I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
links.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Hope work was ok ickle.

Lucy how awful about the prescription! Hope you're feeling less out of it now? Are the investigating? I know it's a cliche but I'm sure that you'll be just as head over heels no matter what sex the baby is.

Special I'm so sorry you're suffering. Please get yourself checked out soon?

RaeSkywalker · 13/07/2016 17:55

I've had a really hectic day at work, my feet barely touched the floor! I've started clearing the errors in our database that appeared whilst I was off, which makes me very happy (because I am a massive geek). Feeling so vey tired now though, I'm glad I'm leaving early tomorrow to have my whooping cough jab.

The en suite is coming along nicely, we bought the tiles about 18 months ago, so I had genuinely forgotten what colour they were! It was a nice surprise to come home from work to such good progress.

DH is out tonight so I need to prepare my own dinner. Not looking forward to it- food prep makes me heave!!

SpecialStains · 13/07/2016 18:37

I went to the gp and now have antibiotics for a UTI. Got myself a doughnut on the way back. Feel a bit happier with my doughnut!

Rae don't over do it at work! Hope you can forage something ok for dinner (boiled egg or beans on toast?).

LucindaE · 13/07/2016 20:46

Rae I hope you had a bearable dinner. I so agree with others, don't overdo it.
Lucy I hope you're feeling better. I so agree with others, you will adore a baby of either sex.
SecondStains Sorry to hear of UTI.

Special UTI snap. It's grim, I hope you feel better soon and the doughnut helps Grin

I had some pea and mint soup with bread. Really trying hard to get some vitamins into the baby!

Had a nice text from my boss earlier saying that the amount of work I've got done in the last week whilst feeling horrendous shows how good I am at my job- it's cheered me right up. I will try not to overdo it- I'm a bit of a 110mph person and genuinely struggle to walk away when a job needs to be done. I left at 4:30 today though!

icklekid · 14/07/2016 05:15

rae well done for leaving when you did, however given when you started that's still a long day! Your boss does sound very considerate just stuck between a rock (hr) and a hard place... glad they appreciate your effort though. What is this eating in the evening that you speak of? I'm lucky if I can keep down a piece of toast! I've given up trying though to be fair! Ensuite getting completed is exciting too- what colour are the tiles then?

special hope antibiotics kick in quickly. I have a uti at the start of pregnancy and it was horrible 😣 doughnut sounds good...not sure I could face a jam one though

lucy I had thought that I would be better with a dd when I had ds but he is so cuddly and so much fun I honestly wouldn't change him for the world! People keep asking if I would prefer a ds or a dd and whilst a dd would be lovely in some ways I think another ds would be easier! Boys are definitely cheaper at this age (there is less cute clothing!) but otherwise very similar. Ds loves playing with toy cars/trains but also toy kitchen, dolls house, will push a baby pushchair around for hours! Him and a friends dd are very similar and have a great time together.

special sorry to hear you feel so unwell- hoping if it's still as bad you are in hospital now. Pre-eclampsia is not something to be taken lightly...will be thinking of you though. As for baby looking like dh- ds didn't (and still doesn't!) Really look like either of us- he's a proper mix! Still gorgeous though! (Obviously totally unbiased opinion 😉)

Well I managed a managed a whole morning actually in work. One child asked why I was in if I had had the baby? Stared down at my gigantic bump and laughed saying did it look like I had had the baby? One of the TAs over heard and feel he may not live that comment down for a while! I got a lot of funny looks from kids who I think must have all assumed I'd had the baby because I was off- but no still tottering around being huge! Ds definitely watched more tv than normal this afternoon though because I wad exhausted (fell asleep!) And he was in a fussy mood- didn't want to do anything, took him to the park but didn't want to play for long so I gave up! He was typically good as gold when dh came home!

RaeSkywalker · 14/07/2016 06:57

ickle if helps I feel horrendous whilst eating? The tiles are kind of a light brown sandstone type colour. I knew I wanted that sort of look but I thought we'd gone for grey in the end for some reason.well done on your morning in work! You must have a very neat bump for a child to say that Smile That's how I'd be looking at it anyway!

