I'm due on Sunday and thought it'd be nice to see if anyone else is due soon?

How are you all feeling? This will be my second and we've been told it's a girl. If anyone's around and fancies a moan chat about this last stretch, step forward!!

No signs for me either! Was suppose to go to the hospital for my sweep but the midwife actually called me and said she would come to my house so just waiting for her to appear at some point today!

Coney although painful, I would definitely say they are good signs! Clara there is still a good few hours for things to swiftly change and you can go on the MLU.

I will let you know what the midwife says!

clarabell4680 · 19/07/2015 13:27

Thanks Laura! I know...everyone keeps telling me that signs can literally come from nowhere and start so got to hope that happens!!
Good luck with the sweep, I hope it works for you. Let us know when she's been! X

coneywonder · 19/07/2015 13:37

My midwife said you can still use MLU with the pessary don't lose hope. One of them bad boys can get your labour going in a few hours xx

laura825 · 19/07/2015 13:51

Midwife has just left she attempted to do a sweep but said my cervix are still high and under the baby's head so a sweep wouldn't be any good. I have to see her again on Tuesday if I can get an appointment, if not it will be induction but not until next Sunday :(
She said she is doubtful anything will happen on its own over the next couple of days at least before seeing her again! Bloody typical!

clarabell4680 · 19/07/2015 14:18

Oh good to know Coney...I am hoping that I can as it is so nice!!! Be such a shame not to be in there! How's your pains now? Are you taking it easy?

Oh Laura...that is frustrating! :( how many days over are you again? A week away sounds ages doesn't it...but hopefully something will happen next week. I have no idea about my cervix as not had a sweep so no idea, but I assume mine is high as no signs? But I will find out Tuesday when they check it before induction!

I now sometimes wish I had a cesarean booked at 39 weeks and it's all be done with now!!

LostSoulsForever · 19/07/2015 14:34

Try & stay positive ladies.
I know you would prefer the MLU Clarabell but on the bright side, one way or another, you will be getting newborn cuddles in just a few days time! That is so exciting!
Coney, hopefully the uncomfortable pelvis & thighs are signs as a result of your sweep! Fingers crossed it gets things going :)
Laura, sorry to hear you have to wait a bit longer to have your sweep - hopefully it will do the trick on Tuesday & will be all stations go!
No change here for me. Usual cramps, a bit of a show but nothing significant, also shooting pains down one leg which is a bit weird!

clarabell4680 · 19/07/2015 15:23

Thanks LS...I'm trying to stay positive and like you said in a few days it should all be done with!! I'm just so impatient! ;)

How far gone are you now LS? I have had that shooting pains down the leg thing too...I'm sure it's where he sits on a nerve or it's his head on my cervix that then gives me the pains!!

coneywonder · 19/07/2015 16:17

laura I totally know how you feel that was me only on wednesday and then on Saturday I was/am 1cm dilated and fully effaced so a lot can change in a few days.

lostsouls yeah I think it must be getting about now is so hard. Just went to tesco and was literally a hobble waddle woman.

clara things could change for you before induction you never know! But either way like ls said we will have our babies by the end of the week. I might end up being induced yet too!!! My.midwife did say if that happens just ask to use birthing centre and see what they say they won't be used to people asking!!

I'm so scared because baby is back to back that I don't want to sit down because midwife said to be on my hands and knees a lot and to lean over my ball but it's so just painful to do that. I'm just going to have to grin and bare it for as long as I can.

clarabell4680 · 19/07/2015 18:25

Thanks Coney....may try and DTD soon wih hubbie see if that does anything? Then a nice warm bath!
Try not to worry too much about back to back...you can't be on your hands and knees all day?! You also need to relax and rest. I hope he turns the other way...when will they check again? X

LostSoulsForever · 19/07/2015 18:38

I am just 40+3 so not too bad, but also impatient so it is driving me a little mad. And soooooo many people said 'you are always earlier with your second' which kind of got my hopes up. Have a sweep on Tuesday but was hoping something would happen before then.
With my first it seemed to come from nowhere but with this one I have been having cramps, bits of show etc for over a week so totally different to last time, which is also frustrating me!

coneywonder · 19/07/2015 20:18

clara sorry if this is prude but my midwife said lie with cushions under your bum after dtd and stay there for a while and leave the sperm to ripen your cervix. I'm sure this is what has made mine go from unfavourable to 1cm in 3 days. Might be worth a try.

Yeah they are going to check at the scan I pressume. 2 midwives have said it is back to back and 1 said it wasn't but we shall see I think he or she is...but I don't know.

