Congratulations Marie. What exciting news for you.

LemonTart · 05/01/2007 09:29

wow!!!! Just read this thread marie - TWINS?!! AAAAAGGGH!!!
Fantastic news, I am getting excited for you just reading your posts full of happiness and excitement. So so so pleased your mum is on your side with this one - was worried how the thread would end after reading the first part!
You MUST take it easy - that means NO lifting anything too heavy, SLEEP and REST when you need it etc etc. I was rubbish at doing as I was told when pregnant with my DD1 and once she arrived (safely) I realised instantly how precious she was and how angry I was at myself for taking so many risks (little sleep, working late, rearranging furniture rather than wait for DH to come home etc!). Don?t take any chances, look after your body and your babies.
WOW
Now...have you started to think about names?? I bet mumsnet will give you plenty of "advice" over that one! We all like a good debate over whether a name is cute/cool or crass!
Do keep posting. Being pregnant can be so emotionally draining and can make you feel like no-one out there can possibly feel like you do but there are loads of us

LemonTart · 05/01/2007 09:30

oops - don?t know where that grin emoticon appeared from?!!

marie22 · 05/01/2007 09:43

thanks lemon tart!
im supposed to be going be to college soon but i might have to put it off for now. i am doing an animal care course so some of it is physical so i might have to stop those lessons but i could carry on the assignments i guess. As for the sleeping thing i dont no if its because im excited or just pregnancy but im having trouble sleeping at night. i guess that will change when they start growing because from what iv read it sounds like hard works!

College- Chat to them and see what you can do about part time etc. My uni is being fantastic this year and I think it is worth it rather than feeling like you are wasting time not doing much. I would have thought with animal care there is a lot you can still do this year and after the summer your DTs will be at a quite nice age for creche if need be. When are you due to start your course? Personally I have kept up fine with work and been to all my lectures right up until the holidays although towards the end it did get tiring. Of course that is just with one, I imagine you will tire more easily with 2!

As for sleep, you'd have thought our bodies would let us get lots of sleep in preparation for the utter sleep deprivation after but no. I think one of the best things I have invested in this entire pregnancy though is my sleep pillow. I got one of the long squishy sausage shaped ones rather that one with a pad for the bump and I love it so much, really helped to sleep better even before I had much of a bump. If its any consolation at 41 weeks I am currently sleeping like a log. Well, apart from at least 5 or so toilet trips!

Oh and afternoon naps are the way forwards.

marie22 · 05/01/2007 10:45

i am in the last year of my college course so it shouldnt be to much of a problem when they are born as i will be looking for a job once iv gotten them settled. the only thing i am considered about will be the actually bump and college as alot of my classes are far apart so its alot of walking. the first doctor i seen thought i was 16 weeks from lookin and feelin my belly but the scan showed i am 9 weeks! so i can only imagine wot i will look like by the end of my course in july! I might get mistaken for one of the potty belly pigs! lol

i hope everything goes well with the pregnancy and make sure you take it very easy.... being big in summer is tough so don't be afraid to admit you need to rest and make sure to keep your fluids up.

i'm so excited for you!

marie22 · 05/01/2007 13:33

thanks! im sitting in bed writing this with my mum (bless her) running round getting me food and making sure im comfortable! im not looking forward to the summer! i normally get over heated so i cant even imagine wot its going to be like when im the size of a bus lol i am already having to look at maternty wear!

OP posts:

He he very good excuse to get a bit of pamperng in then!

Sure your course will be fine, most tutors tend to be really understanding.

Enjoy your bed rest!
