I'm due on Sunday and thought it'd be nice to see if anyone else is due soon?

How are you all feeling? This will be my second and we've been told it's a girl. If anyone's around and fancies a moan chat about this last stretch, step forward!!

Congratulations Scorpio Thanks Thanks Thanks

Bobian123 · 15/07/2015 08:35

Congrats Scorpio, but sorry you had a terrible time of it Flowers

Our little girl arrived this morn at 4.01am! Went into hospital last night and was 2-3cm so mw offered a sweep. I just went for it, and it started working almost straight away. I asked for an epidural and practically kissed the guy when he came to do it!

Once that kicked in, things were generally pretty easy. She was out in three pushes. It's my second so I think that helped, but I also just had absolutely no expectations. First time round I wanted to hypnobirth-this time I was down with the drugs :-)

Sending masses of luck to all of you, it really won't be long before you're deliriously knackered happy! Xx

Congrats bobian and scorpio!

Good luck to those having a sweep today - look forward to hearing the progress today!

I really don't know what to do for the best now, feel like I am on a countdown and trying to stay calm to allow it to happen naturally but that threat of induction is always in the back of my mind. Driving me crazy!

villainousbroodmare · 15/07/2015 10:06

I'm hoping to be induced, not feeling threatened! Grin

coneywonder · 15/07/2015 10:32

I can't take another night of pain with my pelvis and one sided crampyness on my bump i am an emotional witch today! God help us all if she says my cervix is unfavourable! ! Xx

laura825 · 15/07/2015 11:37

I am also feeling emotional today Coney, had a meltdown earlier for no particular reason. Hope your sweep goes well, what time is it? I have mine 2moro, although still undecided as I found a smear unbearable!

coneywonder · 15/07/2015 12:04

Ah I'm scared about it if I'm honest. I've never had a sweep, not because I refused one but because I turned 25 when pregnant so they are going to do one after baby. It's at 12:40 I think if your cervix is favourable then it won't hurt just be uncomfortable. I'm having dull aches for about an hour

clarabell4680 · 15/07/2015 12:31

Good luck ladies with your sweeps!
Just saw my lovely midwife and she was find about me not having a sweep. She said baby seems happy and comfy in there so give it another week for him to come naturally... But induction is booked for next Tuesday morning if nothing happens! Eek...but she told me to stop reading horror stories on inductions as sometimes people just need a kick start to go into labour and it can be a good experience also if uncomplicated, I can still use birthing pool! So just a matter of waiting now!

laura825 · 15/07/2015 12:42

Clara I thought you couldn't use a birthing pool with induction, this is a massive fear of mine I'm desperate to have a water birth. I also turned 25 while being pregnant Coney, but my doctors tried to do one last summer and they just couldn't do it. Sad I'm sure like I said if your cervix are favourable it won't hurt as much. Let us know how you get on.

Clara, what was your due date again? Mine was Sunday so wondering if my midwife will give me a date for induction 2moro or if she will wait.

NKfell · 15/07/2015 12:44

I was excited about having a sweep (well, the result not the sweep itself) but my midwife said the same as yours clara oh well, I guess it gives me more time to try and pick a name!

coneywonder · 15/07/2015 13:12

Mines too high and closed for a sweep got another one booked on Saturday and if that doesn't work they want to induce me Tuesday but I said I didn't want to be she said that was fine and I'd have to go in for monitoring. Had a mega cry

clarabell4680 · 15/07/2015 13:18

Laura...midwife said as long as the induction sets off labour naturally and I don't have to have the drip kept in, I can still use the pool she said. So fingers crossed! I was due on 8th July so induction would be at 41+6

Nkfell - true! We have time for natural labour to start yet so fingers crossed.

Coney - don't cry, you did what is right for you so hopefully labour will start naturally sooner rather than later x

NKfell · 15/07/2015 14:59

Don't be sad coney ! Clara's right, you've done what's right for you and remember what that first midwife said to me- with all the will in the world you won't be able to keep the baby in so baby will definitely be along soon, try not to worry.

My first was a day early, my second was 2 days late and this one...well, a week on and this baby has well and truly found his chill.

NKfell · 15/07/2015 15:00

Oh and fingers crossed for you Clara, Laura and of course you Coney and anyone else currently the size of a gable end!

clarabell4680 · 15/07/2015 15:03

Thanks NKfell :) I am so hoping he comes before then, I have told him induction is booked, so he needs to get a move on... hope he's listening! ;)
Good luck to you too!

coneywonder · 15/07/2015 15:10

Thanks ladies. No idea why I'm finding this so hard. I'm genuinely so down which is ridiculous because I'm about to have a baby. Haha.

I'm just hoping my cervix changes soon!! Good luck to everyone else we can do thisssss!!

clarabell4680 · 15/07/2015 15:25

Coney - It is those good old hormones! I am crying at anything at the moment and one moment I am raging about something ridiculous then I am fine... so up and down. It is a major emotional time and basically we all just want our babies here and the waiting is hard!I hope you see some signs soon! I am off for a long walk in a bit, got to try anything now to try and avoid this induction!

coneywonder · 15/07/2015 15:29

My midwife to have a lot of sex. She said it's the only one of the old wives tales that actually does work in her opinion. She said the hormone in the pessary used in induction is found in sperm. I'm definitely going to try it! Even though it's very uncomfortable. My hormones are awful I was so.blunt on the phone to my mum before I've had to txt to apologise because I knew if I rung back I'd cry haha.

coneywonder · 15/07/2015 15:30

Oh and clara is your induction booked for Tuesday? That's when they want to do mine. If we both go for it at least we can try and keep each other company!

NKfell · 15/07/2015 15:51

Oh great well I'm snookered then! DP absolutely refuses...Don't worry though, I'm going to remember this when baby's here and I'm settled.

DD is 2yrs old and has pet snails (don't ask) anyway, she accidentally dropped one on the grass and even though he/she/it is completely fine- I cried. I just imagined how scared he/she/it might have been. DP was saying "you've gone mad- you didn't cry at Schindler's List but you'll cry at dropping a snail?"- in my defence, I was not the size of a house when we watched that. The thought of it right now makes my nose tingle!