I feel quite excited tonight and very weepy knowing that labour will happen this week no matter what and also that I'll have my baby. Crazy.

clarabell4680 · 19/07/2015 20:43

Thanks Coney... We didn't do it in the end!! We just both didn't feel comfortable enough as my bump is literally so big and baby was going a bit mad! So we left it! But thanks for the tip! Fingers crossed when you have your scan! Let us know.
I've been emotional for days now...excited and nervous and just want it to be Tuesday now to get things going!!
Going to have a bath now see if it relaxes me a bit! X

coneywonder · 19/07/2015 21:11

If you have lavender oil put that in it! Amazing and relaxing. :)

clarabell4680 · 19/07/2015 21:43

Can you believe I don't like the smell of lavendar!! Trust me...& I'm rubbish at relaxing, maybe that's why ha ha! Think I'm going to have a restless nights sleep next 2 nights!!

clarabell4680 · 19/07/2015 21:44

Actually...I don't sleep well anyway now so I meant.. Even more restless night than usual if possible!!

coneywonder · 19/07/2015 21:58

Haha my DP keeps telling me off for not relaxing and I keep telling him I have forgotten how!! I do understand why you don't like lavender it is a bit old age pension.

Also, would you be worried if your feet had got very swollen? They were yesterday a little bit but now it's a bit ridiculous I can feel the fluid in them to touch. I had my blood pressure done yesterday and it was fine but she didn't dip my wee.I've got no other signs of pre e but I'm a bit worried...

coneywonder · 19/07/2015 22:15

*pensioner

I answered my own question and phoned my mums midwife friend (bless her for not being mad this time on a Sunday ha) and she said it's fine as long as I have no other symptoms

clarabell4680 · 19/07/2015 22:27

Oh yeah I have always been rubbish at relaxing at the best of times... So this is really hard! It's a constant worry isn't it!!
Then they tell you to be as relaxed as possible when giving birth...yeah right!!

Glad you rang your midwife friend...always best to check and yeah as long as no other symptoms it's fine i am sure. It's been quite warm today too...my feet swelled a little the other day when it was hot...then went down again.
Oh roll on babies being here please!!! Can't take much more!

coneywonder · 19/07/2015 22:34

We sound very similar haha. I keep wanting to say "how can I be relaxed when I'm about to give birth and I have no control over how it happens!?" Haha yes come on babies let's get cracking!!

clarabell4680 · 19/07/2015 23:00

I know...we are very alike aren't we! Yeah I am the same I keep reading books that say 'just let go and trust your body' and the pain is a healthy pain..?! I will try and remember that when I am screaming for an epidural ;)
I've got so much pelvic pain tonight where he keeps bouncing on cervix i assume as he is really low and engaged, I just keep telling him to keep going and come out!! He isn't listening ... Yet!!

coneywonder · 19/07/2015 23:03

Haha someone said to me that baby will only come when happy and relaxed I felt like smacking them in the chops and saying as if! But thanks for making me feel like I'm failing at going into labour!

That's good that you can feel him lower down not that your in pain though! I can't believe we are both still pregnant if I'm honest!!

laura825 · 20/07/2015 08:21

Morning, sorry for the lack of response. I'm 41 + 1 now so a little bit behind you guys. I hope you may have had some progress over night I was getting some intense cramps but again leads to nothing! Just tried to get in to see my midwife 2moro like she said and now can't see her til Thursday its ridiculous one midwife at my surgery which covers a massive area and she's only there 2 afternoons a week! Will be considering making a complaint once little one is finally here! Anyway apologies for the rant first thing!
Anyone got any plans today? coney is it your scan today? Hope all goes well if it is!

LittleMiss77 · 20/07/2015 08:31

Clara - i asked repeatedly for an epidural and never got one! "lets see how you are in an hour..." the midwife said. After a number of hours of this response i really lost the plot - by which time it was too late!

Im hoping today brings news of new babies for you all! Thanks Thanks

We're sitting in all day to wait for the health visitor who is coming to do a heel prick test (I will not cry, i will not cry...) and to let us know how we're getting on with our weight as its looking like we might have lost too much.

Im trying to breastfeed but it really isnt going very well at all Sad

coneywonder · 20/07/2015 09:34

Ah laura you sound fed up. How annoying is that stop start pain? I was told that its never false labour and that pain is always doing something whether it be toning your uterus or dilating your cervix so don't be too disheartened. I would consider making a complaint too if I were you though I am about a very long winded story that happened at the start of my pregnancy that's for sure.

Yeah I have a scan, another sweep and some monitoring today. There's a chance they could tell me they want to induce me today if something calls for it so I'm a bit nervous. Im getting a bit scared now of what it's all going to be like.

littlemiss I keep thinking about how I'm going to react with the baby having to have injections and heel pricks I'm such a wuss but when it's happening to your baby... :( hopefully the HV will be able to give you some good advice on the breastfeeding. I plan on doing that too.

clarabell4680 · 20/07/2015 10:23

Morning all! Still no signs here! So just going to try and relax today and not think about tomorrow!!

Coney..I can't believe we are both still waiting either!! How you feeling? Good luck with the scan and everything today!!

Oh Laura that is really bad! They're supposed to see you as close to 41 weeks as possible so they can book induction etc..I would complain if I'm honest! Not fair on you.

Littlemiss...I can't believe they wouldn't give you an epidural! I actually want to try and hold off on having one but I have no idea what my pain threshold is like!! Probably pretty rubbish but then I just read about the maternity unit I want to be in if I can...and they don't offer epidural...eek!! So I would just have to deal with gas and air!!
