The wait for labour

Anyone up for a support thread for those of us waiting to go into labour? I am 37 +2 today. My first baby was born at 39 + 6 but I was in prelabour from 38 + 6. I am on maternity leave and I have lots of things I would like to do but nothing I really need to do. The bags are packed. Just waiting now. Anyone else?

Thanks for keeping everything organised peace!

Week late today. Fucked off SadAngry

CaipirinhasAllRound · 28/05/2017 09:19

Thanks Peace. #1 was a healthy 8lb 13

peaceloveandbiscuits · 28/05/2017 09:27

I think that's what I weighed at birth Caip. My apologies to your pelvic floor.
I've declined any growth scans after 34 weeks with this one as they just caused me anxiety last time. I hope I've done the right thing! I don't feel any bigger than before.

Applesandpears23 · 28/05/2017 09:51

How did everyone sleep? I had waves of back ache for hours and was up roaming around the house. It all seemed to quieten down at dawn so I went back to bed.

At least my 3 year old slept through Smile and my parents are coming to take her out today so we can relax and rest.

Grumbly back ache here. DS is going to stay at my sister's tonight and we have cinema tickets booked. Come on baby, this is your cue to mess up my plans!

Badgerbird · 28/05/2017 10:47

Meh. I want back ache too!!

SunshineAllTheWhile · 28/05/2017 10:50

Urgh. Sorry to hear you had a bad news night Apples.

Back aches and contractions continue (about 2 mins long) but really REALLY far apart - so I expect to be feeling this crap for days yet... Yes Peace I need to make some plans!

Caip 😱 But, I will say, with last baby I was in a birth weight study & had 4D growth scans every 4 weeks. They predicted a 8lb plus baby & the midwife was measuring me ahead by 3/4 weeks... out popped a 6lber (2 weeks early but I doubt he would have had access to protein shakes in there) ... hopefully baby 2 won't be too dramatically bigger than number 1 for you!

giddyasakipper · 28/05/2017 11:39

I was up most of the night with backache too. It's so miserable the only relief I can get is in the bath or on the ball but neither of those let me get any sleep! Bump has been going rock hard pretty much non stop for the last couple of days but no sign of anything happening!

Badgerbird · 28/05/2017 13:03

Sorry everyone with back ache BrewCakeI realise it must be shit, I'm just wanting some movement to show she's thinking about making an appearance some time soon that's all ;)
You know I'll be bitching once it starts of course! Wink

Applesandpears23 · 28/05/2017 15:25

Giddy it is grim isn't it? I eventually got to sleep about 7am and was woken at 9. Planning on trying to have a nap in a minite.

It's so oooooohhhhhhh bloody hot! 36+5 & just been for a wee & when I wiped it was a peachy type colour (not like dark dehydrated, but not pink like blood or anything either!) Anyone have any ideas? Don't remember this with either of my other two, also having loads of braxton hicks, they're driving me mad!

peaceloveandbiscuits · 28/05/2017 15:33

Probably mild dehydration, teeny. Have plenty to drink in the heat.

SunshineAllTheWhile · 28/05/2017 15:53

Hey teeny yes I had that the other day & it was dehydration, but of course, if it persists after drinking a load of water, then docs!

Ok ladies, I'm truly fed up. On the verge of tears. The painful contractions have stopped now & I'm just shattered instead. My brain is shrouded in fog & I feel super stressed by every thing.

It's probably nap time here too...

Ok... Trying not to get too excited but I started to lose my plug! Lots of BH today so really hoping this baby is on its way.

Applesandpears23 · 28/05/2017 19:31

Sunshine I hope you got some rest and feel better now.

How is everyone doing today? Braxton hicks are driving me bloody mad! Thankfully it's quite a bit cooler today though.

MissMooMoo · 29/05/2017 14:45

Baby boy Moo arrived on 25/05 after a long labour that ended in EMCS.
I didnt know it but my waters started leaking slowly on the 23 and as a result we both had an infection after the birth.
We came home yesterday!

peaceloveandbiscuits · 29/05/2017 14:51

Hurrah Miss, been wondering how you were getting on.

gigi556 · 29/05/2017 15:01

Congratulations moo!

Glad you are home safe and sound :)

teenybean · 29/05/2017 16:00

Congratulations missmoo! Hope you're both ok now?

samatamfabahaba · 29/05/2017 16:38

I can't stop crying. Please tell me the old wives take is true and this is a sign? Started last night after a really lovely day, and I just feel absolutely awful today, crying for NO reason at all.

No other, actual medical signs I should add, just an emotional wreck!! 😂

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 29/05/2017 16:54

Congratulations missmoo! Hope you're feeling ok Flowers

Applesandpears23 · 29/05/2017 16:55

Yes I have been weepy too. I put on some sad tv and let it all out and then I felt better.

Date for ELCS set as 9th June as littlespace is transverse breech - the monkey. 11 days to go!!!!

M2R2 · 29/05/2017 18:59

Hello everyone, was hoping to find a thread about the horrible wait in the last few weeks.
I am due 7th if june, this is my third baby.
First baby was born at 42 weeks
Second was induced at 41 weeks
😢 midwife said most likely baby 3 will be late too.
I am starting to panic. I don't want to be late.
Been off work for couple of weeks bit bored at home to be honest.
I have been having a sharp pain when standing or walking and am scared that baby will just slip out. I know that's crazy specially that my first 2 labour was really hard.
