ER alert!

Not sure if ER has aired yet this week on C4 or E4, but I need to warn you it is VERY upsetting for us PG ladies. Watched it on RTE last Sunday and let's just say it involves Carter and his partner. Extremely well done as is usual with ER, but a tear-jerker nonetheless

BIBIBOO · 26/05/2004 16:46

A non-pg friend warned me about ER too, don't know any details, but it sounds upsetting!

No line on my tummy, unless you count the stretchmarks. I want a holiday too piglit! Jammy! Dh is a teacher though and we can't afford the ridiculous half-term prices this year.

what's upsetting you harman? anything we can help with? fancy a moan?

sooz31 · 26/05/2004 17:03

hi. am working from home today and have just found Mnet. Needed to join in especially after reading about blubbing in ER. For info, I'm 31 and have a DS who is 2y+3m and am due in October too.

BIBIBOO · 26/05/2004 17:25

Hi Sooz
Congrats on baby due in Oct. and finding MNet. I'm fairly new too but it's helped me loads already!

Turtle35 · 26/05/2004 17:41

Welcome Sooz and congratulations.

I have seen that episode of ER - I can barely stand to write about it as it's heartbreaking. I love Carter

for those of you who don't know Harman, I believe she has left DH and has three small children and is due in Oct - need I say any more. Very brave woman.

Piglit where are you going on holiday? I like to be able to day dream about lovely holidays.

am very keen to skive off early today, have in-laws over from Ireland for four days and let's just say they can be a little challenging. I need a nap before dinner tonight.

beansprout · 26/05/2004 17:41

Hi Sooz - welcome to the October strand!
When is your due date?!

Yikes to ER - saw one episode last night and spent it saying "I want a bump like that", but now it sounds like something horrific is going to happen...

Good to hear from you Harman, hope that, all things considered, you are ok. We, the lady meece are here for you, just give us a shout if there is anything we can do?

Turtle35 · 26/05/2004 17:43

By the way Sooz as you are dealing with quite a few first timers, I hope you will be giving up the dirt on your first labour/delivery at some stage. Not sure if we are quite ready for it yet but will need pure honesty around Sept time!!

piglit · 26/05/2004 17:54

Good to hear from you Harman. We're all thinking of you.

Turtle - we're off to the South of France. Hopefully it will be nice and warm.

Turtle35 · 26/05/2004 18:00

Piglit you lucky dog! Tell me, will you be eating cheese and pate? what do French pregnant woman do?

hope the weather is good for you.

BIBIBOO · 26/05/2004 18:01

Oooh, I fancy going over to France - getting a ferry over and driving myself - sounds lovely. Can I come?

beansprout · 26/05/2004 18:05

ooh Turtle - rash request on the honesty thing (sticks fingers in ears and sings "la la la"

Piglit - please eat an unfeasible amount of posh, French, proper chocolate for me?
What is French for Piglit? Le petit couchon? (need emoticon with leedle mustache and a beret)

BIBIBOO · 26/05/2004 18:06

Talking of honesty, checked out my leaky boob problem - need sympathy!!!

piglit · 26/05/2004 18:14

I am gutted that I won't be able to fill my trough with soft unpasturised cheese or swill down gallons of scrummy French wine. Thanks for the idea Beansprout - I'll eat loads of choclate instead! Oooh, pain au choclate for breakfast every day. Oink oink.

piglit · 26/05/2004 18:15

Ooops. Can't spell chocolate today - just as well I'm so good at eating it..!

sooz31 · 26/05/2004 18:16

Thanks for the nice welcome everyone.

Err, not sure how much honesty anyone really needs prior to DB1; save to say DS1 arrived by EC in the end which had its +es and -es.

Very jealous of piglit's pending hols - we're saving mine up for start of maternity leave... I'm finishing work at end of July to spend time home with DS1 - I can't wait!

BIBIBOO · 26/05/2004 18:19

I want honesty, my mate was quite annoyed with her mother for not telling her just how painful labour was, shouting at her "you're my mother ffs! If you won't look out for me who will?"

Turtle35 · 26/05/2004 18:28

Piglit, lots of fresh baguettes with lashings of butter!! I am sure you will find some decent pasturised cheese and the odd sneaky glass of vino will do no harm in my books.

Bibiboo you poor thing with leaky boobs, I didn't think that would happen yet? what a pain in the back side or should I say front side

beansprout · 26/05/2004 18:30

Mum told me that labour doesn't hurt as much as cramp?! Anyone?!

Fact is I'm sure it will vary from moose to moose - simple as that?! Naturally we want to be reassured but we won't know until d-day (starts to panic and slips quietly back into denial...)

Turtle35 · 26/05/2004 18:34

Bean that's why I said we really shouldn't talk about it till September when we will be faced with it. I have a very low pain threshold, always have and am sure this will be THE most painful experience ever! OK now I am getting really scared again and really must think about working or more to the point getting out of work.

beansprout · 26/05/2004 18:39

Good point Turtle. Feel much more comfortable talking about chocolate intake at this stage!!

Where's Piglit when we need her?! Piglit?!!

sooz31 · 26/05/2004 18:40

Cramp? hmm, your mum sounds like she got off lightly, Bean!

Anyone know of anyone that had a natural birth after having a C-section first time round?

sooz31 · 26/05/2004 18:43

Sorry everyone! Ignore last message - I'll save it for a new thread?!

piglit · 26/05/2004 18:49

PLEASE MOOSES - NO DISCUSSION OF CHILDBIRTH UNTIL SEPTEMBER. At the earliest.....
