Come on ladies, how are you feeling?
40+3

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
cremedecacao · 02/03/2016 16:33

I've been doing lots of cooking and cleaning too- good for keeping on my feet. But I've been on mat leave for nearly a month so getting very bored! I had been swimming but I feel like it's a bit too close for the pool now.

ATrueNerd · 02/03/2016 21:12

Hi can I join please?! I'm 40+10, nearly 11.. Really can't believe it, it's my third and the first two were born at 40+3 so was expecting similar. I feel fine really but getting worried he's not coming out for a reason, like there's something stopping him.. Midwife examined me today and said a sweep wouldn't be possible because head is still too high and cervix thick Sad

MidnightRun · 03/03/2016 01:35

Woke up about an hour ago with a gush of waters.. No contractions but the waters just keep on leaking! DH was sound asleep and don't have the heart to wake him until things start.. And I can't sleep because I'm too bloody nervous excited.. Ahhh!!

fififolle · 03/03/2016 07:18

Ooh how exciting midnight! Wishing you all the best for today and looking forward to hearing your exciting news.

cremedecacao · 03/03/2016 10:16

Good luck Midnight! Sounds like this is it.

ATrue- I feel EXACTLY the same. I keep wondering why things aren't happening. I've lost my plug so why is my cervix still so high and why isn't baby fully engaged and ready to go yet? None of it makes any sense to me!

ATrueNerd · 03/03/2016 11:27

Exciting midnight! Hope all goes well today.

At least you've lost your plug Creme, I've not even done that... Feeling lots of pressure and achiness down low today but it's probably just a poo! Been fooled by that most days!

cremedecacao · 03/03/2016 14:03

Me too! Lost plug during and after first sweep (second was unsuccessful) but nothing else happened.

Went to visit a baby friend today for a whinge and to cuddle her 12 week old. Feeling a little brighter now. Was hoping cuddling a baby might help haha!

HJBeans · 03/03/2016 18:51

Sorry you weren't able to get your sweep, cremed. How disappointing when you thought things had progressed.

I was 90% sure my waters had started leaking two days ago at just the time I had my first ever ocular migraine - so flashing lights in vision then going blind. I of course flipped out and rushed into maternity triage, where they spent many hours ensuring there was no sign of pre-e and checking baby was ok. Was told if I was leaking fluid I could likely be admitted and have a section just then - which gave me real hope I might leave with a baby. But they found no evidence of leakage so here I am two days later and no closer. Sigh, moan, grumble.

Anyone else hugely exhausted? Also, anyone else's baby much more active than usual? Hoping it's a sign of things starting, but have no faith left...

MidnightRun · 03/03/2016 23:40

Baby midnight arrived this afternoon weighing 7lbs 3oz after gas,air and morphine in the midwife suite. Couple of stitches so we've been kept in the labour ward overnight.

I was not aware of some of the noises I could make!

HJBeans · 04/03/2016 09:54

Congratulations! :-)

PixieMiss · 04/03/2016 10:22

Congrats midnight

Anyone mind if I join? I am only 39+5 but after weeks of being told that I will be early by everyone from my midwife to the NCT teacher I am royally fed up Hmm

Had BH since 28 weeks but apart from that, I don't feel that I am going to give birth at all soon Sad

cremedecacao · 04/03/2016 15:55

You never know Pixie. Start relaxing about it now though. I'm sure my lack of labour at 41+1 is due to me stressing about being on time.

Congrats Midnight- such good news!

HJBeans · 04/03/2016 16:19

I feel the same, cremed - I'm so stressed about it not happening and various risks increasing as time goes on that I'm sure he'll never come. Have worked myself into a proper state of full-blown anxiety.

But people have children in war zones and I'm willing to bet they're even more stressed than I am. Mantra at the moment: I can't be pregnant forever. (And repeat, until I believe it.)

cremedecacao · 04/03/2016 17:08

I've been feeling really low and anxious too, but it won't help us! I have had a good go at self induction today (got to be more pro active and positive!):

Pineapple for breakfast
2 hours shopping, taking steps and no lifts/escalators
A spicy lunch
Expressing in a dark room with clary sage in my diffuser and clary sage massage oil on my bump for a good hour
A pint of raspberry leaf tea

I am now about to do some vigorous housework until DH comes home. We'll have dinner and watch a lovely film and I might even persuade him to have sex with me (in default manatee position)!

Points for trying?!

HJBeans · 04/03/2016 17:24

You win on late pregnancy proactivity! To make up for a long morning nap, I took an afternoon walk and am now having a single cup of raspberry leaf tea.

cremedecacao · 04/03/2016 17:49

Nap sounds likes a good plan!

HJBeans · 04/03/2016 23:18

Things seem to starting here. Suddenly terrified of VBAC. But more excited that it's finally time - maybe. Fingers crossed

fififolle · 05/03/2016 03:15

Beans how exciting! Keep us posted. You'll do brilliantly Smile.

fififolle · 05/03/2016 03:18

Congrats Midnight!*

cremedecacao · 05/03/2016 13:24

Any news Beans?

HJBeans · 05/03/2016 16:19

Seems to be following the pattern of my first birth with long and painful prodomal labour that doesn't get anywhere. On 15th hour now of unproductive contractions every 10-15 minutes and feeling hugely demoralised.

cremedecacao · 05/03/2016 23:03

Don't give up! You are so close!

HJBeans · 06/03/2016 18:43

Baby beans arrived today. Worth the wait. Smile

fififolle · 07/03/2016 07:38

Congratulations beans! Superb news

cremedecacao · 07/03/2016 11:41

Congratulations Beans Smile
