I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Flap & Nonstop - red and blue Powerade is frightening to bring back up. I tried them both in an effort to get more liquids in me last pregnancy. Really started to freak seeing bright red bits of vomit. In order to get coloured foam, perhaps try coloured peppermints? DD was born a week before Halloween which my American hubby was less thrilled about. He was very excited for a multitude of Halloween themed birthday parties.

Oklahoma · 25/05/2017 09:27

Beetroot would be another good shout for Halloween tricks.

Oklette was born on Halloween so I'm hoping for some great birthday parties when she's a bit older.

Those of you on rennies etc have you tried ranitidine instead? It stops the excess acid forming in the first place so you get rid of the awful acid voms and the heartburn in one. And they're nice little tasteless tablets.

One do you mean laxative pessaries? If so yes, I've used bisacodyl (dulcolax) a couple of times and found it worked really well.

Someone mentioned piles... suggestions? I got them in labour last time and they're back already. Not really sure what to do.

Please could whoever goes to the post office pick up my pregnancy glow too? Also MIA.

OnNaturesCourse · 25/05/2017 10:22

I do like to paint honest pictures of myself 😂 lol.

Feeling better today, exhausted but I've managed to put pants on which is good! Still not 100% but hoping the cream will now be of use. I am getting very mild waves of cramps but I think that's the pessary working internally (fights off negative, anxiety ridden thoughts)

Hope you ladies have a good day.

Oh and post office says no glowing packages, we've to check with the sender... Anyone know who that is!?

LucindaE · 25/05/2017 10:38

OnNature'sCourse You shameless, knickerless thing, you!
On night vomits: that's awful! I think the only thing to do is to have a bowl by your pillow.
Flapattack Ha Ha, about ginger dinosaur!
NonStopDisco That's intriguing about ginger beer. I am so glad your other male workmates have been examplary.

Oklahoma Ranitindine, indeed, and I think it was Omprazole which stopped MotherofPearls hateful post commuting acid vomits in the sink.
I had to laugh at all the suggestions for Haloween and the one that the pregnancy glow had been lost in the post. Grin

Bit down here today. Is anyone else finding the weather a trigger? I am back to being sick everyday and struggling to keep fluids down yesterday and today. The nausea is back to its absolute worst. Struggling to think straight, living on ice lollies.

Lucinda, is it worse in summer? Sad

OnNaturesCourse · 25/05/2017 10:58

I have been finding the hotter/more flustered I feel the worse the nausea and sickness is. You are not alone! X

Hollyhop17 · 25/05/2017 11:07

Its the nausea I can't deal very well with. I am beyond caring about being sick anymore. Sorry to hear it is affecting you too, On Natures. Currently lying in bed with a fan in my face feeling very sorry for myself...

FlapAttack88 · 25/05/2017 11:08

Yes weather definitely makes it worse for me.. just call me dracula.sorry you're having a bad patch Holly. Me too :(

Annie1290 · 25/05/2017 11:38

Another one having a bad time at the moment. Feeling very sorry for myself and back to being sick mutiple times a day. Feel confined to my house in between Drs appts - feel ridiculous going to the Drs this often but everything is failing after a week. Haven't felt as bad as today since I went in hospital. Moan moan moan.

LucindaE · 25/05/2017 12:19

Annie Sorry to hear things are so bad. Have those pesky ketones krept up high again? It isn't ridiculous to keep going back to the doctor; it's the sensible thing to do.
Hollyhop I think people find the heat makes things worse and it doesn't seem so bad lying on a sofa in rain, or snow and ice.
Much sympathy to all suffering in the hot weather. Someone said further back that the birdsong set her off, and that's awful; that's really cruel. There have been a couple of women who lived in near the sea on these threads and they were surprised how the air on the beach made them feel better. Maybe some should be bottled...

Tablets seem to be working again but I still don't feel like doing anything. Energy has dipped really low today and all I can smell is damp clothes but i cant find any in the house??

Lemondrop99 · 25/05/2017 12:49

I pooped today!!!!!! Normally, in less that 5 mins, no pain! It was amaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing Grin So proud of myself lol

I'm down to 1 ondansetron most days (topping up with a promethazine last afternoon if I have to) and I really hope this is making a difference to my poor digestive tract.

Anomaly scan tomorrow. So nervous about it, I'll be glad when it's over

FlapAttack88 · 25/05/2017 13:42

Ha thay ws me with the bird song. Therr is a particular song on the radio at the moment that also set me off.. I can't remember what it's called.. a rapper guy beginning with s? Stormsey? Is lots of fast talking and busy music and blughgh

I have my 20 week tomorrow too lemondrop ! Well done on your poo haha!

