The wait for labour

Anyone up for a support thread for those of us waiting to go into labour? I am 37 +2 today. My first baby was born at 39 + 6 but I was in prelabour from 38 + 6. I am on maternity leave and I have lots of things I would like to do but nothing I really need to do. The bags are packed. Just waiting now. Anyone else?

Hello, can I join? Am expecting dc2, due today! Unfortunately I currently have a stomach bug, so not feeling very up for labour, as much as I'd like it to happen soon.

Krissie it sounds like you might have pulled something, not unusual given how much everything is shifting. When I have pains like that I put a hot water bottle on the area which tends to sort it out.

I am shattered today. Decided to invite all the family round for a BBQ, 4 days before my due date. I must be mad! It's been a lovely day but exhausted now.

Can I be added to the list please? My due date is on 25th May.

I'm hoping to last until Wednesday evening as I have an opening evening at my 4 year old DS school. He starts in September and I really want to make it to the introduction evening. After that this baby can come whenever it likes!

Of all the other problems I've had in this pregnancy, the fact that I've potentially only got one more night of heartburn to live through is making me so so happy right now...

Had crazy busy day at a canal festival with lots of friends and kids then straight out for family dinner, just back now and shattered and achey. Not tonight baby, I'm too tired for labour! Bloody great day though

I had a bit of bloody show last night whilst I was in the bath. TMI Just saw it floating around and called DH in with excitment to have a look! Have been up 2 hours already today,had a bagel and watered the garden and plants.
Currently bouncing on my ball hoping baby decides to make a move.

I had a curry last night... It did bigger all! I was having some very mild contractions but think it was just mildly painful BH. Oh well!

Who needs sleep eh? Sleep is for the weak. As long as my partner had a lovely nights sleep, SNORING AWAY ALL PEACEFULLY 😡 god I feel sick. Half an hour til I have to ring the hospital to find out what time to go in. I'm in a flap about my hospital bag being too full & heavy & trying to find another bag to split it into. Still got to drop my youngest at nursery, hoover, change the bed, mKe sure oldest has everything she needs for her week long school trip today. I need a paper bag to breathe into...

Ooh, best of luck, Jon! I'm getting so impatient here... Have been awake since 4am, just couldn't settle back to sleep but nary a hint of a contraction yet.

On the plus side, my hair has never been in such good condition. I keep stopping to admire it when I pass a mirror Those pregnancy hormones are good for something!

Last baby I got ver excited and tired myself out walking around during pre labour. This time I am determined to be well rested when it all starts. If you're not sleeping well at night make sure you have a nap or a long lie down in the day. Trust me, if you don't you'll regret it.

If only, Apples; my energetic three-year-old is less convinced of the merits of spending the afternoon lying in bed, unfortunately Will try to bribe her with the iPad later...

Ooh missed the bit about the show, I've lost a few bits of my plus since 34 weeks but didn't have the full on bloody show til I was actually in labour last time so could be good news for you soon! Will be going into hospital at half 1 today, so that gave me a bit more time to get some things sorted, & be able to wave off the oldest on her trip haha. Poor moo is gutted that of all the weeks it's this week that I'll be having the baby & she won't be here!

I'm feeling irrationally angry that I haven't gone into labour yet - even though I'm not due until 6th June! I've had a horribly achy back and a dodgy tummy for days now but still no signs of baby making an appearance! I've watched so much crap tv I'm losing the will to live...

Cel - tv/new sticker book/bucket of water and a tiny cup in the garden and ask them to water all the plants?

So yeah I don't think I'm gonna do the whole hospital thing today... I might just hold my belly in & fly off somewhere nice & not have to deal with what's to come 😫

Oops double post

Feeling fed up this afternoon. Get ravenously hungry, so had a large lunch. Then needed a nap, lack of sleep last night (and every bloody night!) and nodded off for half an hour before waking up having to run to the toilet to be sick.

This happens all the time, heartburn and large baby means absolutely no room for food. I'm so fed up of sleeping sat up.

Sorry for the moan, I know it won't change anything. I want the baby to stay put until Thursday anyway, so I am contradicting myself anyway. Argh!!
