Can ongoing brown discharge have a happy ending? :(

I'm scared.

Im 6-7 weeks pregnant according to my last period.

I had light brown mucus and stains last week.
Yesterday I had watery brown just once on the tissue when I wiped.
Today I've had mucusy dark brown stringy discharge nearly every time I wipe and the odd 5p Sized brown mark in pad.
I have back pain but it could be due to long day at work
I'm so upset and can't chill out

Can this have a happy ending. . ?

yep, at weeks 3-8, 10, 12, 21, 31
and 39. she's currently 6 months old and resisting bed time :-) was
giving the explanation initially that it was an extra chorionic haematoma but apparently by 20 week scan it had gone but i still had some
bleeds. bled at 39
weeks and ended up being induced, never did discover why just i bleeds person i guess!

I had this from 5 weeks to 15 weeks. At 15 weeks they investigated properly and found I had ectropions on my cervix... no problems with baby at all. I had a scan at between 6-7 weeks it was abdominal but I had a very full bladder. They could see the heartbeat then.
I found it really scary and stressful as I thought I could mc at any time- sorry you are going through this. Good luck for tomorrow

countingdown2gin · 31/03/2017 19:48

I had brown spotting/discharge from 5 weeks to 13 weeks (with one big bleed and some pink discharge as well) I had several scans through my first trimester. I'm now 28 weeks and saw baby on a growth scan today. They are growing well and docs are happy.

They couldn't completely explain the bleeding but said I had some cervical ectrophy (sp?) hope that your scan goes well will keep everything crossed for you Flowers

Yes I had constant brown discharge from conception (ivf) with many bleeds in between. I bled a few times in the first tri (no reason), was ok from 14-23 weeks and then bled often from then on due to placenta praevia.
DS is now nearly 5.
Good luck Flowers

I had this at 5 weeks. I was terrified too, i had the internal scan and they picked up a heartbeat at 5 weeks. He's now a humungus one year old. Try to get some sleep. I remember the doctors saying that although any blood isn't normal, it is extremely common and brown blood is old blood and so a better sign than very new red blood.

DoodleFunker · 31/03/2017 22:06

Tatty No it's fine to ask (I didn't actually know what it was and didn't seek medical advice until my GP opened on the Monday morning - I had an appointment booked for the afternoon but the bleeding and pain became severe so I walked in to my surgery in the end). Severe, sharp pain (between my hip and my groin), it gradually got worse over the weekend. Sudden very heavy bleeding early on the Monday morning, fainting, vomiting, low blood pressure and a fast heart rate.

I know the internal scan sounds horrible, but I actually found it OK. It was a little uncomfortable but not painful (on reflection this may have been because I was in so much pain already).

The consultant is still one of the most loveliest people I have ever met. I've told her she's delivering my babies in the future. I was given so much compassionate care by the EPU staff.

I'll be thinking of you in the morning and sending good wishes your way xx

LottieL · 31/03/2017 22:21

Sending hugs and hopeful well wishes!

My first pregnancy had brown blood, followed the next day by bright red which was confirmed as a miscarriage.

Second pregnancy had brown discharge (sometimes stringy) for over a week that then settled. She is now 15 days old and asleep on me 🙂

I'm staying optimistic for you and I'm hoping for a good outcome tomorrow.

Hope everything is ok Flowers

Good luck for the scan today, I think you need to be prepared to not see much, because it depends on anatomy and where implantation is. If they can't see hb then they will get you back in a week or so.

In my case like others I had bleeding of all shades for weeks. They are now 8 and 5. I also remember that symptoms come and go because I drove myself crazy about this.

JulyLady7 · 01/04/2017 07:02

I hope all goes well this morning. Flowers

ArseyTussle · 01/04/2017 07:59

Good luck today Tatty. I had brown blood and a successful pregnancy, fingers crossed for you. Be prepared they may not get a heartbeat at that early stage.

AgainstTheOddsNo2 · 01/04/2017 08:01

I had this from about 6 weeks to about 13. I am now 18 weeks. At 12 week scan they said I had a small "bruise" on my uterus probably from implantation.
.good luck this am x

Sassenach85 · 01/04/2017 08:02

Good luck OP Flowers

MmmMalbec · 01/04/2017 08:05

I bled brown, pink and red between 5 and 7 weeks this time. I had a vag cam scan at 6 weeks and again at 7 and both times saw a little blob with a heartbeat. I'm now 18+6. Vag cam they will ask you to wee first, abdominal scan you'll need a full bladder. For my vag cams they covered me up with the blue roll so I couldn't see anything. I don't find them remotely painful, just a bit embarrassing. But it's nothing compared to labour or anything so might as well lose your dignity now Wink

Good luck OP xx

choccybiscuit · 01/04/2017 08:49

Keeping my fingers crossed for you xx

DuRezidal · 01/04/2017 08:53

Also don't be worried if you have done bleeding after it too. Every time I've had a scan I've had some light bleeding caused by irritating the cervix

DoodleFunker · 01/04/2017 09:34

Lots of luck and love today OP xxx

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 01/04/2017 10:50

Tattybogle89 · 01/04/2017 11:19

Its good neeeeews!!!

And I seen the heartbeat flicker Grin

Staff were lovely, I'm so so happy and I can sleep well tonight!

Heartbeat was good apparently, and plenty space around baby so that's a good sign they say.
They called it implantation hematoma very common apparently.

Phew!!

Thank you all so much for the support. We havent told anyone I'm expecting! So the chat good Smile Star xxx
