I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Sorry to hear that Mustang. Hope the drip at least gives you some symptom free hours. Feel better.

No, the nursery doesnt have to be done right away, he will definitely be in with us until January. But its just another thing HG is robbing from me. I am such an organised person and actually enjoy admin and getting on with things. If I was having a normal pregnancy it would be done already, so I feel sad that its nowhere near started Sad. I know there are worse things happening...

LucindaE · 25/05/2017 18:00

Mustang Poor you, I do hope it makes you feel a lot better.
Lemon Glad your bowels are working.
Hollyhop Never apologise for moaning and my goodness, avoid public transport in this heat. I am sure the baby won't cast a supercillious eye about and say, 'I expected better'.
Oklahoma You deserve congratulations for surviving the move!
FlapAttack There must be some neurological reason, I suppose - but that is very hard.

mustang sorry you've had to go to the hospital hope you get some relief.

holly that's just it isn't it? It's not just that you can't get your nursery done, it's having part of yourself stolen. "Worse things happening" do not make you less worthy of empathy or your feeling less valid. It's not a choice between skipping through meadows and absolute unthinkable horror. Sometimes, thing are just shit. They get better, but you have to acknowledge it first.

FlapAttack88 · 25/05/2017 18:05

Oh hahaha sorry disco!!! I also do pantless puking in front of DH.. cmany stand the feeling of any pressure around waist so in my days home alone i just wonder around in my hufflepuff t shirt with everything on show....I curse the door when someone knocks!!! I wonder if there is such a thing as waistless pants.

I have just looked out the window and it's rainy and horrible honest.. no reason for anyone to leave their curtain drawn rooms. I think it's already dark too so no need to get out of pyjamas !

I may have to change my username to pantlesspuker next although nature really you should get first dibs 😂

Oh mustang hope the drip gets you back to feeling a bit better again. You've had it really tough. Was it you with the little one and bf too? Sorry I have mashed potato for brains at the moment and can't remember things well xx

NonStopDisco · 25/05/2017 19:01

flap DH came home with ice lollys and has just put his shorts on. Probably in solidarity.

Melleebacca · 25/05/2017 19:47

Oklahoma - I only suffer from piles during pregnancy, mostly because I carry very very low and small. Most days I don't notice them, but if I've done too much standing or crouching, they start to get uncomfortable. Sitting on a hot water bottle helps. You can get creams, but they didn't help for me, the only cream that did was nappy rash cream 😂.

For those dealing with the heat, HG symptoms do feel worse in summer, especially on days when you feel like you're missing out. But the warmth causes the hormones to move through the bloodstream faster and that makes you feel sicker.

Feeling awful here. DD woke up screaming at midnight due to teething. She went down after some painkillers but I couldn't get back to sleep for 2hours. Was so nauseous and trying not to puke. Good day for glucose testing 😞

Lemon & Flap - good luck for your scans. Hopefully they calm all your nerves.

Holly - I read that after 33w there is the lowest chance of development issues. And after 37w babes should be all good lung wise. Just because I'm also keen for this torture to end, it's nice to know that every day does mean you're going to get a healthier baby.

I totally forgot that pants is undies in the U.K., and was wondering what the racket was all about for a bit. I haven't wet myself puking, so most of the time I have granny pants on and leggings pulled up to my belly button. Super sexy.

OnNaturesCourse · 25/05/2017 19:55

Flap hufflepuff?! Ravenclaw over here waves

It is FINALLY cooling down where I am. Slowly but surely. I'm not looking forward to getting to sleep tonight. It's bad enough when you want to puke and have insomnia, let alone chucking the heat in there too. I'm already thinking of a excuse for a sick day tomorrow. 😂😴💤

Hollyhop17 · 25/05/2017 20:18

Gryffindor waves from over here!

Thanks everyone. I think after my good induction news on Tuesday and the nausea being relatively manageable, I convinced myself that it was finally going. The nausea being back so badly has just felt so depressing, almost like one final 'fuck you' Sad

FlapAttack88 · 25/05/2017 20:22

Nature my husband got it for me as a "funny" joke haha.. what an arse. I insist on ravenclaw too. It has backfired on him though as everytime I wear it I act like a dopey goon and if he protests at how annoying I am i say "what.. I am a hufflepuff!" . No offence to hufflepuff fans intended haha. He also says I am ed put if lion king when I asked him what disney princess he thought I was most like when I was doing one of those quizzes.

