bodders - all you have to do for me is come round and have a serious word with my neighbours for me and make them see sense! we are having a joint extension with them (asking for trouble, i know!) and we have found a builder who can start NOW, but they are not as keen on him as we are! he is coming round in 45 mins to try and convince them! so i just need someone to threaten them with violence so they agree to go with this builder! you seem like just the girl for the job!!!

Chooster · 18/04/2007 20:56

So did they go for it Greedy? How could they not like a builder who can start now?

Wow, your c-section date seems pretty close PinkB - which in itself probably makes things seem closer for me, Firsty and bodders. I'll be finishing work around the time that little PinkB arrives in the world - Ahhh, you must be so excited!!!

Bodkin, we showed my son the baby bus website and he was massively excited and wanted to buy them all. I'm going to give them a ring tomorrow and see if we can go for it.

Hope you are doing better babymad - sounds like you are having a really tough time this time round. Hopefully things will get better. I've been having very vivid dreams but not nightmares...

fettleandminifettle · 18/04/2007 22:17

Hi Girls

How are we all this evening?

Did you see The Apprentice? Why did they put Orange food colouring in - do they not know anything?!!!!!

Anyway...

Babymad - sorry to hear you are not doing so well this pg. I'm sure it will get better - particularly if they find you are anemic - my energy levels have soared since taking the iron tablets.

I have to say that I only had 2 weeks that I enjoyed with DD, between the MS ending and the SPD kicking in. I think i'm in those weeks now with this pg - I feel great, loads of energy, good mood and ...wait for it girls.... I even did the washing up voluntarily this afternoon!!! I haven't done that since last November!!!! [how great is my DH!!! boast boast!, but he hasn't whisked me away for a romantic surprise weekend!]

Had a MW appointment this afternoon - all well, but she says my haemoglobin level is normal, so was a bit surprised I'd been prescribed iron. She said if my bowels were coping [which they are, if you are interested, Greedy, since you seem to like pooing!!!], I should carry on with them, as they will do no harm and will prevent anemia in later pg. She doesn't want to see my now for another 8 weeks, I thought we got checked every 4 weeks? I know i've got my anomaly scan in 3.5 weeks, but what about my BP and urine?

Chooster, you'll have a great time with a baby-bus - I'm jealous!! Although we've got my good school friend coming this weekend with her husband. She's 9 weeks pg, so we can compare notes!! Do hope the weather holds for your camping in a van trip!

Cramps aren't fun - started getting a few yesterday and I look forward to trying to get my toes up above my head, as you suggested Greeyd!!! Also can you imagine, DH's shock, if I suddenly jumped out of bed in the middle of the night and started lunging!!!!

BTW, Greedy, not really felt any definite movements yet, but possible faint flutterings this evening. MW not too worried as only 16+4, but can't wait for that reassuring feeling!

anyway, DH has just gone upstairs to bed, so I'd better join him - bit tired today as DD woke at 5.30am and I couldn't get back to sleep until just before the alarm went off at 6.30am and I hadn't slept very well before then anyway. not through any pg-related stuff, but I was still too scared from watching "Sea of Souls" last night! shouldn't have done it, but I'm morbidlly wanting to know how it ends tomorrow night, but I'm going out!

speak soon - if any of you are still reading this epic.

love to all, esp those I've not mentioned specifically.
xxx

fettle!!!!! DON'T try and get your toes ABOVE your head! thats not what i meant!!! is that what it sounded like? i could be responsible for all sorts of injuries! i meant sit down with your legs out straight and ...............oh! i am going to find a link with a picture to demonstrate!!! your dh does sound truly wonderful.............almost as wonderful as mine fettle! glad you are feeling so good at the moment. i am supposed to see midwife at 16 wks and then scan at 20 and midwife again at 24 same as you fettle so dont worry! my lovely midwife has left our surgery and i am quite upset! she was a superstar! could talk to her about anything. even had a conversation about orgasms last time i saw her! not sure if everyone does or if that is just me!!!!

bodders! you obviously didn't get violent enough with my neighbours! they still aren't convinced! we need to go and work on them a bit more tonight! (me and dh, not me and you bodders, dont panic!!!)

i have got so much to say today but my 12.30 patient is waiting for me in the waiting room! better go!

Bodkin · 19/04/2007 13:46

Oh, right, I'll put the baseball bat down then...

Just play the old "I'm 4 months pregnant" card and cry a bit, might soften 'em up!

Fettle - glad to hear you are feeling good, this weather definitely helps! The Apprentice eh? What a bunch of muppets! There was tartrazine in those lollies for gawds sake.

Hello everyone else. Chooster - hope they've got a van free for you - fingers crossed!

Just been to MW and got a clean bill - BP good, fundal height normal (but at the lower end of healthy scale, so doesn't look like I'm having a whopper, phew!) Head down currently (ace) and wee testing ok, so V. chuffed with all that.

greedygreedyguzzler · 19/04/2007 13:48

glad to her you are fit and healthy bodders! how big was your dd? were you on time with her?
cant find a link for those stretches, sorry. just do the lunges fettle! you cant get them wrong!.............or can you?

fettleandminifettle · 19/04/2007 14:20

Greedygreedy - was only joking - of course I know what you mean!. It was just funny how I imagined you describing it!!!

But go on, explain in detail how to do a lunge for me!!

got to go - lots to do at work today.

xxx

ps it is only you who discusses orgasms with your MW, I only discuss "bowel movements" - and that was her choice not mine!!!

