I'm 99.99% certain that there's a very faint positive line on the pg test I've just done. It is very faint, but compared to one I did the other day I'm sure there's a line there. And it is still a couple of day until AF is due.

Need to go to the chemist and get another one just to make absolute certain but I'm not feeling very optimistic that it's going to show a negative.

And also he had a part in it! You didn't fall pregnant on your own.

My gut feeling, QofQ, is that you are pregnant.

SoupDragon · 22/09/2006 15:49

No, drag them off. put them in wellies and raincoats and go. otherwise you'll be stuck in going "yes, no, what if, but..."

Ordinary shoes dry out too

Hmmm, am afraid to say, HRH, I know several people who have fallen pregnant after MAP, two of whom took it within hours of the deed! It's a higher dose of the normal pill so it can't cause a false positive, I assume you did it in the correct time? It just doesn't work in every case. I know what you mean though about the twinge of disappointment with a negative, I've had that a few times even though I really haven't wanted it to be positive, somehow it's like you're failing a test! I am now 24 weeks with my third pregnancy, absolutely unplanned (this time), it was right in the middle of my masters degree. It was the teeniest of tiniest chances and hey presto, here we are again, so I know how you're feeling. I've just about come to terms with it now, and it feels sort of meant to be, really hope it works out for you.

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 22/09/2006 16:00

bl*dy typical - it's now pssing now with rain...........think I'm going to dash over the road and ask a neighbour (who's babysat before) if she'll sit with the boys for 20 minutes while I run to Morrisons............I'll get a few other bits while I'm there so she doesn't know what for!!!

ps, also was mostly terrified about telling dp, and there were storms, but you know, amazing as we are we can't do it on our own , but he's fine now...

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 22/09/2006 16:01

Carrotcake - yes I took it within the correct time - was about 7hrs from time of said deed........

carrotcake · 22/09/2006 16:04

I meant the test in the right time, as that's the only thing I know that can cause a false positive, if you go back to it a while later, that's happened to me too! Good luck with the announcement, sounds like it might be good news if he takes it well...

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 22/09/2006 16:11

oh - yes test was taken in the right time too.......anyhow, just dashed across the road and my neighbour has agreed to come and sit with them for 20 minutes while I dash and get another one (or perhaps two just to make certain).

Busting for a wee, but going to save it to make sure I've got 'something' for the test.......

Good Luck, don't forget to tell us how you get on And then you can prepare to tell Dh in a nice happy way :D

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 22/09/2006 16:14

I thought this would be your thread... (or Twigs for some reason)

Good Luck for the result you want

liquidclocks · 22/09/2006 16:17

35 weeks ago I did what you're about to do - when I bought the pg test I also bought a good bottle of wine - figured either way it would be handy - for me if -ve and for giving to DH before I broke the 'good' news if +ve (he had it!)

shhhh · 22/09/2006 16:19

good luck qoq. LOL to liquidclocks "wine idea" .!!

foxinsocks · 22/09/2006 16:20

misdee · 22/09/2006 16:22

Oh, QOQ - this must be so difficult for you. I really hope everything turns out OK.

MoreTeaAnyone · 22/09/2006 16:50

Remember to but the wine and the chocolates while you're out. You can celebrate/cheer yourself up one way or another.

Hope you get the answer that you want.

MoreTeaAnyone · 22/09/2006 16:50

buy
sorry

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 22/09/2006 16:54

thanks for all your messages - missed the ones about the wine and chocolate as I'd already gone.

Just to prove I'm a dizzy blone here's a good one. Was absolutely DYING to do a wee all the way there. They only had the Clearblue Digital left (must have been a "rush" on for the normal ones as there were LOADS yesterday morning!). Anyhow, dashed to the loo at Morrisons yanked the test out of the box, shoved the bit in the end to do the test, wee-ed on it..........and then realised I hadn't taken the cap off the bit for the urine .

By the time I realised I didn't have enough wee left - and it's now showing "not pregnant" (but obviously it only got a drop on it). Now have to wait for an hour or so for the screen to clear to try again

MoreTeaAnyone · 22/09/2006 16:56

Calming thoughts coming your way.

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 22/09/2006 16:57

have to say I'm feeling a bit calmer - but that's probably because of the almost certainly inaccurate "not pregnant" staring at me at the moment.........trying not to look at the test I did a while ago that's still showing a positive

OP posts:
carrotcake · 22/09/2006 16:58

Bugger! will watch this space, typical though, when you're in a stress, do you need to wait for screen to dry or just till you need a wee?
