Can ongoing brown discharge have a happy ending? :(

I'm scared.

Im 6-7 weeks pregnant according to my last period.

I had light brown mucus and stains last week.
Yesterday I had watery brown just once on the tissue when I wiped.
Today I've had mucusy dark brown stringy discharge nearly every time I wipe and the odd 5p Sized brown mark in pad.
I have back pain but it could be due to long day at work
I'm so upset and can't chill out

Can this have a happy ending. . ?

legend! Hi. good to hear from you!!

I am a bunch of nerves!! The brown discharge had gone and I've come home from work to a new kind if discharge.. Watery light pinky beige colour. Haven't had watery. And I'm back to panicking again.
Really hope its not thing but the nurse at epu said the spotting would stop in two days. That was nearly a week ago..not sure what to think!
How are you keeping hows things ? X

I'm back to stressing bad. I've had watery mixed with mucus ORANGE discharge all day. Its there everytime I wipe and in underwear.
What the hell is wrong with my body.
My nausea has vanished and I'm so scared again. :(

OP - I know you're worried but big deep breath. Try not to stress as it won't help - you'll feel worse if you keep focusing on this.
I had the exact same thing with my DC1. I was extremely upset and had a private scan at which I was told I wasn't pregnant as the sac was empty. DC1 is now 9! The reality is there is virtually nothing you can do to influence this, but you can manage your mind. Stay positive, rest and if the bleeding gets worse then go to the EPU.
Bright red blood is more concerning as it suggests a fresh bleed.
Brown / rusty coloured blood is old blood - it's most likely your body is cleaning itself up and it won't effect the pregnancy.
Sorry to provide a bit of tough love here but hope this helps.

I haven't had watery pink discharge but I had thick pale orange mucas for several weeks until about week 13. I assumed it was something to do with the mucas plug forming but I don't really know. It didn't seem to be anything problematic though.

I have just read through all this as I am going through a similar situation and I am panicking. I found out last week with a positive test, day after I started bleeding mixture between brown and red, I went to doctors who didn't seem overly concerned explained it could be implantation or worse case senario could be start of mc she rung epu while I was there who said they couldn't scan until I was 7 weeks, estimating that I'm around 5 week, I am currently still bleeding which is a constant worry, It seems to not be as much but I really have no idea. I have an appointment with midwife next Thursday so just hoping for the best! It's a nightmare a terrible worry. I already have a little girl who is 3 and half and I didn't have any bleeding with her she was a breeze! #worriedmummies! X

I think orange must be a mix of something - maybe old blood and creamier discharge.

As others have said this is just a horrible waiting game. You know that the pregnancy is in the right place which is their main concern at the moment. Unfortunately if the worst happens there's nothing that anybody can do at this point, so you have to just wait and see.

Little bits - lighter colours like pink, orange, these are less concerning because it's probably just little bits of blood, perhaps left behind after the other bleeding. I'm not sure why they said it will stop in 2 days, that seems unfair, because it will just worry you if it doesn't. I was told that they can't say but small amounts of blood are okay, it's if it's more than a normal period, then you should get checked.

I had a lot of pain at around six weeks and some discharge. At one point I was in so much pain that I threw up - it was awful and I thought something had gone badly wrong. It was all fine though. Best wishes OP, I remember how scary it is

Yes it was vaginal scan.

User I'm sorry you are going through the same its horrible. Impossible to ignore and not stress over isn't it x

Can you get a private scan any earlier or see if you can get a reassurance scan at EPU maybe at 9 weeks?

Some people have persistent bleeding when pregnant.

I had bleeding from 4-11 weeks with dd1 and 6-10 with dd2 (with another bleed at 25 weeks for some further stress and a hospital stay this time.) I don't think looking for a cause/ blaming it on vag cam etc is necessarily helpful. It can be all colours, I had pink, brown, prune juice, red. For some women this is how pregnancy is and it can take weeks to settle.

FWIW OP I remember reading on MN about a woman who had a miscarriage in the one pregnancy she didn't have bleeding . I know how stressful it is, hang in there

I spotted and bleed from 7 weeks to 17 weeks. DD is now 7 months old and fighting sleep! Stay positive

Sorry to haul up old thread.. I'm back again. Not long til my 12 WK scan. After the brown stopped for over a week. I've started pale red and pink watery stuff coming out.
I've cried so much.
I seen heart beat at the 5-6 week scan.
Does this mean anything.
This cant be normal. Im just getting ready to tell everyone. Its not dots. It like a watery period.

. Chances of anyone here had that and happy ending? Don't know what to do

How many weeks are you now
Let's look at the positives, you've seen the hb at 6 weeks and know the pregnancy is in the right place!
Can you ring the early pregnancy unit and ask for a scan?

I think around ten weeks.roughly.
Heartbeat is good right. But they can stop developing can't they. My nausea has gone too for a few days. I've just realised. Fuck

I had the same things as you've described Tatty up to around 15 weeks. Had an early scan at 10 weeks but it doesn't stop the worrying for more than a couple of days. I remember how stressed I was. Pregnancy symptoms came and went so we're never consistent. It's such a scary time. I know it's far easier said than done but eventually I came to realise that whatever was going to happen good or bad...there's nothing I can do to control it so I just let the worry wash over me, acknowledged i probably need to get used to being constantly worried from here on out but tried to enjoy the excitement of pregnancy as well. I know it's hard though. Hope you get reassurance soon

It's normal for nausea to come and go. Mine was worst during week as I was more tired. On a weekend my symptoms were less noticeable I think because I had more sleep.
Can you call the early pregnancy unit and try and get a scan? What about paying for a private one?

I will call Early pregnancy unit tomorrow . see what they say. Scared to pee coz don't want to wipe. Don't known wether to take time off work where I'll be on my feet all day.
Too few did u have heavy pink watery?

I did Tatty. First it was more brown then a week or so later it was more pink watery. Did you get through to the EPU this morning?

Epu going to scan me tomoz. Its gone back to brown all day and in the last ten mins its fucking red.dark red, bright red, basically a period. Its not going away. I feel tender on my tummy and I cant cope with the stress. I just cant lose this baby