I've got my whooping cough jab this afternoon. It's all fun and games being pregnant isn't it!

Hope that everyone else is ok today.

mrsmonkey14 · 14/07/2016 07:17

Hi everyone, sorry been quiet, been checking in from afar. Am in a funny old mood, can't process my thoughts about this imminent baby arrival, frenetically doing random stuff at home (nesting instinct I guess), don't want to speak to/see people. Feeling very anxious and in a lot of pain with pelvis/ sciatic nerve.

special you sound really poorly - hope you've managed to get to the right hosp? Pls take care. Would a taxi be an option if no lift available? Thinking of you.
ickle sorry to hear about DS having bug, not what you need! Is he on mend now? Well done for doing a morning in work.
lucy awful about the prescription!! What are you taking now? It's completely normal to have a wobble about gender. Both times I've been convinced I'm having a boy, and both times it's taken me a few days to be ok when I found out they're girls (not because I didn't want girls, but because I'd been envisaging boys iyswim), that's why I like to find out! Babies are great whichever sex they are! (Ickle is prob right about the clothes though - did I mention that I've got 19 PAIRS of 0-6m tights from DD for new baby?! I think I went bonkers and was obsessed with matching her outfits 😳)
rae I'm so sorry you've been forced back into work, I'm worried you'll end up in hospital again. It's really tough. I agree you must not trust them after this turn around, although good to hear your boss is supportive (mine wasn't!). It's very very difficult when you need the money and there's no sick pay, but ultimately you may not have a choice if you get really unwell. Impressed re soup and eating in evening, hopefully your sickness is now more manageable even though you're exhausted?
vixx I've been signed off for ages, about 4m in total I think. A lot depends on the job I think - I'm no use to them unless I can be there properly, whereas in other jobs even going in for a few hours is helpful from work's perspective. It was also impossible to do fewer hours in my job as was already Working 4 day week, they weren't interested in supporting me to do fewer hours and it's not the kind of job where people understand that you're not completely available. I'm very fortunate that having been there a long time I have benefitted from full sick pay (been on Mat leave since 36w as law says if you're off sick then you must start mat leave). Occupational health were involved but fortunately agreed completely I shouldn't be at work.
lucinda thanks for due date list and imminent new thread. I'm top of the list finally!!!!! Hurrah!

Sorry to hear about UTIs and apologies to everyone I've missed.

Xx

Everyone,
Sorry about this. Someone tried a scam on my PC this morning, and it's acting oddly. It's just pasted something it shouldn't on here, the introductory messsage twice. I've just created a new thread, and it won't let me copy the link.
Vixxx went over, or I would delete it, and make another new one.
Leaves, flapping and clucking.

Back again. I sent a message to Vixx and reported the problem again to BT. Definitely something weird going on. i'm a bit worried Vixx has got lost, though.
Here's the link for the new thread, this one being nearly full.
I just hope it works!

I can't do this. I can't cope. I'm vomiting all day / night. Haven't kept anything down today. Now I have a bit of diarrhea too. Feel I should go to the hospital but I would have to get a taxi there and I'm just not able for that right now. Travel makes the sickness worse. Feel like a big sweaty, mess.

icklekid · 17/07/2016 05:08

Jodders come and join us on the new thread (link just above your post)
We have all been there and know the not able to cope feeling so so well. Can you check your ketones? It does sound like it would be worth going to hospital as if diarrhoea continues can dehydrate very quickly. How far are you from the hospital? Do you have any friends who won't care about you being a mess but just want to make sure your ok. If I was nearby I would come!!! (Your not in east midlands are you?!) Take care and keep us updated as to how you are doing

KailaLeigh01 · 26/01/2021 10:46

Is this thread still active? I'm nearly 7 weeks pregnant and I'm throwing up every 20 minutes or so. Medication and injections aren't helping. I'm so miserable I can't imagine another 33 weeks of this. I had a severe phobia of sick before I fell pregnant so you can imagine how scared I am :(
