I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is great: 024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.

So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

@DeadDoorPost I'm hoping this is where they stop, because they're getting past E Cup already- wasn't far off to begin with, and it's just another thing that's in the way.

All the baby blogs are saying at 19-20 weeks I should have more energy and getting stuff done- really don't feel like it! Don't want to waste this time before third trimester though.

HaichM · 30/06/2017 15:31

Oklahoma: carbs didn't work for me much either but fruit was hit and miss at the beginning. Now the HG loves it and with the reduced sugar diet thanks to not really liking biscuits and chocolate too much, I've probably been eating the healthiest I have in years lol. Until this last bit where I am craving sugar and fruit anyway.

Nonstop: I've had some of those. Mine seem to have me having a baby boy even though most of the time I'm sure I'm having a girl.

LucindaE · 30/06/2017 18:02

Oklahoma and Natsku It is wonderful that you can eat salad and fruit - so few people can (except as tinned fruit) I suppose because of the acidity? Your skin must look good.

LucindaE · 30/06/2017 18:06

Ah, and HaichM can eat them, too.
Oh dear, NonStopDisco and DeadDoorPost. Mine went up from DD to E, to my dismay. Shock But I knew as many women who lost a cup size.

DeadDoorpost · 30/06/2017 18:39

Lucinda I've been an E since I was 17 so I'm used to it. I do sometimes wish they were smaller but thats only coz the prettier bras are in smaller sizes

pippanippa · 30/06/2017 18:51

Sorry haven't had chance to catch up with the thread yet, but wanted to say thanks for the thoughts earlier. I took myself to hospital this afternoon and was given a lovely drip and some anti-sickness meds. Am home now resting up, but hopefully the cycle is broken now and tomorrow will be a better day!

LucindaE · 30/06/2017 19:05

pippasnippa Oh dear. I wondered if you were headed for admission.
I hope you feel a lot better. Have they added to the meds?
DeadDoorPost Bravissimo have got a lovely range, including maernity bras, but I expect you know of them already.

Lemondrop99 · 30/06/2017 19:14

Sounds like a smart move Pippa. Hope you're feeling a bit better for it.

Nature, how did the scan go?

My cot bed just turned up! DH is too tired to build it tonight and I'm too impatient. He laughed at me when I said I'd build it Hmm But I opened the box and there's way more parts than I thought, so maybe I'll just leave it Blush Feeling quite good today and just enjoyed a Dominos. Nice. Nice change after feeling vaguely but consistently rubbish for most of the week.

Natsku · 30/06/2017 19:28

I guess my skin looks the same as normal (didn't have any skin problems last time either though and had the lovely bonus of body hair growing much much slower - looking forward to that again!)

My boobs are tiny normally so I'm looking forward to them getting a bit bigger.

Doxylamine def seems to be working - no puking at all today and only a tiny bit of nausea when my stomach got empty and after I ate some sweets.

DeadDoorpost · 30/06/2017 19:59

@LucindaE I've not actually thought of Bravissimo and haven't even looked at maternity bras. I've stuck to non-wired soft bras from Primark and braletts.

HaichM · 30/06/2017 20:02

Dead: I'm a G normally, up to H at the moment but probably have gained or will gain another cup size. Glad I'm not gaining the same as last time - I ended up a KK!

Nat: glad the meds seem to be helping

Lemon: yay for the dominos

Pippa: hope you do have a better day tomorrow

TwoDrifters · 30/06/2017 21:48

Holly I'm so so sorry about the attempted turn but honestly your section will be calm, swift and nowhere near as painful as you'll be fearing.

Sorry to hear everyone else is suffering so much still. Onwards and upwards! It's July tomorrow! Another new month! Closer to all your due dates Flowers

LucindaE · 01/07/2017 10:08

TwoDrifters A lovely supportive message. How are things?
HaichM That must be a little - ahem - uncomfortable.

Hello all, I feel almost human and haven't been sick at all today so far, that's not too far away from 24 hours without vomiting, yay. I'm so hungry now, which is surely a good sign, not long until I can eat though, was ordered to wait till midday to break the cycle of throwing up...am going to have to be sensible and try not to devour the whole fridge!!

Anyway, sorry for all my self-indulgent posts lately. Have finally caught up on the thread now though and hope the scan went well onnature!

