I'm a bit nervous about opening this thread as I've only foundt out I'm pregnant and anything can happen...anyway, due date 1st november, I still cant believe it.....
This is my second baby but I'm even more anxious about this pregnancy than first time round...I'd been wantind a 2nd baby for over a yera now, but dh wanted to wait longer, and now it's happened, but it wasn't planned at all!!!

We're both over the moon though, but trying to contain our happyness just in case....(easier said than done)

anyway, I fell better now, having shared this with you..

off to play with dd1 now!!!

Hoorah - so pleased bunny - relax now and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!!

collision · 14/04/2004 17:44

Great news Bunny.....go and have some mash and fish and enjoy your PG!!

vivie · 14/04/2004 20:14

Brilliant news bunny. Glad you're okay too mum2Ela.

I'm still more or less in normal clothes, my tummy seems to be getting bigger quite quickly but the rest of me is staying the same. Last time I used morning sickness and quitting smoking as an excuse to sit on my bum eating sweets - I put on 3 stone! - but this time I'm trying really hard to eat more sensibly and carry on taking excercise. Not that I feel like it much when I'm feeling sick.... Dh is on a health kick so I have had to sneak out a couple of times to eat a crafty sausage roll! I did read somewhere that pregnant women who eat chocolate have happier babies that women who don't - and ds has always been pretty cheerful.

bunny2 · 14/04/2004 22:40

Thanks alot everyone .

Vivie, I put on 4 and a half stone with ds and never lost it all. I am already piling it on, I just cant stop eating. I'll be a balloon by November. Summer in a bikini? Not this year.

Mum2Ela · 15/04/2004 08:46

Brilliant news bunny!

PotPourri · 15/04/2004 13:28

Great news Bunny!

When will this morning sickness stop? I am well ill - boo hoo. Feeling sorry for myself. Strangely though the thought of that sausage roll mentioned by Vivie is quite appealing (in theory). It's definately worst in the morning, but aren't you meant to feel well in the afternoon & evening? I'm just constantly nauseous. Also, does anyone else have trapped wind? My belly feels like a balloon.

Can't wait until I get to the 'blooming' stage. Keep reminding myself it will all be worth it.

Mum2Ela · 15/04/2004 13:44

Potpourri - am very bloated too. Have come to work in my combat trousers as they are sooo comfy! Spoke to soon below re: srill getting into my size 10's. Feel like I am all belly and boobs today.

Less than 2 weeks before my dating scan

10 weeks and 4 days today (how sad am I).

Mum2Ela · 15/04/2004 13:56

Twinkie - just read the other thread about choosing names. I thought I was being a bit premature so didn't mention it on this thread . . .but I have chosen names too!

We have Luca for a boy and Mollie for a girl (I liked Mollie last time but DH wouldn't let me have it as our surname begins with an M - I will talk him round this time!). No middle names.

Has anyone else thought about names?

x

PotPourri · 15/04/2004 14:02

DH & I were at a car book sale and got a book of 50,000 baby names for the bargain price of 30p! We sat and went through all the girls names, and have a 'shortlist' of about 8. Still to do the boys, but we already have a few ideas for that. I;m not going to tell family/friends etc before the baby is born - they might say they don't like it and I am useless at not caring what other people think

Twinkie · 15/04/2004 14:02

I like Mollie but it is my best friends Dog and I think Luca is a lovely name but have refused lots of italian girls names that DP has come up with so he would go spare if I suggested a boys name in that vein!!!

They are lovely names - especially Molly!!

I am 10 weeks exactly on Saturday!! - have my booking in appointment tomorrow afternoon!!

Twinkie · 15/04/2004 14:03

DP has sworn me to secrecy in terms of what we are going to call baby!! (Of course he has no idea about the thousands of mumsnetters who will know!! )

PotPourri · 15/04/2004 14:13

Going off topic a bit, has anyone tried Hula Hoops Bacon & tomato sauce? Highly recommended, I just had a pack and I swear they have taken away the morning sickness feeling. Fingers crossed it will last at least an hour!

Twinkie · 15/04/2004 14:15

Mini Chedders are my saviour!! - If the vending machine ever runs out of them there is going to be full scale war!!

Bacon flavour things repeat on me for ages afterwards!!

eidsvold · 15/04/2004 14:55

mints seem to be my saviuor or the dry crackers. Strange last time I knew it was a girl - for sure and dd was born.. we chose a girl's name but had no boy's name - this time we can't agree on any we feel strongly about - except those we hate I should say. Dh and I decided to do a short list after we have moved to Australia and have time to think clearly.

eidsvold · 15/04/2004 14:56

oh mum2ela - friend's daughter's name is molly and their surname starts with an m - sounds good.

Twinkie · 15/04/2004 14:56

DP just come up with Maxamilion (Duh - just Max me thinks!!) Franco - can you imagine it - he will be growing a tache and beard by the age or 4 (DP is foreign looking!!) and taking over European countries!!!!

I don't think so - he said 'we' liked Frank - er sorry who was the other person inthat we - not me thats for sure - I just think of Frank butcher when I think of the name Frank and I am not having daughter in laws like dwarf Peggy and Fat Pat!!

bunny2 · 15/04/2004 17:34

M2E, brilliant names. I have always wanted Molly for a girl (or Polly) but dh doesnt like it. And Luca was my choice for a boy, again dh doesnt agree. He wants really naff names but I have said NO.

PotPourri · 15/04/2004 17:37

Ooooh Eidsvold. How exciting that you are moving to Australia. When are you going? Have you been before? Can you tell I am fed up waiting for summer to arrive in the UK!

collision · 15/04/2004 18:03

My DH is called Luca and I think it is a lovely name so if baby is a ds he will have it as a middle name. DS is called Max......just Max, thank goodness. Here in Italy the full name for Max is Massimilliano which is too much and imagine learning to spell it. Max is much easier. We have chosen names too.....Zac for a boy and Annabel for a girl. We did the same when I was PG with Max and never went off them so i think it will be the same this time.

Have a tomato thing going on at the moment and cant get enough of them. Am still in jeans but not for long.

Thanks for email yesterday Twinkie.

eidsvold · 15/04/2004 18:55

pot purri - I am from australia - all my family there - been in the Uk almost 4 years... but it is time to go home. We leave the UK seven weeks today - I will be about 17/18 weeks pregnant when we go.

tomatoes collision - interesting - I have a hot chip thing.. and bacon and egg sandwiches and pizza..!!

Dh master chef makes sure I have lots of veges though...

bunny2 · 15/04/2004 20:37

for me it is cheese and fish. Maybe I'm lacking calcium.

vivie · 16/04/2004 14:31

twiglets, chelsea buns, eclairs, chips, onion rings, sausage rolls, cheese singles, smarties ... Bye bye waist!

handlemecarefully · 16/04/2004 14:46

Bunny2,

Just checking in belatedly to see how your scan went. Really made up for you that babs is fine. Looks like everything is going great this time around

bunny2 · 16/04/2004 16:59

Thanks HMC, I've left a message for you on the April thread.

jellycat · 16/04/2004 21:36

Hi folks! It is strange, I don't remember having any cravings in my last pg but ths time I am getting feelings that I really want to eat certain things, and that I really don't want to eat other things. For instance, I really want salty snacks (crisps, ritz crackers etc) and fruit, and fried tomatoes (!!). Things I really don't fancy are most sweet things (apart from fruit). Also I've gone off coffee - totally unheard-of for me even when pg before.

I do wonder if I'm imagining it all though.
