Jenjen yes I think I am losing my mind! Just so over the waiting now!

I also have insomnia. Just so cruel that we all can't sleep when most need to!

Sunflower2016 · 25/01/2016 05:06

Been awake for hours Sad so tired.. My pelvic pain is through the roof.. Going to the loo feels like a special manoeuvre Blush now .. And my back - ouchy! Hope you all got some sleep Thanksx

MaisieDotes · 25/01/2016 08:25

Hi all. Sorry to those who can't sleep Sad

I'm 39+5 today so this is the longest I've ever been pregnant.

blerg I hope today is the day.

Runningupthathill82 · 25/01/2016 08:28

40+2 here. Pretty much constant period-pain ish cramping since 4.30am, but no real contractions.
Am so pissed off!! All advice welcome...

LibertyBelles · 25/01/2016 08:34

Sorry to hear that running - no advice since this is baby number one - but I had that all last week and it amounted to nothing - 40 on the dot today and nothing to report, even the aches have stopped! Angry off to my 40 week appointment middle of the day where I plan to ask for a sweep and hope it works fingers crossed come on babies Confused

Runningupthathill82 · 25/01/2016 08:43

Hope your sweep is more successful than mine, Liberty!

Blerg · 25/01/2016 08:53

Thanks Maisie! I had v mild contractions overnight every 10 mins (so no sleep) but gone now. So annoying.

Come on babies!

LibertyBelles · 25/01/2016 09:05

Argh blergh that's so annoying! Fingers firmly crossed it picks up again

Jenjen86 · 25/01/2016 12:01

I was really hoping for a Burns night baby! But alas, still no signs. I felt sick and had tummy ache earlier but that's gone away. I feel like my body is teasing me.
Good luck with the sweep today, I know a few people who have said it worked really well for them.
Blerg I am keeping everything crossed for.you, you must be going nuts! Btw all the cake emoji on here yesterday got me to send OH out for cake so I am gonna sit my butt down and eat some cake. Nothing cheers you up like cake :) Cake

LibertyBelles · 25/01/2016 12:03

Couldn't do a sweep, cervix unfavourable :(!! Midwife doesn't think baby will come before 41 weeks as she doesn't think cervix will change much before then Sad

Runningupthathill82 · 25/01/2016 12:06

Don't read anything into that, Liberty! In my first pregnancy, I was told my cervix was "unfavourable" about 12 hours before I went into labour.
On the other hand, this time round I was 2cm dilated and had a proper sweep a week ago, but it's done nothing to hurry things along...

LibertyBelles · 25/01/2016 12:09

Thanks feeling a bit down now! Was told cervix was 2cm long, unfavourable and very posterior so not sounding great - looking like a Feb baby!

Jenjen86 · 25/01/2016 12:19

Liberty I'm sorry to hear that but please don't despair I've read so many stories online where people were told this and then went into labour. My friend was told she was 2cm dilated and would have a really long labour and out popped the head 15 mins later. Flowers

LibertyBelles · 25/01/2016 12:22

Didn't help that midwife was really grumpy and cross

mrsjskelton · 25/01/2016 13:11

Hang in there everyone, we're all a day closer! Thanks

Hello - jumping in here, I am also on the Jan thread as my due date is Friday, thus making me an impostor as not technically overdue yet but I do feel like I've been pregnant for approximately 100 months and I'm tired and want to meet my baby! It's my first so I'm like an excited yet impatient puppy.

Question: what should I expect at my 40w midwife appointment? I'd quite like them to see how my cervix is - should I request that or will they do it as standard?

Another question: is 40+14 the latest they will start labour on? Or is it the latest day you can expect to have baby in your arms? As daft as this sounds I am trying to identify if there's any chance my baby could be a Valentine's baby... that would put me at 40+16 though - even though I'm under 40yo I'm sure they wouldn't allow anyone to get that far.

Pregnancy - so much information but so little we actually know, eh?

LibertyBelles · 25/01/2016 13:56

Hi 2manysweets from my understanding no one will check you at 40 weeks unless you ask. My midwife only did because the consultant asked her too (and she was clearly pissed off about it). My understanding for the second bit is that they will let you go to 42 weeks naturally (or 40+14) but might set an induction date before that

BeeMyBaby · 25/01/2016 14:03

Just to say I had a baby boy yesterday at 40+6 so I now get to leave the overdue group Grin

2ManySweets · 25/01/2016 14:03

Oh wow. Thanks liberty, I just assumed that they would have a rummage around up there just to see if there was anything moving/changing at all to at least allow the individual to have an idea what's going on in there.

MaisieDotes · 25/01/2016 14:06

Congratulations bee!!!!! Smile Flowers

How did you get on?

Runningupthathill82 · 25/01/2016 14:06

Congratulations, BeemyBaby!

emm2016x · 25/01/2016 14:08

Hello ladies, im 40+2 and it's just literally a waiting game for me. I struggle to turn in the night making sleep one of the hardest tasks atm so end up snoozing in the day which I hate doing. I feel so uninterested in everything right now except sleeping and eating!
I have a midwife appointment on Wednesday which she said she will talk to me about the sweep so I guess I'll be going for that as it looks at the moment. No immediate pains just little one having fun moving around in there lol

Hope everyone's having a good day and some sleep Flowers

LibertyBelles · 25/01/2016 14:09

Congrats Bee

LibertyBelles · 25/01/2016 14:11

2manysweets I don't think it's normal, midwife seemed shocked and annoyed she had to have a look which makes me think it's not normal policy to have a look. Tbh just made me feel bad about lack of progress so might be better to just wait and let nature take its course?