Hollyhop17 · 01/07/2017 11:28

Really glad you're having a better day Pippa. You really deserve it, long may it last!

My nausea is rank, rank, rank today so DH is getting an earful bless him. I feel like the HG is just desperate to plague me until the bitter end. Well you've got 5 days...

Waves to all.

LucindaE · 01/07/2017 11:59

pippasnippa I am so glad that you feel a bit better. You were not at all self indulgent.
Hollyhop Hyperemesis that lasts throughout must be like an unwelcome guest. It's a Scourge.

Hi all.

Quick check in.

All went well yesterday. Measuring fine, little on the small side but still within "normal" range. Placenta is anterior which explains why there is only little flutters going on. Babys head is lying on the side where my bump is solid and feet are on the side where bump is sore... So all makes sense.

No nausea today, but feel like I've been hit by bus. Late to bed last night, and then woke in middle of early morning completely starving. So I'm exhausted, and my poor cat isn't well so I'm having a f**k it day and staying in lazing around. (The final nursery decorating can sod off until tomorrow)

Hope you guys are all well today.

Xxx

And here is the cause of my hit by a bus feeling. My energy thief

OnNatures - beautiful pic :)

Pippas- glad so hear you are feeling better :)

So I've started in cyclizine but 24 hours in and I'm not sure it's doing anything - I threw up before even attempting my dinner last night and then threw up again after breakfast this morning. Lunchtime is the only time I can keep food and drink down. Evenings are lying in a dark room trying not to move. I'll contact the doctor again on Monday - can anyone suggest what they are likely to offer as an alternative? I keep wishfully thinking I'm 12 weeks on Tuesday and it cant possibly stick around much longer but I know from previous experience not to get too hopeful...

Thingymaboob · 01/07/2017 13:05

@purpleelephant28 you should start pushing for ondansetron I think. GPs will be resistant as most of them are poorly informed and it's expensive. I found cyclizine useless - good in combination with ondansetron as it helped me settle at night and sleep

TwoDrifters · 01/07/2017 13:07

Lucinda Things are fine thanks. A very wriggly 17-month-old and nothing further to report as yet! Still torn between frustration that nothing is happening on the pregnancy front and relief that HG is to be held at bay a little longer!

OnNaturesCourse · 01/07/2017 15:38

So due to me being exhausted, a ill cat, messy house and genuinely feeling crap... I've not eaten anything since about 3:30am.

DP is making me food now although I'm not feeling hungry but my eyesight has got strange black floaters in when I look at bright areas. Can this be caused by lack of food/sugar levels... Or is it blood pressure? I've felt rubbish all day 😡 and the nausea returned about a hour ago. I've got a funny pressure at the top of my nose too. Help.

DeadDoorpost · 01/07/2017 16:29

OnNature The black spots could be either lack of food or blood pressure so get some sugar in you and make sure you sit still. Sometimes it can be caused by moving suddenly (happens to me a lot)

Managed to sleep pretty much the whole night on my front which means I slept very well. Only problem is that I could then feel the baby and sac right at the front of my stomach and it caused some problems bending and sitting... really uncomfortable.
Baby seems to like poking me. Don't feel it often, but when I do it's either like someone's poking me gently from inside or running their finger along my stomach. Just enough to let me know they're there before not moving for another 20 hours or so.

LucindaE · 01/07/2017 18:44

purpleelephant Sorry cyclizine isn't helping. It does take about two days to help in tablet form, I think (great as an injection), but if it is having no effect at all, it is certainly worth asking for more and silly me, it is the weekend, so that will be Monday anyway. As others say, Ondansetron is the best - but constipation is a menace, so make sure if the doctor offers that that you ask for something for the inevitable constipation. Because it is expensive, they may well try you next on Prochlorperazine or maybe Metoclomramide - though some doctors don't prescribe that long term as it very occasionally makes the mother twitchy and has to be discontinued (no effect on baby). There's the other one, whose name I always forget. Do keep an eye on those ketones!
OnNature'sCourse Lovely clear scan picture - it is so nice when women go in for their scan nervous and come out relieved. Sorry about ill cat and specks before eyes - low blood pressure, maybe, as someone else suggested?
DeadDoorPost That poking can hurt. Not nice if you feel unwell.
TwoDrifters I can imagine! I hope you only get pregnancy sickness this time...
I hope everyone is coping.
