i am not pregnant. well i dont think i am. but you know, uits entirely possible to do thing with a VAD in place

which leaves me in a pickle. MAP or not? i have never used it. never had reason to.

i dont know if i entirly belive in it.

but now isnt the right time for an accident. i know that and dh knows that. but the overwhealming feeling by both of us, is to leave it and wait and see. but i dont know if i can. the fall out would be massive. we'd get a ticking off by the health professionals and our families.

and then there is the practicalities, we'd need a bigger car. we'd eventually have to move.

argh.
tell me to be sensible.

and do tesco pharmancy sell the MAP?

Urgh, you have my sympathy. My dim and distant memory of the MAP, I never felt so sick in all my life...

noddyholder · 08/10/2006 14:03

Blimey Misdee I am just happy for you to have had this glimpse of normality in your lifeI rarely had sex whilst on dialysis as I had no energy or drive but on the occasions I did I felt on top of the world because I felt like I was still like everyone else in a small way I bet Peter feels really optimistic today You both deserve that cal soon xxxxxx

noddyholder · 08/10/2006 14:03

call

SPACEdoutzombieCADET · 08/10/2006 14:07

i remember when i took the map, it was like morning sickness

misdee · 08/10/2006 14:08

thanks noddy.

feel a touch of guilt over MAP, but i didnt really have much choice really. i had to be sensible for all of us. even dh said in the end that we had to be sensible.

hopfully we will get a chance later on.

GeorginaA · 08/10/2006 14:10

You have to make the best choice for you and your family, misdee. No guilt required whatsoever.

LadyTophamHatt · 08/10/2006 14:12

misdee, I took the MAP before I fell PG with ds3 and it didn't amke me ill at all.

years ago I took it and I could hardly stand up because I was so ill.

I think they've improved them to stop the sickness...

misdee · 08/10/2006 14:29

oh good. so far i feel ok.

misdee, did you get anything else down the chemists - you know for a repeat performance? DH knows what he has been missing now dosen't he?!

misdee · 08/10/2006 15:26

oh no, i dont think we will be repeating that for a while, but there are some condoms around here somewhere.

which leads me to another q, i have never taken the pill before, as dont trust myself to remember to take it everyday. obviously we need to get things sorted for now, but what would you recomend?

OP posts:
BATtymumma · 08/10/2006 15:35

depo jab worked for me. im forgetfull so this was ideal. yo have a jab in your thigh every 12 weeks and thats it, you just forget about it after that.

but D'oh! if you had condoms why did you have to rush outtoday??? i think you were subconciously hoping!

misdee · 08/10/2006 15:38

erm, because we wree in another room, and i dont quite know where they are (its been almost 3years since they were needed), heck i dont even know if they are still in date, and we got carried away

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 08/10/2006 15:42

If you're not planning on repeating it very often, then condoms are probably best. Or the mirena coil seems to come highly recommended.

misdee · 08/10/2006 15:47

ok, i guess i better see where the old ones are (we werent even living here then, so may still be in a packing box), and get me off to FPC on my sfternoon off.

'so mrs w why do you need contraception'

'because my husband has an LVAD (get into explantion about whqt that is) and i dont really want a child right now'

oh this will be fun lol

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 08/10/2006 15:49

..." and the whole medical team and my MIL will tell me off if they find out we're having sex"

Ah well, they'll certainly remember you.

misdee · 08/10/2006 15:50