Mellee haha I don't know what to call them anymore. .. knickers sounds so wrong haha! Haha another brilliant description .. We are all just too sexy 😂

NonStopDisco · 25/05/2017 20:23

OnNature ravenclaw here as well (determined by Pottermore and everything!)

mellee interesting about the warmer weather actually making it worse, rather than just feeling worse. My sexy outfit is horrible boxers and a big tshirt, stolen from donated by DH.

OnNaturesCourse · 25/05/2017 20:32

Aww I love you Hogwarts ladies 💞😘 It's my slight obsession...

My comfortable "pants/knickers on" outfit is DPs largest T-shirt and little mermaid short shorts. I'm a lovely creature in pregnancy!

Melleebacca · 25/05/2017 20:39

Short shorts and oversized Tees are the best for HG in summer. I used to throw a tantrum if I had to wear a bra as well. Cold here now, so a gigantic dressing gown and huge leggings (hence the disgust when I had a houseguest and had to get dressed in real clothes for the day).

Not as much of a HP fan, but I have been to Harry Potter World in Orlando and I highly recommend butterbeer and chocolate frogs (they're solid chocolate!)

Hollyhop17 · 25/05/2017 20:53

I would love to go braless but my boobs have grown so much already, it is more painful not wearing one sadly.

Also a huge HP fan here. Off to see Cursed Child (at least I better be well enough for it) in a few weeks. Can also recommend HP world. We went as part of our honeymoon last year and the new bit with Gringotts bank is really something.

I am so huge I live in maternity leggings and floaty skirts/dresses. I havent touched a pair of jeans for months and months. Definitely the least glowing pregnant person ever!

Melleebacca · 25/05/2017 21:25

Just drank my sugar solution. Lovely nurse just offered to turn the heating up for me because I looked cold. I told her I was covering my mouth with my scarf in order not to puke.

Holly - I somehow accidentally got rid of all my pregnancy jeans from last time around, so it's stocking and leggings this winter. I refuse to buy more pregnancy clothes as this is definitely the last time.

OnNaturesCourse · 25/05/2017 21:28

I'm only 14 weeks so I'm refusing to buy maternity wear. I just look fat.

Harry Potter world is beyond amazing, felt like I was going home when I walked into it 💞

Hollyhop17 · 25/05/2017 21:31

Where are you again Mellee? I know what you mean, I really dont want to buy much maternity stuff as I 100% wont be pregnant again. Its why I basically have about 5 outfits on rotation...

Anyone else finding it hard to sleep? I think its s combo of being huge, hot and the nausea keeping me up Sad

OnNaturesCourse · 25/05/2017 21:34

Me! Sleep only happens for maximum of three hours then I'm awake. Even those three hours are light, half awake, crappy sleep. I feel like I'm surviving on naps. Like I literally sit down for 2 minutes and I'm asleep then at bedtime... Nada, nothing.

Melleebacca · 25/05/2017 21:35

Holly - I'm in NZ, bottom of the world 😊
Sleep is ok, as long as I don't get woken up in the middle of the night, then the nausea is rampant and sleep eludes me.

While I wait my required hour, better do this pottermore test to join in with the crowd.

Hollyhop17 · 25/05/2017 21:55

Ah ok. Well I'm off to try and sleep. I hope the test goes well, GTT I'm assuming and I look forward to reading where you've been sorted tomorrow morning.

Or, you know in a few hours time when I wake up...

Melleebacca · 25/05/2017 22:02

Gryffindor with a dapple grey mare as a patronus. Stoked with the outcome.

FlapAttack88 · 25/05/2017 22:10

Oh.. DH will never let me live this down 😂

Lemondrop99 · 25/05/2017 22:13

Yes Mellee!!! I was starting to think I was the only member of a respectable house here Grin Also a proud Gryffindor. There's better not be an Slytherins smiling around......

Ah, you lot are going to love my HP themed nursery! I've been planning it for months. I'm a total Potter geek, I've been to Orlando three times primarily just to go to the theme park there - which is amazing, and I'm already working out what age I can realistically travel there again with a small child!!!

I know what you mean about things being stolen Holly. I'm also very organised and looking forward to getting the nursery done, even though I know there no logical reason why it needs to be finished by birth. It's kind of like how I feel the decision about whether or not to have a second child has been ruined by this. Maybe one day I'll be brave enough, but there's suddenly this huge consideration which I hadn't bargained on.

Feeling quite good today. Went along to my choir and (after a few day of little movement) baby booted the life out of me throughout. Can't work out if that means he likes or hates my singing!
