The wait for labour

Anyone up for a support thread for those of us waiting to go into labour? I am 37 +2 today. My first baby was born at 39 + 6 but I was in prelabour from 38 + 6. I am on maternity leave and I have lots of things I would like to do but nothing I really need to do. The bags are packed. Just waiting now. Anyone else?

Hi! Not posted on this thread before, but been lurking (stalking) you all for a while! I'm 39+4 today, currently bouncing away on my ball trying to encourage ANY form of movement!! The head is engaged and I can definitely tell something is changing inside me, but certainly nothing that'd make me rush for my hospital bag! It's so gorgeous outside I feel like we should be taking advantage of what is hopefully our last weekend as baby free and non walking zombies, but he's watching cricket and I'm fairly unwilling to put actual clothes on and go outside!!
I'm so excited, I can't believe how soon we'll be meeting this little bundle, but I just want it to start! I'm SO impatient, this wait is torturous isn't it?! I love reading all these posts though, it really helps to know how many of us there are out there!

Sounds exhausting jon Shock Sling? BrewCake

Oh god I have too much weird crazy energy today Confused

notasillysausage · 27/05/2017 14:28

Badgerbird I'm sure that's a sign labour is imminent?? Fingers crossed for you!

gigi556 · 27/05/2017 14:54

Rooting for you cel. Let's get you a baby!

Still no progress my end. I thought for sure baby was going to be early and now I'm 40+2, I'm convinced this is going to go on forever!

peaceloveandbiscuits · 27/05/2017 16:02

Jon I don't want to be reminded of that bit. Shhh.

mrspage1985 · 27/05/2017 16:25

Fingers crossed badger the energy burst is a sign!

Reflexology was amazing - feel so rested after it. She worked my cervix region on foot and the baby was going absolutely nuts in there - never been so painful for him to be moving. Also a part of the side of my foot is rather puffy which is the ureta tubes so fingers crossed it sparks some movement!!!

Good luck to all - hope there are some baby appearances over this bank holiday!! Xx

Finally, finally, finally. ''Twas a tough last 12 hours but he was very much worth the wait.

LikeaSnowflake · 27/05/2017 18:50

Congratulations 💐

giddyasakipper · 27/05/2017 19:22

Congratulations Cel - what a cutie!

MrsJW15 · 27/05/2017 19:32

Hi all, labour kicked in properly Wednesday night after a bath a long walk. Did well to start with but ultimately needed an emergency c section. Baby born late Thursday. We've both been unwell but are improving steadily. In hospital probably until Monday.

1stTimeRounder · 27/05/2017 19:38

Congrats Cel and MrsJW15... so excitìng to see 2 more babies joining the world.

My cramps have gone away so definitely nothing brewing here thankfully! Need to rest up plenty before the madness starts.

Anyone else struggling to sleep in the heat? In a mad pregnant woman act of desperation I went into the shed at 4am to dig out the fan as i was SO hot and couldn't sleep. My partner woke up very confused this morning as to where it had come from 😂

Applesandpears23 · 27/05/2017 19:54

Congratulations Cel and MrsJW.

i had a toddler in my bed all last night so I slept most of the morning. I am glad that the heat is going as jopefully my daughter will sleep better. I have begged my parents to take her for the day tomorrow so I can see if relaxing will bring on labour.

Congrats mrs, I hope you both feel better soon.

Badgerbird · 27/05/2017 21:05

cel yay!! Congratulations Smile

Just saw your post on other thread mrsjw :) pleased you're both in safe hands.

Glad your cramps calmed down 1st, gives you some time to rest.

Don't think my weird irritable energy was linked to labour today unfortunately mrspsge and giggi Sad Reckon it was just a late preggo thing. Meh! Doesn't she know she's booked in to arrive tomoz?!

Congratulations Cel & MrsJW15! Flowers two beautiful babas safely arrived - fantastic news!

Badger thank you so much for the tips but Shock at how much energy all of that requires! You are seriously a super woman!

I've had a handful of pretty painful contractions today but all seems to be slowing down this evening... the wait continues over here...

Jon seconding the sling?! But yeah, I'd forgotten about that bit too 😬 WineCakeFlowers

Big congrats to those that have had their babies

I had a growth scan last week and they estimated the baby is 7lb 10oz already so now I've finished work I want this baby out asap! Had a pretty horrific birth last time so am hoping it will be better this time with far less blood!

gigi556 · 28/05/2017 07:01

giddyasakipper · 28/05/2017 07:23

Meh Caip scan weight estimates are notoriously dodgy. Try not to worry. Baby is coming out one way or another, nothing we can do about it.

They told me DS would be 11lbs+ at term, so I begged my midwife to induce me at 38 weeks. She said baby felt perfectly average to her. He was born a nice easy 7lb15oz Smile
