wonder for a few days!!

Still undecided about the sex issue - got 3 weeks to mull it over still. I think I still want a surprised, but DD is expressing a preference for a boy at the moment (although 3 months ago, she said having a brother would make her sad, as it would be a boy!!)

Anyway, have to go and see to her - she is just lying quietly on the sofa so I don't think she is feeling very well again - yet another cold!

take care all
xxx

honeyapple · 23/04/2007 18:51

My DS would love a brother, and DD would love a sister... so somebody is going to be a bit disappointed. I think it will help them to know the sex before it is born. Still got a while to wait till 20 wks though.

BabyMadwithBump · 23/04/2007 19:38

Well DS's want ONLY a sister and DH keep say her/she/girl all the time, he very mush so believes it a girl! not many poeple disapointment in our house if it's a boy then!! This is why I really what a 4D scan to tell what sex LO is, and the fact I had PND with DS#2 and I believe that a scan and knowing the sex will help with that, and I can buy alot more if I know what I'm buying for IYSWIM! But DH dosen't want to find out