Dead and Annie sorry you're having a bad day.

Am back on the cyclizine .. tried 2 .5 weeks without it and have struggled so trying 1 a day again

Oklahoma · 25/05/2017 13:48

Go Lemon, go Lemon . It's rubbish how things like that are real achievements these days. Also wilting in the heat and feeling thoroughly fed up. I'm looking round the. We house and there is SO much to do but I'm just sat here doing nothing.

Lemondrop99 · 25/05/2017 14:21

I know Oklahoma, I'm celebrating doing something my dog does three times a day without blinking Hmm

Good luck tomorrow Flap! Let me know how you get on. I'm slightly reassured by the fact I can feel movement now, but still nervous they might find problems. I'll be almost 22 weeks so feels like the wait has been forever.

Take it easy in the heat everyone. Don't move it you don't have to, avoid public transport, set up a fan and grab some ice lollies!

Hollyhop17 · 25/05/2017 14:28

Good luck for scans Lemon and Flap.

Sorry you're so thoroughly fed up to Oklahoma. We havent made a start on the nursery yet, it needs wall paper coming off, painting, putting up furnitute etc and I feel so bad cant contemplate doing any of it Sad. It's something I would normally be quite excited about...

Starting to feel like I wouldnt mind if he was born now at 32+1... Just really gad enough and worry its only going to get worse if this weather continues. It has at least made my mind up to get signed off again. Cant possibly contemplate getting public transport and concentrating in an office next week feeling like this.

Sorry for the self indulgent whinge. Feeling properly sorry for myself today.

Lemondrop99 · 25/05/2017 14:39

Do you need to do the nursery yet Holly? I know it's lovely to have it all ready before baby gets here, but will he use it for the first 6 months or will he be in with you? Because there's likely no rush for practical reasons and maybe something you can enjoy doing when your little lad is a few months old and you're feeling a lot better? Definitely get signed off, don't even think about public transport in this! You're so close now Holly, 32, you'll get there (and 10 weeks before me....not that I'm jealous Wink)

Anyone heard from Peace??! I'm hoping silence is exciting news?

Mustang27 · 25/05/2017 14:48

From the queen of the pity party it's ok to feel shit Holly. You don't want the wee one to come early you just think you do that would bring a whole set of other worries, hugs lovely lady you sound like you really need them although I'm pretty sweaty so I think we would just set each other off.

There is so many funny things said I can't possibly mention it all but you guys make me laugh.

I'm finding the weather a trigger too but we have quite a nice breeze in Scotland but it is 26 so iv been sitting on the picnic blanket, a huge parasol above me and my sick bowl whilst my wee one has a ball in his paddling pool it's quite cheering to see him so happy.

Lemon I'm jealous of your poo lol and laughed as my dogs are shitting machines too Envy

FlapAttack88 · 25/05/2017 15:42

I am still laughing about disco s Description of her pantless escapades last night while the husband was out 😂😂

OnNaturesCourse · 25/05/2017 16:02

Haha, that was me 😂 I've managed to keep my pants on all day (thankfully has had two lots of unexpected visitors!)

All those who are having a moan and rant, never apologise... We all it, more so now that ever! And to be honest if you didn't moan I'd feel extra bad when I did!

OnNaturesCourse · 25/05/2017 16:02

NonStopDisco · 25/05/2017 16:13

flap that was OnNatures, my pantsless puking is done in front of my DH, he finds it delightful I'm sure! Think OnNature is showing off about getting pants on today, I've laid in bed with curtains closed pretending it's probably raining and really cold anyway.

Just feel like I'm about to be sick all the time! If I actually were sick, I'd actually at least feel better for a bit.

Piles- no idea what to do with them, I've never had them before. Dr Google says they're common in pregnancy and if you've vomited a lot, which covers literally everyone here, hoping someone comes along!

Mustang27 · 25/05/2017 16:41

That's me off to hospital thanks to good old ketones. At least the drip might help

OnNaturesCourse · 25/05/2017 16:52

I am showing off a little... It's a good day for me, nausea but no sickness. Even managed to get some washing done. (I'm ashamed of the state of our home at the moment, I've no desire to do anything)

Mustang... All my love, hopefully they get you as sorted as they can, and soon! Keep in touch lovely xx

Lemondrop99 · 25/05/2017 16:57

Oh no Mustang! Hope you at least feel better afterwards