Bodkin · 19/04/2007 14:52

Hey, my post didn't work. How annoying.

Anyway, as I was saying, DD was 6lb 14oz and arrived 2 days after EDD, so am hoping for a similarly cushy number this time round!

Greedy, I was wondering the other night as I was struggling to lean over my work bench with large bump in the way, as to how long you can keep on chiropracting for while preggers. Is it quite physical and do you need to lean over your patient, or can you keep doing it until 40 weeks? Just being nosy, really

KitKat30 · 19/04/2007 16:23

Hi girls - just a quick hello from me (as they always seem to be these days)!

Hope you're all OK today? I'm feeling slightly nervous as I have my anomaly scan tomorrow. Wish me luck! Wont be able to post until Monday, but I will let you know how I got on as soon as I can. Wish me luck!

Have a great weekend ladies, enjoy the sunshine! (Anyone going to watch the marathon???)

x

fettle! i thought you were serious! i did wonder how such a seemingly intelligent woman could suddenly become so dim!!!

bodders - i am quite tall (5ft 10 or 11) so i think that helps. i worked till 38 wks first time and 36 last time. last patient i had when i was 3orking at 38 wks was a 25 stone man! made me realise it was time to stop! i like to be all tough and hard though so i tend to carry on working and just moan about it! its hard when you are self employed though isn't it cos you kind of want the money! how about you? how long can you keep up your job?

firsty ........helloooooooooooo!

kitkat...........good luck good luck!

greedygreedyguzzler · 19/04/2007 17:44

choosterchops - you are quiet today! busy planning your lovely holiday are you?

BabyMadwithBump · 19/04/2007 17:45

Hello PG ladies how are we today?

For the last 2 days I've not been able to get warm, feel so cold to the bone kind of thing, I think a hot bath is in order tonight. Well on the G-pigs front got a hutch but no G-pigs to put in it, all the pet shop that I've rang round (sit at home and do the pet hunting ) haven't got any in, one place I phoned had some but £19 each are they for real!? Anyway a friend is going to ask her friend weather she has any (a breeder) saves my legs and energy even more.

Anyone been off food? all I feel like is breakfast and evening meal don't get that hungry any more, Any one else the same?
DS#1 keeps going to the toilet saying "he feels sick he feel sick" but then when he comes out he say's "good I wasn't sick" then just goes and plays and he always saying he's got backaches, DH and I just look at each other, with this look as we think he's coping off me! KIDS!!!

KitKat good luck with your scan!

honeyapple · 19/04/2007 19:23

Kitkat- good luck with your scan, I'm sure you don't need it .

A friend of mine guessed today that I was PG. She knew I was thinking about it... didn't know that I'd been TTCing for 6 mths though! Not sure if it was my slight tummy or the fact that I was grinning stupidly when I saw her... Now I am starting to worry that I am tempting fate by telling people, the worries don't go do they. I have a MW appointment on the 25th- hopefully meet my proper MW- cos last one I saw was helping out from another practice. I should then get a date for my 2nd scan.

Have been thinking of joining a prenatal yoga class, anyone do this already? Or any experience with yoga? Or maybe I'll just go with Greedy's lunges .

Hurrah! Finally, a BFP on the temp threads!!

Sorry to here you are feeling miserable at work firststar- what do you do?

I sent DS off to school with shorts on today-and it's blooming cold, poor boy! he was moaning this morning on the way there about it, and I confidently told him it would be hot later, doesnt look like it yet though.

How is everybody? I am mysteriously feeling very UNpregnant. MS and tiredness gone. Only thing that is reminding me is the size of my boobs and colour of nipples... already much darker. Apparently so baby can see them better!

Firsty - it might be the old nesting instinct kicking in for you - that feeling of "I just want to be at home pottering about getting everything ready". You're full-time as well arent' you? any chance of a day off (holiday or sickie ) so you can have a break?

Good on you Greedy for working until the bitter end! I'm hoping to have finished all my jobs by the end of May (have stopped taking in any new work until october when I hope to be able to do a bit again) But, tbh, I am finding it quite hard to do more than 2 hours at a time now due to backache and -TMI Alert- impending "Emma Freuds" (piles)! Any other fellow sufferers? Got off lightly last pg, so have no idea how to keep things at bay - any tips?

How was your scan KitKat? Hope it all went well.

Babymad - £19 for a Guinea Pig!!!!! I'd want it to be able to tap-dance and help round the house for that price!

glad to hear you are feeling better about work nnow you have decided to take some time off firsty! good old bodders hey! what would we do without her!?

honeyapple - i am not sure you should be allowed another child if that is the way you treat them! poor little boy!..............sounds like the sort of thing i do actually! i always dress my kids inappropriately! if the sun is out i assume its boiling outside so they often moan they are cold! its good for them! it toughens them up!!!

bodders - i got piles after giving birth last time and used preparation H! my stupid dh asked my f-i-l to buy it for me at the chemist on their way over to see the new baby! how embaressed was i when he handed it to me?! it seemed pretty good though!

Blimey - I'm not this helpful to my RL friends I'm normally useless at advice, what has come over me! Anyway Firsty, that sounds like a good plan, and besides, you never know, you might be desperate to get back to work after your maternity leave (well, maybe...!)

Thanks for sharing Greedy! That must have been a little embarrassing!. Will pop to Boots with false glasses and moustache (its a very small town where I live, I'm bound to see someone I know at the counter)
